Those stainless steel pipes are so fucking good. No one talks about how good those look tbh 😂 a full titanium system would look so nice after a while too
I picked up a Z900RS ('23 model) last week, already put 500 miles on it and am having the first service done on Thursday haha. I'm loving it - the styling, the sound, the torque and power... the whole package is sublime. I've come from an Aprilia RS 660 (which is still probably my favourite bike) but after getting a bad back on the Aprilia, this Zed is like sitting on a sofa. Already done a few mods to it (EP tail tidy, heated grips, OEM grab rail, OEM radiator guard) and it looks the business. Can't wait until it's been serviced so I can rag the shit out of it!
I have the 2018 Z900RS in Root beer and Orange. I bought it last year with only 411 miles on it. It is not the Cafe version. My first ride on it (not even knowing if my feet would reach the ground) was from Dallas Texas to Jacksonville Florida. It loves the interstates. I put 1200 miles on it that first trip. Since then I have used it as a daily commuter and have taken two 2500 mile trips on it. It LOVED the Tail of the Dragon and Cherahala Skyway! This is an amazing all round bike and gets around 200+ miles per tank full averaging around 50 mpg if you are not getting on it (which is very fun to do). It has all day comfort and I have put several 700 days in on it. There is no handle bar vibration and the seating position is perfect. I agree it is not a beginner bike. There is lots of power and it is from the start all the way up through the mid band. This is an amazing bike!
Nice feedback and write up on your experience. Sounds like Kawasaki has nailed it on this machine! Tough to fault it. Thanks for watching and ride safe!
Great review! I've owned a '19 Cafe since new and it's a great all-around motorcycle. I wish it had LED tun signals! Those were given to everyone but the US market, we got a helmet lock instead (and the turn signals not self-cancelling either!) The OEM Dunlop tires are trash. Now for the great things about it, it looks cool as hell, it's got more than enough power to get you in trouble on public streets, and it's comfortable on longer rides. I've always wanted a classic Kawasaki Z but didn't want to ride an old 80's motorcycle anymore, because of reliability issues on longer rides. Out of the nine bikes I've owned over 20 years, I always love riding this one.
I was considering this bike at one point! The blue version they made is one handsome bike, but I decided to go with a BMW S1000R for a lot of the reasons you talked about. I agree, this would be a good around town bike plus occasional twisties, but thats about it... That exhaust sound, tho!! 🔥🔥
Same horsepower as standard RS. rwhp 97-100, headers and an ecu flash add 8-12hp. Rear shock only has rebound on both models. The SE has ohlins rear and brembo 32mm callipers up front with the same forks but painted gold.
Got a 22 rs couple months ago and love it. First bike since my 00 ZX- 9 i bought brand new. Love the retro look and inline 4. Next gonna find me an 08 b-king or a 80 cbx 1000. Cheers.....
Cheers brother! This bike is a bit of a sleeper if you see one in the wild and don't know what's stuffed into the frame. To an untrained eye, many wouldn't guess it's packing 110+ HP!
Nice video, I just bought the same bike recently and I absolutely love it. Quick question, what is the headlight cowl you have? it looks perfect in this bike... Best regards from Spain
Hey there! In the USA we actually get that cowl from an added trim package on the Z900 RS model. It's called the Z900 RS Cafe. You may be able to order one from Kawasaki, or go though a different online source. Here's one I found on eBay from Puig ebay.us/yRTx8X The style is called a bullet style fairing, or just cafe racer headlight fairing.
My 2022 Triumph T120 , 1200 cc is liquid cooled with fake air cool fins to make it look retro. It also has 2 fake carburetors placed over the injectors to make it look retro, LOL. The bad thing about Euro bike is they all have to be Euro 6 compliant; my bike has a governor on the ECU that limits the top speed to 120mph.
I e got a 21 RS cafe. All things considered it’s the perfect bike, although I’m a life long GPz/KZ head so I’m biased as hell. Maybe just a bit more horses would be nice but that could probably be sorted out with a tune.
I know they are different bikes but im debating between a T120 and a Z900Rs. Any thoughts? Ill mostly be riding around the city with occasional longer rides.
The T120 is the better city motorcycle IMO. The Z900 RS can fill the role, but around the city I don’t know if you’ll have an instance where you’ll be able to open it and use the power. The flip side is the Z900 would be the one to have on the longer rides you mentioned, because it has more HP to offer when things open up, but the T120 is certainly no slouch either. Dealer network/support is pretty important too, especially during the longer rides. Triumph dealers are pretty sparse around my location, but it seems Kawasaki has one at least every 50 miles or so. However - The T120 has 10,000 mile service intervals, so long as nothing needs replaced between those intervals. If it were up to me and I had to make your choice, I think the Z is what I’d choose, but I’ve always been biased to Japanese motorcycles. Best of luck with your decision. Ride safe!
@Omni_Moto Great points.. Thank you! I have both dealers close to me. I definitely want to test ride the Z. Hoping to ride one more season with my SV before I make the switch. You ride safe as well brother!
I sat on one yesterday and felt something stirring. The seat height and look and overall weight feel are nice. I'm currently on a CBR 500R and am finding the upper limits of the bike. Would this be a good upgrade?
This would be a great upgrade for you! You’ll more than double your power output, and coming from your 500 you will have a great foundation laid out to get on a Z900RS cafe. You’ll appreciate the ride modes and traction control - Just get to know the bike first with some practice sessions, then get it on the roadways to see just how capable it is. Thanks for watching and ride safe! 😎👍
@@jasonstrom9283 best way to know is to sit on it, but based on other individuals of that stature who I’ve seen get one these, you could ride it and fit just fine. 👍
Sold me. Picked up as 2023 Z900RS Cafe today I love it. Looks even better in person so damn clean.

Nice video, I have the exact same bike. Previously had an SV650 and the Z900RSCafe is leaps and bounds better. I'll probably keep it forever.
Great review on the 🏍 I do enjoy watching your videos. I can't wait till spring to start riding and keep up the good work 🙌
Thanks for watching. Just a few more months and we’ll be in prime Spring season 😋

Is that bike dark blue?
This one was black, but they do have a navy blue/gold version from another model year.
@@Omni_Moto well, it looks really good!

Inseam measurement is much more useful when talking about seat height and getting your feet down on a motorcycle as compared to overall height.
Yep as an average height person with short legs, i can’t tell you how frustrating it is when people just go by height 😂
I was curious what helmet were you wearing for this video. Thanks.
Ruroc Atlas 4.0. Ordered S/M on their site, fit a little tight at first but broke in after about a week and fits perfectly now.
@Omni Moto thank you. The helmet looks unique, in other words very cool. 😎
How tall are u ?
