How To Remove Dash and Install OEM Radio in a 1995 Buick Roadmaster Limited

  • I know I searched for videos forever to figure out how to remove the dash for those looking to install radios but I couldn't find any, therefore I made my own. In this video I go step by step in how to remove the dash and access the radio for replacement. I replaced the stock radio for an OEM monsoon unit with AUX input due to the tape player going on the fritz on the stock unit. For OEM swaps, it's extremely simple to do and my set up worked out great!. I also go over all the details of the system, theftlock, and all the other info you're looking for. For installation of aftermarket units, I show where the wiring harness and antenna is so you can splice your wires for your system. Other than that I tried to make it as informative and entertaining as I could! Hope you all enjoy and if you have any questions let me know and I'll try to answer!

    Great video, this'll take the guess work out when I pull the factory CD Stereo out of my '94 Roadmaster Estate Wagon. CD isn't working so I need to pull it out and get it fixed.
    I do like the looks of that Monsoon but I'll go with my stock unit once it's been repaired :)

    I agree with you, aftermarket make the inside of the car look disturbed. Have you considered onstar FMV for navigation and Bluetooth? It works really well, it reduces insurance costs and it also works as a safety feature.

    @saabkyle04 agreed. tis on its own harness. USUALLY yellow in colour. wiring into an amp you can tap into rear speakers, and wire into a high level input on an amplifier, OR do same and wire into a line level converter. so you can mount amplifier in trunk. ground in trunk,and only wire you have to run forward is hte power cable for amplifier, and a trigger wire to turn amp on and off

    Thanks for this info. I'm putting a dvd in my estate wagon, which has the 'Concert Sound II' radio (slight echo). I was afraid of breaking the dash panel. Your dash says 'Dynaride', mine says 'Grand Touring Suspension'. Both mean 'soft' I think.

    @saxman112 i feel the same way with the system on my 2002 Camry. Its very easy to operate and its a great sounding system for a car of that price range. IMO the setup in cars like this is the best, with 6 preset buttons, a small knob for the volume, and a switch to sort through the stations. The only thing better would be to have the same radio controls on the steering wheel but it was easy to get used to for me without them.

    Kyle you should buy a set so you can mount you camera on your head or somewhere else, so when you are doing thigs like that, you have free hands, and can work normaly and we can see the whole proces too.

    OEM radios FTW! I feel like people who have a problem with OEM systems need a HEARING AID instead of spending hundreds of dollars on some ugly aftermarket radio. I can understand putting one in if the car you're driving is a hooptie with a broken radio, but IMO putting an ugly aftermarket deck in a mint luxury car is like putting cheez wiz on filet mignon.

  • @saxman112
    @saxman112 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @achm3d It was easy for me to get used to that too. The positioning of the radio on the dashboard makes it so easy to adjust the volume or change the station quick if I'm listening to the radio. But, I sometimes don't have to worry about that because sometimes I will also listen to my iPhone in the car with a cassette adapter. Would it be nice to have radio controls on the steering wheel? Yes, but you have to keep in mind that a couple years back certain features weren't standard.
