I'd agree with everything. I have one. And until now every 6S rig I have from Arrma gets full M2C, Vitavon, RCAWD, Hot Racing and Hobbywing treatment. But this one. I've changed the shock cap bushings, added cooling fans to the motor and replaced the hubs with Hot Racing hubs. And I'm on pack 5 and no breakage. And I'm doing Freshpark ramp 100 foot plus sends. And this rig has needed just about nothing. It's thee most capable truggy Arrma had ever released. Obviously I tuned the diffs to my liking. But I mean ya really don't have to do a whole lot. And it just takes it.

Thanks Thomas 🤗. Both Backflips are awesome. The taller/heavier 6s ones are generally better on rougher terrain with more cushion and ground clearance. They also stunt and flip easier due to the extra wheel mass. That said, the 4s Backflips are extremely planted and fast with the right gearing. They get moving quicker and can really get the power down great. Definitely more stable with high speed drifting and cornering. It really boils down to preference and terrain.

Impressive truck and great video as always, Mr Duperbash! Thanks for including such relatable content like the brain-freeze roof landing. Happens to all of us I think XD. Speeking of reducing breakage/weight... What are your thoughts on carbon fiber parts, like shock towers?
Thanks so much Brother 🤗. High quality Carbon fiber is incredibly strong and light. The only downside is it can crack with the right amount of force. I've shattered CF towers before due to brutal wrecks. If the body is big enough to protect the tower, you're less likely to snag a corner and have a failure. My overall preference is 7075 T6 for towers, but they're definitely heavier.
@@richduperbash2966Thanks man! I guess, testing is in order. Got to reduce the strain on that screw fixing the m2c rear center brace to the chassis ;-)
@@richduperbash2966Yep, checked all those boxes. I'll take a look at that screw after a couple of runs. Thanks mate and keep on the exquisite bashing 🦾
Dude, you make it seem so easy and simple, love your videos, i see that you loved the 6S EXB Kraton, what are your thoughts on the 8S EXB?? Im so tempted to pull the trigger, also because from the big 1/5 boys is basically the only one i can order from amazon here (Mexico) without paying an arm and a leg to get it here, is the 8S EXB Kraton RTR or, the Redcat Vigilante, what are your thoughts on the 8S Kraton? too big/heavy for the skate park and it will be always breaking something? 6S EXB seems more durable by a mile.
Thanks so very much Brother 🤗. The Kraton 8s EXB is big and heavy for the skatepark, but shouldn't break easily, unless you really get crazy. Bigger skateparks would be best. The new K6s EXB RTR is an awesome all around basher. ARRMA really stepped up with the aluminum bulkheads, split center brace, improved servo and servo saver, beefy wing mount, and emulsion style shocks 😍. I don't know enough about the Vigilante to make an educated opinion. The lighter 6s rigs are best for skatepark use overall. They're way more agile and simply take more punishment being lighter. The large scales are better suited for big terrain and ample space. 🍻
I talked about it in my previous video. I used E6000 with FibaTape for cement board. Used a caulking gun to spread the E6000. Definitely strengthens the body bigtime.
Thanx for your help. I did watch some how to video and when it finally gets warm enough to try i will give this method a go. Another question what is your take on basherqueen aftermarket carbon fiber parts ? I only learned of them.
Thanx again for the help and added knowledge. Any that you may recommend using over other aftermarket parts. I only wanna build a more durable basher. I do use other parts myself.
@@rtk6945well... I prefer M2C Racing 7075 towers over CF. They are definitely heavier, but I've busted CF towers before with direct nasty hits. Your question is tough to answer, because weight savings is important when possible for overall durability.
Thanks Brother 🤗. I didn't notice a number on the pistons, but it looked around 1.2-1.4. Did notice the pistons are white though 👀. Wondering if they possibly switched to Delrin 🤔
Liking everything about the new exb,I recently started in the bashing and picked up a second kraton 6s needing a pinion, could you let me know what size I need I've looked it up an can't get a certain size, any help would be greatly appreciated, would it be possible to ask you questions from time to time if needed,if so how would be best, thanks alot bashing on!!!
Congrats on the second Kraton 6s Thomas. I'd recommend a 16T Robinson Racing extra hard pinion, #1216. Don't forget to use heat to remove the old pinion grub screw. Butane torch is the best way in my experience. TH-cam is a good way to reach me because I don't do much social media.
Hey Paul 🤗. 2000cst shock fluid is kinda challenging to find. Found mine a few years ago online. Think it shipped from Turnigy in Walnut Grove 🤔. Not sure if diff fluid would work the same. I'm curious where ARRMA sources their 2000 for the Talion 6s. Probably China, but I honestly don't know. Have a great time at the lake Brother 🚀🚀. Here's a similar looking bottle on eBay. www.ebay.com/itm/204054499352
Thanks for the reply Rich. I'll get some Associated 2000cst diff fluid and see how that works. One of the Japanese RC has a 2000 shock fluid but out of stock currently. Maybe permanently. Thanks for your reply and imput. BTW, the Kraton EXB is a winner and the Backflip6s really improve the preciseness of the steering.
Nice third run with the new K6 Rich😱. Those rips through the water sounded awesome that Truck was really getting it. I agree this is definitely the best RTR basher on the market one super tough truck out of the box, so how many times did you bounce off the wall at the skate park, I was like no he didn’t just tap that wall😂and then you did it twice in a row good one👍 question did you change the pistons over to the M2c O-ring style pistons or are you still running stock? I seen you went to 2000 CST good call thanks for sharing and all you do brother, you’re still the king in my book🤘😎👊
Thanks so much Brother Aldo 🤗. Felt awesome to rip her wide open at the lake. She was slicing the water into a fine mist 😂. The skatepark was crazy fun with the new Backflips. She was drifting and squealing the whole time. The walls were like bump stops 😍. I'm still running the stock pistons, just swapped in 2000 up front. Haven't touched the preload collars or done much of anything else besides the open center diff with 500k. Super impressed with this new EXB 😱. Really appreciate it Bro and hope the Florida weather is good. We're getting gobs of rain and wind. I'm staying inside 😂🍻😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 right on Rich. Thanks for that info one of these days. I’ll make it to a skate park and our weather up until yesterday has been super 💩 rain overcast cloudy yesterday was the first day the sun came out in a while. It’s cold now but we can live with that Philly BRC is in town and coming out to bash with me today. It’s gonna be super awesome. Stay dry and warm my friend and thanks again for all you do.
I typically run some toe out up front and prefer slight negative camber on all 4 corners if not generally neutral. Haven't touched any camber links on this one.
Hey Rich, what batteries do you recommend for both the 1/10 3s arrmas and the 6s kraton? I was thinking something around 6000mah 100-120c. I've been using a powerhobby 5200mah 50c battery (softcase, probably dangerous?) in my 6s kraton. It's pretty underwhelming and I'm running a hobbywing max6 combo, punch set to 7. Doesn't even wheelie when I hammer the throttle quick. Any disadvantages to running 2 3s batteries instead of 1 6s? It's appealing to get 3s so I can use them in the 1/10 and 1/8 cars, but if performance suffers a lot I'd probably pass. Suggestions? Thanks, appreciate your help!
I'm running Ovonic AIR 5200 50C and Zeee 4000mah 100C. For 3s I run Ovonic 5200 80C. The Max6 1650kv combo is awesome. Just have to gear up to around 22-23T on the pinion to really maximize full potential on 6s. Running 2x 3s packs is a pain in the ass in my opinion. Much simpler to run single 6s packs with less cables and connectors.
@@pizzomedia7261 my friends and I all run 22 or 23T in the 1650 Max6 and it does fantastic on 6s 👌. You shouldn't have temp issues unless running huge heavy wheels non stop. You gotta remember if your gearing is too low for the kv, you're constantly revving the motor with higher RPM's when trying to achieve speed. There's a sweet spot to find with proper gearing. Motor temps up to 150F is still safe. Over 160-170F + can shorten the rotor life. Most motors have to exceed 200F before risk of seizing from rotor damage.
Sacramento is in bad need of designated bash areas. There's an urban spot off Natomas Blvd and Del Paso Blvd, but the dirt becomes a thick paste construction mud during the wet months like right now.
@@jerrodadarnell1 there's a spot in Lincoln off 12 Bridges and 65 behind the Walgreens. They're doing nearby construction, but it's still a fun bash spot. I don't know of any good spots in Roseville unfortunately. Let me know if you find one.
My guess is around 160 weight. I bought my 2000cst shock oil online years ago. Not sure if TLR or Team Associated sell it or not or where ARRMA sources theirs 🤔
I'm running a Hobbystar 56112 840kv with 34/34 gearing and Max5 in mine. Another good option is their 980kv with 32/39 gearing. Both setups rip 🚀🚀. If you lean towards more top speed the 980kv has greater top end potential.
The motor shroud fan started cutting out after my first skatepark run so I removed it along with the front mud guards. Basically removed unnecessary weight and increased total air flow through the chassis bay. The hottest I've gotten my motor is about 120F at the back of the can.
Definitely a fun car but the arm breakages really dampen my spirit for it. The arms/shafts/output cups have been a problem on this platform for a long time now and it's a bummer they haven't addressed it. Years ago it wasn't as big of a deal but there are more durable vehicles out there now that make me less tolerant to it.
I'm ok with the upper arms busting given the hits the car took in cold weather. The first breakage was 100% my fault and still glad it wasn't worse. I'm thinking the standard 6s upper arms may be stronger than the EXB variant. Haven't had to straighten my shafts or had an outdrive cup let go yet, though I've heard of cups snapping. So far I've have had good luck with this rig overall. Years ago, upgrading to RPM arms was a must. Unfortunately, their new V5/EXB spec rear arms are kinda junk. They break easier than the stockers from personal experience.
@@richduperbash2966 same here. The RPM arms just are not an upgrade. And I agree that the truck overall is durable but I've managed to break at least one arm on just about every nasty landing I've had and whereas yes they're nasty landings I have had very similar crashes with multiple other vehicles including Kagama, XRT and Even the 4S arrmas without breaking anything. This definitely isn't a new problem My personal tolerance for it has just been reduced by better more durable products coming out. Still a good car though and a lot of fun just not really on the top of my list anymore
@@DoRC the Kagama looks awesome 😍. My XRT arms have done great, but the truck has been filled with plenty of other frustrations 😂. Don't want my blood pressure to start rising 🤣. ARRMA nailed it with the 4s arms, kinda like Traxxas did with the Sledge arms. It's frustrating having repeated breakages with any rig. Winter temps usually play a big role as well. Happy bashing my friend 🍻
@@richduperbash2966 Yeah definitely get a kagama. It's not perfect but it's awesome. I agree the XRT definitely has its share of problems out of the box but arms are not one of them and neither are they with the 4S truck.
@@g3ckko make sure to upgrade the screw to grade 12.9 and always use a through bolt and M4 locknut to crank that sucker down.
Cant wait to get one. What is your process for making the body stronger ?
I talked about it in my previous video. I used E6000 with FibaTape for cement board. Used a caulking gun to spread the E6000. Definitely strengthens the body bigtime.
Thanx for your help. I did watch some how to video and when it finally gets warm enough to try i will give this method a go. Another question what is your take on basherqueen aftermarket carbon fiber parts ? I only learned of them.
@@rtk6945Basherqueen parts are awesome 😍. Carbon fiber isn't as brutally strong as 7075 T6, but it's extremely light and strong overall.
Awesome as usual. What number are on the pistons with the 2000cst? 14? Thanks boss
@richduperbash2966 thank you for the advice, appreciate it!!!
Mr duperbash you should get a UDR or sbr I'd love to see how they would do in your hands
front shock fluid 2000cst? Is that diff fluid? Hope to be at the lake tomorrow. thanks Rich for your suggestions
@@paulsciabica2146 yes indeed Paul 🤗. The K6s EXB is a killer overall basher and the Backflips are still my favorites 🍻
Whats your ideal alignment for bashing? Looks pretty neutral but your cars seem to drive true
@@richduperbash2966 thanks Rich, very helpful! 22-23T is ok off road? Just don't want to burn up my motor.
@@richduperbash2966 thanks Rich! When are you starting an RC summer camp? Haha, sign me up 🍻
is there a place in sacramento ca to do stuff like this as well an dirt areas
Sacramento is in bad need of designated bash areas. There's an urban spot off Natomas Blvd and Del Paso Blvd, but the dirt becomes a thick paste construction mud during the wet months like right now.
What about roseville or any thing near by i just picked up my first rc
@@jerrodadarnell1 there's a spot in Lincoln off 12 Bridges and 65 behind the Walgreens. They're doing nearby construction, but it's still a fun bash spot. I don't know of any good spots in Roseville unfortunately. Let me know if you find one.
Rich what's Arrma's 2000cst in weight? Couldn't find any list of their weights
My guess is around 160 weight. I bought my 2000cst shock oil online years ago. Not sure if TLR or Team Associated sell it or not or where ARRMA sources theirs 🤔
Rich What’s up bro,
I want to buy a new motor and esc for my Kraton 8s exb what do you recommend i buy?
Thanks
I'm running a Hobbystar 56112 840kv with 34/34 gearing and Max5 in mine. Another good option is their 980kv with 32/39 gearing. Both setups rip 🚀🚀. If you lean towards more top speed the 980kv has greater top end potential.
@@richduperbash2966 you’re the man bro thanks for the response. I’m trying to take advantage of this 20% off Pres Day sale. Hobbywing lol.
Can this car run a single 3S?
Yes it should run 3, 4, and 6s. Not sure the ESC recognizes 5s. 3s might not be very fast, but it should work.
@@richduperbash2966 thank you! :D
Why no fan?
The motor shroud fan started cutting out after my first skatepark run so I removed it along with the front mud guards. Basically removed unnecessary weight and increased total air flow through the chassis bay. The hottest I've gotten my motor is about 120F at the back of the can.
🔥🔥🔥
Ultimately every truck's going to have its weaknesses and we all bashed differently which will show different strengths and weaknesses. Awesome video by the way Love your stuff :-)
@@DoRC thank you Brother. You nailed it about us all having different experiences. Truly appreciate it 🤗
It’s really hard to believe how great this is out of the box.
