I'm 23 and the organ has saved my life many times. There's something about it that always gets to my heart and spirit, reminds me God loves me and that I have purpose.
Daniel, there is something about the pipe organ that reminds me of a more beautiful place, perhaps even Heavenly. I believe that within some of us there is a magical ability to feel Music. This brought me to the organ keyboards; now I can create my own Heaven.
Sorry for replying to such an old comment, but I very rarely see comments I identify with so closely. I’m 29 now, and feel exactly the same as you. My dear, dear friend used to be our church organist (the church has since closed), and he could make that Victorian tracker action instrument sing like a canary. When I first heard him on a theatre organ, it was magical… I texted my Mam & said “I think I’m in Heaven”. Our organ society used to have fortnightly get togethers where those who could play, did, and those who couldn’t/ didn’t want to just listened. It didn’t matter what I was going through, or how bad I felt, I’d always leave feeling better. One last thing. My friend and I became the maintenance team- basically he did the maintenance and I watched while trying to learn. We had a marathon tuning session before one of our concerts. Eight. HOURS. By the end, we were both freezing cold and numb, but he wanted to play something to make sure it sounded alright. I’ve never heard a better version of “Thine Be The Glory”… It was one of those “I’m glad to be alive” moments. Thanks for bringing all this back
The organ is not dead. Young people like you can keep it alive. Keep practicing and making wonderful arrangements so other young people can be turned on to how great organ music is.
I feel like maybe part of the issue of the assumed/actual decrease of Organ players is that getting to play an actual Organ, to obtain actual experience with it, requires some sort very friendly connection with people or groups and also because they're not common instruments that are easily accessible. I assume in most cases, places keep unprofessionals away from their Organ as they're very expensive instruments and they don't want to take any chances. Also, most electronic keyboards that try to replicate an Organ rather produces a "RIP headphone users" variant of the Organ and it's not too pleasant. I feel like issues like these and potentially honestly do definitely do contribute to the opposing ideal for Organs.
I'm almost 29 and I absolutely LOVE the pipe organ more than any other instrument. It's the most beautiful instrument around, and my dream is to learn to master the instrument. :) Your skills are amazing, so please don't stop. Keep going. :)
Not the organ is dead. I think, often the probleme is, that the organists in the churches are near to death but don't give the young interested people a chance to try and learn. As a teenager of maybe 16 years I had the fortune to meet a churchmusician who gave me time on the console bench after the mass, when the church was empty. Later I got a key and arrive at sundaymorning a hour before the priest and do some practice.
I'm 18 and I'm from Italy. I'm also an organist and I think young people today watch this instrument like a thing that is only for liturgy... infact I'm starting to teach to kids the various sonority of this wonderful machine after the mass during the summer camp in my town curch ;)
Every time I hear this I remember those afternoons with the sound of the organ of a church that I went with my mom and dad. I remember being 6 years old and although church seemed boring to me today, at 26 years old I miss sitting on my dad's lap in church so much
I was born in Holland in the early 40`s , and I used to go up in the organ loft with my uncle, who was the organist. Although I don`t play, I consider myself to be an organ nut. Nothing compares to the pipe organ, and it truly is the king of instruments. Keep up the good work Joey.
The acoustic range of a fine pipe organ is certainly one of the wonders of mankind. An instrument spanning some four thousand years has been refined over time in step with technology to create an even more elaborate instrument. To hear in the flesh a large pipe organ played by a talented organist will leave anyone in awe. A pipe organ breathes just as we breathe... the sounds are generated by wind. I suspect a large portion of the world population are pipe organ enthusiasts, they just don't know it yet. Check out the Boardwalk organ and the Wannamaker organ, Grand Organ at the Melbourne Town Hall. All of these instruments need to be preserved. No question, Pipe Organ... The King of Instruments. When listing to pipe organ music on the internet, be sure to use good quality headphones to get the full range of the score.
You did a wonderful job, keep up the good work and remember that Jesus loves you and so do I and there's nothing you can do about it! Blessings and hugs 🤗💞💓💕💖🙏🙏🙏💝!
Wonderful… ❤😍🥺 it moved me to tears… I imagined to play it at the organ of a beauty sanctuary with my girl next to me… she listens to this song and she smiles at me… what a dream… 🥺 only a dream… thanks for this beauty… this music touches my heart and soul… thanks thanks very much… ❤😢🥺
Hey Joey, this sounds fantastic. I've taught organ for over 50 years and you have a great sound. I'm getting towards the end of my days and it's great to hear the organ in young hands. Keep up the great work.
My regards to you man. It's all thanks to people like you that keep the beautiful pipe organ alive. The pipe organ is truly the only instrument with a human soul.
This my favorite Disney movie all time and thanks you have a great music and beautiful melody it like heaven to me and I really like you play your a great talented person and I like your performance it so calm and joyful 👏🏻👌and keep up your talent your going a great job and I really like your music it very calm and beautifully too
This song makes me want to cry. I love hearing organ music from people like you. I’m bursting into tears right now. This is a humble of joy for someone special like you.
Can we please be friends and I really want to get to know you about your organ playing. How old are you now and when did you first played the pipe organ.
This version with a church organ makes me feel like I’m in peace when I think about all my friends & family that are no longer on the earth they are now inside the earth
played on a church organ... by a 14 yo boy.. That makes this beautyful Song absoultely unbelievable. First Class Performance. When i was in ur age i played Organ too. But i've never had a chance to play a church organ. Greetings from Germany. Rene
There's a calm surrender To the rush of day When the heat of a rolling wave Can be turned away An enchanted moment And it sees me through It's enough for this restless warrior Just to be with you And can you feel the love tonight? It is where we are It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer That we've got this far And can you feel the love tonight? (Tonight) How it's laid to rest? It's enough to make kings and vagabonds Believe the very best There's a time for everyone If they only learn That the twisting kaleidoscope Moves us all in turn There's a rhyme and reason To the wild outdoors When the heart of this star-crossed voyager Beats in time with yours And can you feel the love tonight? (Tonight) It is where we are It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer That we've got this far And can you feel the love tonight? (Tonight) How it's laid to rest? It's enough to make kings and vagabonds Believe the very best It's enough to make kings and vagabonds Believe the very best
This pipe organ version is so much more relaxing than the original. Don’t get me wrong Elton John is the all time OG but the sound of the organ combined with no percussion really makes it sound like a work of god 😌😌
I don't know that there ever has been an instrument devised that is as magnificent as the pipe organ. A complex blend of machine and instrument which requires an entire building just to house it, yet each one built is a unique work of art all unto its own. They're so wildly impractical, yet there is something fundamentally soul-moving in the music they create when played well. And you played this one well. Hope you're still playing them to this day!
every time I see Jake from the rescuers down under my heart starts to beat fast and my cheeks turn red every time I see him again and again I think in my heart I will always love Jake no matter what.
Olá Joey Wetzels você toca muito bem, sempre estou ouvindo a versão do "Can you the tonight" executada por você.

An amazing video, very well done. God bless you, God bless you all, The world is filled with so many amazing things and one of those things is music and the organ is my favourite musical instrument therefore this music is some of the best in my opinion, also Elton John is very good. these two things combined make this video one of my all time favourite's! Thank you! -SquareBiscuitProductions
I love jow u play on that organ.. I hope u can try to platy a big threatre pipe organ somday..in a 3thousand seat theatre .like the Detroit fox theatre it fun..check it out on u tube..it has 37 ranks just the sound of it in there ..shakes the building..w the 32 ft.sub base..i hope u can do an organ visit soon in the states
WOW, gave me goosebumps. There is nothing grander than the sound of a wonderful old pipe organ!!! In the U.S. the organ is pretty much a dead instrument. There is absolutely no organ music available except the classical stuff. I'm used to using piano scores and arranging my own organ adaptations. :(
Jim Key that's true. here in the Netherlands the organ is also almost dead. it's really sad but we all hope the organ will be saved some day. do you know David Johnson? he is an american organist and wrote many pieces. l also have a video of his Trumpet Tune in D. thanks for your nice comment!
every organ builder i know (which is quite a few) is busy. my church just installed a *second* pipe organ. they were making the same complaint in Bach's day - there will always be an audience for good music, despite the low standards of the masses. keep playing.
I just got to have a go ot my local Tracker Pipe Organ. well not play but i was able to play some nice sounds ,for the first time. I cant play properly yet. This organ I was using is from 1899.
Beautiful playing Joey! This appeared in my listing as I was listening to the Scott brothers channel (more organ music). I hope you continue to learn and play.
Hello Joey Wetzels! A wonderful recording, registration changes and variations are super! Follow in the great footsteps of Gert van Hoef and you'll continue on doing wonderful organ performances. Study and practice wisely, my friend. Be sure there are no obvious errors or mistakes before you post to TH-cam. This will keep your reputation in strong position. Go for Organ Olympics!

Hi, Joey! A Facebook Friend of mine, Joe Romesberg (an organist), was thoughtful enough to share this video of yours with me. You're doing a fine job on the organ, Joey. Keep up the great work. I wish you great success and happiness in your musical career!
Sad how the pipe organ is seen as only a church instrument by such a large number of people, when it could be effectively utilized for great things. See Interstellar for example. Or the Macy's department store in Wanamaker Hall, Philadelphia. I suppose their size and price tag contribute to this, however.
I'm getting married in a church where we only can have an organ for music, this is the best version of the song i've heard on the organ so far! where do i get the things i need to give to the organist for her to be able to play it this exact way? :-)
I've listened to the song 20 times and it reminds me that one day i will finly be loved. Thank you for this video.
Of course you will . I’m sure your loved now . I know at times it sure seems like we’re not but we are . May God bless you and keep your head up

I'm a 16 year old Upright Bassist. One of the instruments I want in my selection is the Pipe Organ... Truly a king of all instruments.

que dire de plus, l'orgue le plus grand des instruments, une beauté à couper le souffle, merci à l'organiste ^pour ce morceau qui donne des frissons

This made me cry. So beautiful x
this organ does this song so much justice
Beautifully played
There's a calm surrender
To the rush of day
When the heat of a rolling wave
Can be turned away
An enchanted moment
And it sees me through
It's enough for this restless warrior
Just to be with you
And can you feel the love tonight?
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we've got this far
And can you feel the love tonight? (Tonight)
How it's laid to rest?
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
There's a time for everyone
If they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope
Moves us all in turn
There's a rhyme and reason
To the wild outdoors
When the heart of this star-crossed voyager
Beats in time with yours
And can you feel the love tonight? (Tonight)
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we've got this far
And can you feel the love tonight? (Tonight)
How it's laid to rest?
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
Zeer indrukwekkend,prachtige song Joey,dankjewel.
So touching, I love organ music!
In all fairness, the original already sounds like "You will never walk alone".
Beautiful playing.
This pipe organ version is so much more relaxing than the original. Don’t get me wrong Elton John is the all time OG but the sound of the organ combined with no percussion really makes it sound like a work of god 😌😌
It sounds like straight up a religion song with the organ
But the most religion song like is definitely he lives in you

What pieces do you like to hear? I can't promise but l always can try:)
Beautiful!!
God nigthsleep . Min vaggvisa till natten
At least this song has a melody that can be played on the organ. So much modern pop music when you break it down, has no melody at all.
A wonderful version on what I consider the best instrument, I am no professional but love the music an organ produces and when played right like this they come into their own :), keep it up
bravissimo celestiale
So pretty.
You make the best off the best good luck👍
Amazing🤩😢🤧
Nice use of the various colors of the organ! Bravo!
