The #ACL or Anterior Cruciate Ligament is one of many important structures of your knee and plays a key part in overall stability of the knee. Located inside the knee joint, it originates from the back edge of your femur (thigh bone) and inserts on the front edge of your tibia (shinbone).
Its main role is to prevent any excessive forward torsion of the knee and shinbone, as well as excessive rotational movements. Kinesiology #taping is one form of stability treatment that can help to maintain support of the knee!

I diagnosed with a conplete near tear of acl.. Half a year later after the injury well its about to be two years from injury.. There have been times when my knee has swollen ... I couldnt get hold of treatment ofcourse because of the cost..but i still play .. Maybe if you guide me over kt taping properly

Sandy Gregory clearly we wouldn’t use this if the ACL has not been diagnosed or considered for surgical opinion but we have used it in acute cases to get people to hospital to get the right advice and treatment

Hey mate sorry to hear that you did your ACL. I did mine last year and it is not an easy injury. If you recently did your ACL then it means that you’ll need a surgery to fix it and you’ll be off sport for around 9-12 months. This tape is used for athletes when returning to sport to support and protect the ACL once back to sport. It does not mean that you can play with a torn ACL unfortunately. I hope it gets better for you soon mate, good luck with the rehab
@@omart2500 Hey, now I know that I have fully torn my acl, doctor says it needs 4 months of rehab like exercises and cycling and more…. he says it will be ok and i will play the same but with brace on knee
@@vojtechtaborsky2937 I would recommend getting a second opinion, if your acl is not fixed it and you go back to sport, you could damage another parts of the knee needing a more difficult treatment in the future.
@@carlosmondragon8767 depends how old you are. If the kid is 13 they don't typically do surgery because he is still growing, knee surgeries on youth can cause differences in leg length that is irreversible.
