Good video. You had a good eye to catch that split. Poor officer in the back of the Gurka (sp) unit looked like he was in pain 😢

7:27 you can see it split. Also a CSGT at the back of the band!!

Well spotted! Great video. The drum still sounds good though, wonder if they just carry on and hope they can do the march back 🤔.

The Scots will better think twice before letting an Irish Guards drummer shred their bass drum again :D

Great video! Well spotted! I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often, considering how hard some Time beaters hit those things.
    The marches played were,
    1) 0:51-Holyrood
    2) 4:12-Birdcage Walk
    3) 7:29-Sons of the Brave

He's amazing! Always enjoy watching him play. I believe he is Lance Sergeant Lee according to the Scots Guards band member list.

Merci pour cette belle vidéo. Bravo à la fanfare qui joue à la perfection malgré le vent. Nous aimons l'armée britannique et particulièrement les "Gurkas". Thanks

Lol, just to joke around, the cymbal player turned and looked at 7:39. I can imagine in his head, "Dang it playing too hard again" 😅

Haha! He definitely thought that! LSgt Lee seems to have a good sense of humour by the way he acts, as in a video he appears to stick his tongue out at the camera. 🤣

just a couple genuinely curious questions--- do they carry spare drum heads? are they able to fit a new one on and tune it in time for the return march? And, do the different divisions have slightly different march styles? the master sergeant in the back seems to have different marching step than the Gurkhas.

@@Nathan.150 well yes obviously, however, I am talking about this specific case and the return march. Spare heads are obviously not carried along.

I think officer in back is in pain. Look at him and compare his step to the officer in front. I will say that I’ve seen different individual steps or styles within bands and regiments. Some seem to glide along. Some seem like they are plodding.

You can see the drumhead is torn on the right side during the end. Either too much tension or hit it too hard. Doesn't happen too often but it does happen
