    My husband had his on as he was making his LAST cut of the day, when he awkwardly held his CS to make a cut on a large log & it bounced off the log cutting N2 his chaps. He was AMAZED how it jammed up instantly stopping the saw. It Caught him on his upper thigh, scared the hell out of him & me when he came N2 Show me how it protected his leg. TOTALLY getting another pair today. This could have been such a Serious accident had he just have his logger jeans on. There were still 3 fabric layers under the Chaps un-touched. Such a Scary moment in time. Stay Safe - Wear Chaps ! 👍

      @@ZoonCrypticon Takes few minutes to remove the site plate and pull the fibres from around the sprocket and the chain itself. It's like trying to cut through dry palm tree long leaves they will stop anything from turning even 25 hp ride on lawn mowers.

    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

    I am not a woodworker but you bet if i ever would be one i would buy a ton of these chaps. Better safe than sorry.

    • @kontsombos7540
      @kontsombos7540 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From $103 to $196 a pair you wouldn't be able to buy them even by the kilo let alone by the ton. Average Stihl chaps weight is 0.884 kg. One ton weight is 907.18 kg. That's equal to over 907 pairs of chaps x minimum of $103 a pair equals $93421 thousand dollars for a ton of average Stihl chaps or $177.772 thousand dollars if you buy the more expensive of $196 a pair . Is that what you had in mind when you said ''i would buy a ton of these chaps'' or you thought that it will be a couple a hundred dollars for a ton ?

      Electric saws generate 100%torque from 0 to max rpms. Gas saws generate high torque through a narrow range of rpms and are easier to stall out. Electric saws can push through the fibers for a little while longer than a gas saw. These are still very good at stopping an electric chainsaw but they dont do it as fast. It can help keep you safer than nothing.

    • @timothylegg
      @timothylegg 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@clearcreekdairygoats4135 Electric motors are very high torque, but the torque consumes large amounts of current. I wonder if there is a circuit breaker that can interrupt quickly enough.

    • @overPowerPenguin
      @overPowerPenguin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timothylegg Yes, you could install a overload breaker even directly with the extension cord you use.
      They are fast, but should be used specifically for the maximal power rating your tool can draw in normal use, so that they do the job in time.
