- With so many trains running on the rail lines today, it is quite common to see two or more trains meeting or racing each other. This video is a collection of train meets and races! You will see many different trains from all over the United States. Steam, diesel, electric, passenger, and freight trains are all featured. All aboard!

Thanks for the comment! That horn at 0:19 is an RS3L which is basically a newer version of the S3L. The first cabbage on that train was out testing. It is now a regular on that set.

Darlene Kenny Hayes It's not an Amtrak train although it has amtrak coaches and a locomotive behind the steam engine. This is a passenger excursion train. It consists of many different types of passenger cars.

I very seldom rode Metra when I worked in Chicago. I was more of a CTA kinda guy, but the Metras were more like "real" trains.

That unit was built in Sacramento, but was then transferred via California Zephyr

I used to work in Santa Fe Springs, and have been in that exact situation there before. Two BNSF’s, one starting to cross as another one clears, and finished off with a Metrolink.

Did you know that a lot of the train meets and passes are from California and a lot of the meets are passenger trains from Amtrak, Coaster and Caltrain along with a few freights? California seems to get the lion's share of the train meets largely thanks to Union Pacific and BNSF who own and operate the tracks.
