Winter Washington Snow Trains

- The Winter of 2021 brought a significant amount of snowfall to the Pacific Northwest, including Western Washington. In this video, we will see Amtrak, Sounder, BNSF, and Tacoma Rail trains operating around Puget Sound and in the Cascade Mountains. At the end of the video, we will go back and revisit some scenes of Amtrak Cascades and a special SC-44 Charger locomotive test train that were captured in January of 2020.

Just want you to know this is my toddler’s absolutely favourite video of all time at the moment, and he loves everything you’ve got. It’s fantastic living in a world where something like this is so easy to find. A traditional TV show about trains, whether for kids or adults, would be interspersed with minutes of dialog and other variety that would lose him in an instant. Thanks for putting these together, and just sticking to the content. We love it!
Literally just showed my toddler and every time a train went past, he said “more”.
My 1 year old will say Choo Choo? And I know he wants to watch trains. The children's meuseum here has model trains and he loves them!!
Currently watching it with my 2 year old daughter. We have watched it at least once every day for over a week now. We call it “winter trains”. I absolutely loved trains when I was kid and would have killed to be able to watch something like this. Thanks for allowing me to create special memories with my daughter.

Lots of good scenes here, Washington is a beautiful state.
Having spent summers and Holidays with my Auntie and Uncle right outside Anaconda Missouri, I'm well acquainted with trains. The tracks were only about 75 feet from their house and down a slight embankment. When the trains passed by you could see a bit more than the top third of all the cars. At night you could hear them approaching for several minutes beforehand and they shook the whole house. It is the most incredible memory. Every time I hear a train now it takes me back to the 50's and 60's. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. ❤️

I recognized the rescued amtrak engine that was picked up in Skykomish. That was an exciting day for Skykomish on the cam.

Seeing Trains In The Snow Is Great
I lived two miles east of Skykomish. The winter trains just kept going. Between the train and right of way crews and the Plow operators it was hard work BUT the trains usually got through.

This clip at 8:00 really surprises me, because those are Amtrak Midwest SC-44s on what appears to be an Empire Builder. Not a very common sight, I'd say! Really cool to see odd stuff like that.
You never fail to brighten my day with these really cool adventures! Funny thing, as of the time i'm typing this, it's gonna snow today and all weekend making 2 feet of snow!

It's really great to see that the GP60B units are still in active service probably of lasted longer than the SD45B units that have almost all of already been scrapped

I definitely liked this video, but for the people who aren't just trolling, my best guess for the dislikes are some clips are not "trains." Myself included, I consider a train to have multiple cars and engines. I love trains and would always be bummed about seeing short ones or just engines. My second guess is people were probably expecting trains to plow through the snow.
