As a manager of a rental car office, it's one of my favorites. It seems to be just right; comfortable seats, nice size backup screen, user friendly. It's definitely on par with the Rav 4. It's one I would actually buy.
I hit the 'dislike' button because I'm sick of people badmouthing NISSAN's CVT, which works great! It's just about the best CVT out there & much better than traditional automatics.
Nissan knows what they are doing. The power output is adequate and the CVT suites it just fine. THIS IS NOT A SPORTS CAR so there is no need to ditch the CVT. You want sporty handling and a little more go, that's what the Mazda CX-5 is for. I own a 2014 and am a family of 5, outside of the recalls (which were promptly taken care of) this thing has delivered in every way. Wind noise, engine noise, none of that matters in family hauler. The kids are so loud they drown out the 9 speaker system on occasions. Get the CVT out of the Maxima - YES, but it suites the Rogue just fine.
Cagroetry Also, if the CVT is going to cost families money, then yes, there is reason ditch it. That actually happened when my friend had a Rogue and because it costed him and his family a lot of money, they had to get rid of that car.
Actually it's because the SL (the one with leather) has a Bose sound system. There's a Bose subwoofer in the back. It can't fit there with the third row.
I was about to buy the 2017.5 Rogue SV, with the moonroof package, But I hear the 2018 Rogue is being released either the ending of October or early November. So I'll just wait , maybe the SV will have a bigger screen center console.
I really like the Nissan Rogue. It gets great mpg and is comfortable and easy to drive. It can even come with a 360 camera which makes it extremely easy to park.
It’s not that the electric boot door is working 50% of the time but rather the fact that you should step back after signaling your presence so the proximity sensors sees that try w door will not hit you. #besmart

We’ve got 60k on the clock now on our 2017 Nissan Rogue SL Platinum AWD. No problems, except when the battery went bad the dash threw all kinds of crazy codes and the lights (inside and out) stayed bright. I had no idea what was wrong and had it flat bedded in to dealer. This Rogue is quiet and more refined in every way than our 2012, but I still prefer the 2012 as a daily driver. Even though it’s the top trim-level seat, I can’t get comfortable in it like the 2012. Seat comfort tends to be subjective, so I would still recommend it to anyone needing a reliable used car. The next model is even better. Family member has a 2023. Great vehicles across all models.

A little too broad there. They brought in a lot of contract workers after the recession, but they have converted quite a few of those to Nissan's payroll. The contract workers are making $15-18 per hour, which is on par with entry level workers at GM and Volkswagen and compares well with other manufacturing in the region. They do have benefits, though not as good as what Nissan direct employees have. Unfortunately contract employees are here to stay in US manufacturing. Even UAW shops are farming out part of the operation to contractors and on-site vendor operations to hold costs down so they can compete with Mexico. Most of the folks in that $15/hr job were making $12 at their last one so they are happy to be there.
Can you tell me about the break pedal on the car?. Why in the middle and why so damn hard to press?. Or did I get an older car? I really want to like it but my foot hurts only after 5 minutes
I've been waiting for the 2017 Rogue to come out due to some of the changes. Looking for a daily commuter that gets OK MPG. Hoping they will be available in the next month or so even though dealers have literally 100's of 2016's to sell that I'm sure you could get a decent price on now. Like the new Blue color as well. The older Blue was OK but had more gray in it and was kinda dull looking.
Interesting reflection... 10 years ago in 2007, the midsize sedan market was the hottest segment in the US. Nissan that year introduced the redesigned Altima (their best seller), along with an Altima Hybrid, to take on the also-then-new Toyota Camry Hybrid. Fast forward about ten years, the compact SUV is the top segment in the US, with RAV4 and Rogue now outselling Camry and Altima. Toyota introduces a RAV4 Hybrid and Nissan takes them on with the Rogue Hybrid.
I just don't enjoy Roman anymore. Anytime he jas a cvt-equipped car he drills into are heads how much he doesn't like them. Dude shut up, we get it the last 39 times you said it. That being said, I love my cvt in my 2014 Maxima hehe.
29mpg is good? I've considered anything under 40mpg to be poor the last 20 years. When looking these days, I look for north of 50mpg, my Qashqai returns around 60mpg.
60 with a diesel, right? One thing you have to keep in mind is that imperial gallons are quite a bit bigger than US gallons. This Rouge would get 35 mpg on the imperial scale. You also have to keep in mind that US drivers will not put up with the small engines that are generally used in European models and also that US models tend to be heavier in order to meet US crash standards (it usually takes an additional 150+ pounds just to meet the rear impact requirements).
That was with US Gallons - we measure in L/100KM over here, I used Google to convert the actual values I get into US gallons. My mileage in Imperial would be around 74mpg. The Nissan/Renault 1.5L diesel is a very refined engine and will get the Qashqai up to about 110 - 120mph cruising speed on autobahn - although obviously it won't get decent mileage at that speed!
David Wright Unfortunately diesels are few and far between here. The diesels we do have end up not being all that great after they manage to choke them down with emissions equipment.
I got nissan altima with cvt before it never let me down i like cvt gear so now many germany American even korian put cvt gear in thr cars and still ppls complain hhh
Hi, TFL Team, I own two 2017 Nissan Rogues SV and SL. My only grievance with them is smaller fuel tank. I have to gas them up very often. Whereas my 2017 Maxima SR It takes 70L and gives me 800km. Whereas Rogue takes only 55L and it gives me about 500km. Which means more trips to gas station and I hate it. I wish Nissan would put bigger tank in it. Please pass this question to Nissan and I will wait to watch video where you could get me any answer from Nissan. Cheers!!!
OutOfThisWorldTV I like the rogue but it's slower than my Altima. I might wait till the 2019 come out. Supposedly it will be different. And hopefully apple car play! it's weird that they didn't add CarPlay to the new rouge sport
Cars like this are why I don't like Nissan anymore. Back in 90's and early 2000's they actually made fun to drive cars and they were a popular brand with enthusiasts. Now their main focus is cars that are bloated, CVT laden trash. I've driven a few new Nissans as rental cars for work and they are some of the worst cars I've ever driven. Besides fuel economy there is nothing to like about them. If you want a fun to drive car that gets great gas mileage at a decent prize, buy a Mazda instead. They're better cars in every way.
I drove the 1.6L diesel CVT Qashqai and the gearbox was fairly refined. That said, the fuel consumption wasn't that good, so I went with the 1.5L diesel with manual transmission. I getting around 60mpg and the 1.6L CVT only gets around 48mpg
I think they're getting back to that slowly but surely. Turbo Sentra coming soon, and I wouldn't doubt a Turbo Z eventually. Diesel Titan is out and I bet a Diesel Frontier is coming soon too.
I see what you're saying, but Nissan couldn't stay sporty because consumers preferred boring and bland hence Toyota and Honda flourished while Nissan lacked in sales. So it was either adapt or take their bankruptcy to the end. So hopefully they'll get back there, but people don't like sport cars anymore. So, I'm glad they're still here, regardless how boring they may be.
xomthood mines 5 years old, goes off road and tows, used for work- no issues. Nissan has been doing CVTs a long time now. They know what they are doing
What the hell is he talking about. There's no camera on the roof. There's a camera mounted behind the windshield there's one on each exterior door mirror and your backup camera. There's no camera on the roof so if you have a whistle there something else wrong with your vehicle

OutOfThisWorldTV not at reliable as you'd think. The CVT on my 2013 Rogue went just after the warranty expired and Nissan did nothing, leaving me with a $4500 repair bill.
So poor that this day and age cars still don't have rear seats that slide back to allow more room. Alex reviews are excellent; he is quite a humble dude. I am hoping some day Roman will have comparo which all wheel drive is top dog in snow and ice. Your'e supposed to kick like a girl to open hatch on first try.

Actually the NISSAN ALTIMA is Nissans best selling car because based on sales number the ALTIMA outsells the ROGUE by 10:1
Hi, TFL Team,
I own two 2017 Nissan Rogues SV and SL. Cheers!!!
Mogambo bizarre, we get bigger tanks in our XTrail which your Rogue is based on.
Its official nissan rogue beat crv and rav4 in sales. (Feb - March 2017) Congrats! 😍🤤
this sport wont lol
Jae Montage it already did
But the sport didn't come out in march
Jae Montage ohh smaller rogue yea its not part of it. Im talking about regular
Diesel Titan is out and I bet a Diesel Frontier is coming soon too.
insane
I see what you're saying, but Nissan couldn't stay sporty because consumers preferred boring and bland hence Toyota and Honda flourished while Nissan lacked in sales. So it was either adapt or take their bankruptcy to the end. So hopefully they'll get back there, but people don't like sport cars anymore. So, I'm glad they're still here, regardless how boring they may be.
Like everything but the CVT makes it a no go. I expect to keep my new cars 10 years. Everything I research indicates the CVT won't last the distance.
xomthood mines 5 years old, goes off road and tows, used for work- no issues.

Why do people always think that these types of vehicles are for racing??? Go get a Fcking sports car!!!
In Denmark it's called
Nissan x-trail
It's ALEX!!!!
Never really considered rogue but hey maybe ill consider it because i heard its super reliable and plus now it looks so nice too thanks to you guys :). thank you for the review. As always great job, let me know if u like my content 🤔
Your'e supposed to kick like a girl to open hatch on first try.
tiredrummertube the back seats do slide back, he just didn't.
