Great talk by mom! I don't care how long you've been gardening or how deep your knowledge is, there were definitely pearls of wisdom in her discussion. I can't wait to watch your urban garden unfold. As much property as you have there, you should be able to knock it out of the ballpark.
Yea!!!!sooooo proud of y'all for encouraging us to try growing our own garden..start small..you said it..ty..xoxo blessings to y'all in every way ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Asa’s Mother is a true sweetheart! I could listen to her talk all day!!! She’s a very intelligent woman!!! Can’t wait to see all the plants 🌱 growing in a couple of weeks..: I’ve gotten some seeds about 10 different things to grow!!! Abbie can’t wait to see you and your Dad planting different kinds of foods...
I see that they have shut down Fathering Autism and Pots Pans and Priscilla. We love your family and hope things get straighten out soon. You two are good people.
So much fun. My husband always has a garden. Last year I grew cucumbers at my sons house with my four and two year old grandsons in a pot on their deck. They absolutely loved taking care and watching them grow. They were so proud to eat them. So this year we are going to to it again and do some sweet pepers too. I figure Ill add a new plant every year lol
I learned a trick with carrot seeds. You know how tiny they are. After you sprinkle your seeds on the soil, cover the area with a board. That way the seeds won’t get washed away, and after a number of them have sprouted take the board off. I learned this from Jessica at Roots and Refuge. Happy Gardening!! 🥕
@@jessicalynam7356 I’m so sorry to be a pest, but I have a question. Do I need to plant the carrot seeds into those little square things first, or just put the seeds in the dirt where they will be planted with boards over the planter box? I live in San Diego if that matters. 😄🫶
Asa it is great you have your mom a master gardener, giving you advice and tips, your mom is a lovely lady. Looking forward to your plants growing and you all enjoying there yield. Asa have you thought of growing potatoes? Also why are you talking about getting rabbits, I can understand the quails they produce eggs, what go you gain from the rabbits? Blessings.
I live in Wisconsin, and I envy y'alls growing seasons! OMG! I live off caprese salads during tomato season which for us is only August through mid September.
Your mom reminds me of my aunt. Love hearing what she has to say. my husband and i have been doing our food for the last 6 yrs now. We are gonna try watermelon and sweet peppers added in what we grow all the time.
They were hacked and still trying to recover it. Asa started a new channel same name but with a space between the two words. Fathering Autism. He uploaded 2 videos on it.
OT: I am loving that shirt Asa. I saw that I said DAYUM! That’s a nice mf’in shirt. Seriously, I’d love to grow some stuff up here in southwestern Pennsylvania. I’d like to grow strawberries, blueberries, spring mix. The latter is literally a weed, and if there’s one thing I can grow it’s dandelions.
Thank You Jessica for Educating me on Plants!! I learned a lot, I don"t have a Green Thumb but I will take your Knowledge and Apply it😄Thanks Asa for this Topic, I"m learning a lot from More Maass👍
Your mom is the best! I could listen to her talk about plants for hours. Does she by chance know about succulents? I saw one at Home Depot and it looked sad. I brought it home and watered it and it is growing very tall, I don’t know if I need to do anything with her.
Have you thought about growing corn? It would do well with the bright sun, and there’s something special about fresh corn on the cob cooked up on the grill
What is the name of the squash bush that your Mom was referring to? I'm very interested in that, since I have limited growing space. I've always grown them vertically. Looking forward to the rain barrel video. Great info!
It's not only trendy but man, groceries are expensive. At least if we can grow some stuff it's better than buying everything. I'm in California, I can grow tomatoes almost all year. It's awesome. We started with two tomato plants.
I love me some Mom! I have had a lot of success with just leftover gallon water jugs with a rag going from top soil down to the water underneath to grow my jalapeños for jalapeño poppers! 💋🧚🏻♀️❤️🇺🇸
Rabbits are not meant to live in cages. 🐇 They can be litter box trained just like a cat. They need room to run… zoomies and binkies! It’s so much fun to watch them zoom around your house.

I am struggling with growing potatoes and tips? i last year grew cabbage, zucchini, cucumbers, bell peppers.. my eggplant & green beans they burnt form the heat . Any Tips ? really want to get potatoes down as well.
Determinate plants just have a finite growth, meanin they grow to a certain size and stop. They also produce all their blooms and fruit and then they are done, roughly all at the same time. Indeterminate plants continue to grow and priduce fruit throughout their entire life.
I would find out if you have any flowers that are native to your area first off. They are so much easier to grow and less likely to be bothered by pests. It is good to have a plan. Determine height and diameter of the plants you want. It can be fun to plan.

Lacinato kale is the best variety of kale on the market. It's my favorite food and I have eaten it for 63 years. Portuguese people wound never serve it raw. It's gross and tastes like cardboard. Use it in a soup or a stew, always cook it. It tastes slightly sweet. I usually make a Portuguese soup with beef, split peas, onion, garlic, kale and potatoes.

Awww I Love listening to your mom talk plants and just anything she's such a sweet joy 🥰🥰
You have the best mom ❤ I learned a lot from her. Would love to see her doing canning in the summer.

It takes a lot of work to become a master gardener. She has a lot of knowledge.
Asa, where is Fathering Autism on TH-cam? I watch everyday and now can not find it today?
I also watch every day it's a part of my relaxation nightly your family is AMAZING i need my Abby most importantly❤😊
I can't find it either. I've been subscribed for a while and now it's gone
@stephaniesanders532 some moron hacked fatheringautism and pots pans and priscillas channels
Same it's disappeared for me as well.
Asa posted on their Facebook page yesterday (Thurs. 3/7) that their TH-cam channel got hacked. 😢
They are working with TH-cam to fix the problem.
I know this is a weird question for this vlog, but did something happen to the Fathering Autism TH-cam page?

This was so great! I’m an amateur gardener and she taught me so much! Please tell her thank you! 🙏
If your mum ever visits England please send her to visit me! I'd happily sit and talk about growing food all day long.
I love seeing your mom in videos! We are starting our own garden also! Your mom definitely needs her own channel!!❤❤❤❤

Love this definitely using her expertise for my starting garden this summer. Our issue in Colorado is you can’t keep it going all year.
Thank you for your video
Your mum is so lovely xx
Thoroughly interesting Asa. Your mom is full of information!! I would love to do some gardening but I have WAY too many deer and they eat everything!!
One thing that’s been interesting is that tomatoes are tasting awful from grocery stores. So what you’re doing is interesting!
So are carrots 😢
I am so very excited to see this continue. I wish I had time. I would love to grow strawberries. But San Antonio gets hot & humid
What a fun educational video! Your mom is awesome! 😊❤

I am excited for the rain home irrigation system.

You could plant potatoes. Also some winter veggies are greens and cabbage that we plant in the lowcountry of S C.

I don't see the links to the planters in the description.
I would do green onions since you eat Mexican food a lot. Plant some okra for Celia. They look like a tropical plant!
And okra lives the heat
How do you control squash bugs?

Is Ash from my fire pit healthy to till into my dirt?? I've had mixed opinions about it and it seems like some plants loved it and some didn't.
