- We turned the mysterious hole in the patio into a lovely area for our new DIY fire pit. There's just something about a wood burning fire that soothes the soul.

Your backyard oasis looks great
Ok, I'll build the firepit I've been wanting to add to our backyard. My hubby's going to be thrilled 😅😅😅 I'm the project person in our house, and my husband goes along for the ride.
Do it! Theres really nothing better than sitting by a wood fire 🔥
I was thinking, “He sounds just like Abigail’s dad”! Oh. There’s Abigail’s mom! 😂
This is so much fun, whooo!
I know u can’t use it probably but I laughed gotta get some wood - massive pile right next to you 😂
lol I was going to say body lol . Here in England there used to be a program on channel 4 called Brookside and there was a whole storyline about someone being buried under the patio .
Watched the entire video, loved it. The fire pit is gorgeous. There’s something so mesmerising about sitting and watching the flames dance, I think it’s one of those things that truly allows you to relax😊
As I don’t have a man around the house, I tackle projects myself and although I won’t be building a fire pit, your handy dandy vids are very helpful, so thank you Asa.
Thats a beautiful fireplace!
Isaiah laugh is the best
Great job Asa!
The fire pit looks amazing! Love it! Great job! It looks very similar to the one my brother made in S. Fl near his pool. When I visited 2 months ago we sat out there every night drinking🍷 after watching sunset, sure miss that.
Great job, Asa❤
looks awesome! great job Asa!
Looking good Priscilla
Omg laughing so hard but loving this video and the finale look. You are so handy I wish I could do this
I’m thinking there was a portable hot tub there because they may have dug it up for issues with plumbing.
Looks great ,so when you inviting me for a barbecue lol I’m in London so it might take me a while to get there lol
That’s so beautiful, good work Asa
Nice job Asa!
That's looks awesome! Always thought a fire pit was needed back there. When you guys have the lights on around the pool at night it looks so awesome and needed a fire feature. Can't wait for the pond expansion, that's going to be a big job.
great job love your fire pit
Loving It!
Good job Asa.😁😁😁
ty..xoxo blessings to y'all in every way ❤️ ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice works. It looks good. Good job Asa.
End result = very impressive ❤
That's beautiful Asa
That turned out great!
I absolutely love your project ideas Asa and this firepit is one of your best ideas so far. It looks amazing and I hope you guys really enjoy chilling around it.
Thanks! We love it too
Great job!
Love it. Great job!
Awe, Mr Asa! The new firepit looks AMAZING! 👏🤯🤟🤗👍🥳
I'd burn the old deck wood! Recycle! LOL
This makes me want to fix up my yard! Too bad I rent lol
Looks Fantastic, Asa … nice job!
Love it !!!
Wow Looks Beautiful 😀
Getting out bug territory. Great Comeback 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
Bodies for sure
That's awesome
I love this!! When is the next margaritas and bonfire gathering? Great job!!
Heeheehee probably a serial killers graveyard... 😂 Probably something to do with fixn the pool.... 😂
It must be graves of all the folks that love to criticize y’all on Facebook! 😂
I absolutely believe there are hidden bodies under there. Time to get the shovels out and start digging lol.
Bodies. Always bodied
no one: ...
*Asa standing on a pile of dry wood... "I gotta get some wood!" 😂
😂😂
Now you can cut up those old boards and use it as fire wood, or at least kindling. Great job, Asa!!
Are you going to reuse the wood you pulled up before doing this project. I mean I know it'll burn pretty quickly, but it's free wood??💞💞 Love these projects.
Add a layer of mulch glue on top of the pea gravel to keep it in place, less wash out
Could that area have been used to drain pool floats/toys? Kind of like an outdoor shower floor?
Hi love 🤗😘 very nice here😊
Wow! I think it would be stressful having 2 people giving instructions at once.
I love this channel.. I am such a project person so this is right up my alley
I’ve been waiting not very patiently for another post to more Maass. I love it!!! Looks great Asa!
Great job Asa and the fire pit just finishes the project nicely. I'm with Cilla do not do creepy crawlies. The end with the burning firepit looked fantastic. Blessings.
Love your time and care to make sure it is level. Great job, Asa. Priscilla had me cracking up when she was in the deck chair feet up because there were bugs.
I think its a mixture of 2 & C underground bomb shelter with bodies buried in the dirt. 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 Asa says there could be bodies buried underneath and we hear sirens lol🤣🤣🤣 Love the firepit! Great job! If you don't want the sand to wash away then get the polymeric sand for pavers and it hardens like concrete so it doesn't wash away
Lol
I couldn’t help but laugh when you were talking about dead bodies buried in the mysterious spot and in the background we could hear sirens as if the popo were on their way to your house to investigate.
"We need to get some wood!" ....Large pile of scrap wood 2 inches away....😂
I think a pool plumbing issue. But the stairs to the bomb shelter is an interesting twist.
Priscilla is such a GIRL! I definitely understand her!
Could you make use of those old boards somehow? Maybe a framed accent wall or something like that.
No, they were very rotted
Love the pavers and firepit, but the archeologist in me really wanted to go all the way down to the original ground level and see what was there.
Hello beautiful Maass family ❤️ 😘
Whatever happened with those melted fans?? I am so curious!!!
I am the supervisor of the job usually. Could the spot have been something to do with their plans to make the garage apartment into a kitchenette with the washroom?
It looks beautiful. Great job 👏🏼 ❤
I like the bomb shelter possibility.
Cilla new name is princess Thor
You might have to move your hammock because of floating embers?
Curious - the other sections near the brick borders appear to be filled with concrete. Why did you not use concrete for this section?
... that's creativity at it's best. Great job guys
Asa did you just say “push broom” I find it so funny that Americans state the obvious…..
Push broom- Broom
Horse back riding- horse riding 😂😂😂
I would wonder if there was a org. Blu prints or history of the land
Where did Pricilla get her top? I love it! Bloomchic?
I’m going with stairwell and grave options…
Eat job Asa 😊
Thanks Asa! I was in the process of building my fire pit and had the bricks spaced out already and had bought a ring insert, but I like your idea so much better. Just hit up Lowe’s and brought my fire pit home. I’m a little stressed about the loose spacing on the bricks but I’m pretty sure I’ll get over it. 🤣🤣🤣
Hot tub. It is an HOT TUB
It thinks it’s an extension from the “flower bed” to the right of it and it was in the way so they took the flowers/shrubs out and covered it
Cant you burn the old boards you pulled up from that spot?
I'm thinking there was a portable hot tub there.
But just in case, you should have checked for a bomb shelter.
Well you might have to return the gravel.
Most definitely bodies buried underneath of there! 🧟♂️🧟♀️🧟
Its bodies with buried treasure underneath all of which is there because plumbing issue from the pool caused them to remove the concrete!
Just need to open a bottle of wine now and sit by the fire 🔥🍷
Extra garden space to hide the bodies.
I think its the dead bodies.. lol
Option 4). Jacuzzi?
I’m going with bodies lol
But if it was a plumbing issue (which I have chosen as the most plausible but boring cause) why is the brick trimmed around it??? I am changing my answer to something much more intriguing 🤔 I haven't decided what that is yet 😂
Pool problem
Asa, I totally get what you’re both saying! Construction projects NEVER come off as you think or hope they will. That’s just the nature of the beast. Still think you did an amazing job!
🌸 💙💙💙
The bomb shelter would have been interesting.
There's no protected plant species on top, so that rules out the bodies 😉
You probably know this because you are smarter than me, but just FYI - we got those same bricks to put around my friends firepit that we built, and they all broke apart after a few years. Granted, we were stupid and reckless and had giant bonfires with intense heat multiple times (we would burn giant wooden spools that my friend would get from his job running cable, and there was even one time where we decided to burn a recliner...yes, you read that right lol), so you will probably not have that issue. But...just wanted to give you a heads up! 😂😂
Dance floor
Just want to send you a note to pass on to Cilla that Costco has big bottles of Okra in a 2 pack right now at least at the Lauterdale Costco
Might find Jimmy Hoffa😂
