Welcome back Mr. Clark 🎉. You have been missed. Watercolor Wednesday without your smiling face just isn’t the same.😢. I hope you and Miss Margot are doing well, and your little dogs too!
And what is any Wednesday without a Wonderful Watercolor done brilliantly by my favorite artist? But of course, it is a day without sunshine! Much as your rays of sunshine were so sadly missed this past week, it only made this early morning's gift that much more to savor each and every stroke of your brush. I might be one of the very few who have never seen Forest Gump, but I do believe that your replay of Forest's litany of culinary shrimp delights has inspired me to spend this evening with a lovely glass of wine, my trusty rigger, etc and having a go at this wonderful old shrimp trawler whilst listening to this classic. Wish me luck that I do proper justice to the ole Jenny! 👩🦳🖌️
Thanks a lot for your tutorials! I used to paint in watercolor at school but almost dropped it in later years. When I returned to painting about three years ago, I've been sticking to acrylics since. You helped me rediscover the magic of watercolor! This summer I attend weekly pleinairs in my city!
Happy you are back! Hope you enjoyed your trip! I had zero interest in painting this tutorial until I watched the video. Now I can’t wait to give it a go! Thanks again for all you give!
Thank you so much for the wonderful variety of subjects you cover. I'm a novice painter, but with your help I really feel like I'm making progress! The shrimp boat was certainly a challenge for me, but I really loved painting it....and again, I learned loads! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I started doing watercolors from your videos, thank you. I have been painting for two years, one of which was oil, but now I love watercolor. I hope to do one day attend one of your workshops. Keep painting and sharing your knowledge.
Very enjoyable to watch. Your deft brushwork brings on a smile. Thank you for showing your efforts in their entirety, particularly corrections and improvements after reviewing.
Thanks Paul. Peter from Noosa Australia. Great painting, love forest. Thanks particularly for your technique and helpful hints. I so much enjoy your paintings. Please keep them coming. Peter B.
It’s great to see you back! Love this painting. My husband’s cousin has a shrimp boat like this. We live where Forest Gump supposedly grew up. Shrimping season started June 1. It’s pretty cool to be out on the water waiting for the season to start. All the boats about to put their nets in the water. My husband and I have gone shrimping in a smaller boat. He’s working on building a bigger boat right now so we can start shrimping again. Your impersonation of Forest Gump might need some improvement. 😉Lol. Come stay for awhile here and we can paint these boats plein air style and eat some Shrimp gumbo. It’s delicious! 🍤🍜🥖
Hello from India! Thanks so much Paul, both your painting & presentation style is great & prompts one to have a go, nothwithstanding, as in my case, the talent or the ability!
That was quite a movie, love your boat painting. I think I still have the two disk collection of music and songs from the movie. We all pray they find the small submarine in trouble during these current times. Very glad you all had a safe trip.
Amazing. And heartwarming to remember such a great film. Thank you for the tutorial. Especially helpful tip about the black and white photo to check values! Thank you
The further down the Shrimp Menu you got, the more "deep Southern fried" your accent got lol. Your rigging was masterful, and quite magical to watch you paint it. Kept holding my breath for you on the rigging, but no need...
Peter from Noosa again. A little p.S. We are in England at the moment. Having arrived 11 days ago we have enjoyed great weather. Don’t know what you all complain about. Every day is warm and sunny. Hope this continues for the rest of summer. Have fun. Peter
Good afternoon, dear Paul! Nice composition, beautiful colors, great mood and as all your followers said: welcome back with new ideas and lessons! ❤ Lilia from Moldova
Happy to see you back. One of my favorite places to visit here is Newport Oregon where there is no end to old fishing boats to view. (crab boats mostly) Cant wait to follow along and hang this one on my wall.
Welcolm back. You have both been missed, but what great time you looked to be having. I love this tutorial and can't wait to give it a go. Thanks for all your hard work, talent, inspiration, and teaching👍
I sure miss your weekly painting when you are out having fun and teaching!! Hope two had a fantastic time and welcome back!! LOVED 🥰 your painting today! You make it look so easy!
Thank you, Paul! I have always wanted to paint a boat like this, namely a lobster boat, but this is close enough! Wonderful tutorial! Thanks, from the mountains of Colorado, USA.
This was fun..Getting better at using the rigger !! You have taught me so much and I've had lots of fun in the process!! Thanks so much for sharing your talent..
Thank you so much for your shrimp boat. We often see them as we live in Texas near the Gulf of Mexico. I am going to paint this again and add sand and palm trees.
How delightful 😊!!! Great tribute to Forrest Gump... and your accent was spot on... especially when you said "Jenny" ... Always enjoy your skies and water ... but how you managed those lines with your rigger brush is something amazing! Welcome back, Sir Paul!!! With love and gratitude from a California Gramma ❤️
Welcome back! After this past weeks challenges painting boats, I really struggled with using the rigger to make those quick fine lines. Watching you do it here in this tutorial was so helpful. Thanks so much as always for these wonderful videos, I’ve learned so much from you!
Welcome back! You were missed. Thanks you for the way you took a complicated subject and set it in a simple background. As one of your students who is trying to improve my drawing, I appreciated having one main object on which to focus my effort. And the painting turned out pretty well! Great fun. Thank you!!
Enjoyed watching that Paul. Will definitely give it a go. Really like the boat detail you did even though it was made up. Many thanks for your efforts. Top man on You Tube for me.👍👍👍👏

Amazing Paul, I am always amazed at seeing how a drawing comes to life , taking us with it in our imagination world !! It feels so real and I am ready to sail on it. ,😊❤ So dreamy are your skies and lagoon. ❤ I have tried your technique of painting wet on wet for the skies and water. And have to say it's truly marvelous. Thank-you again, I will definetly try this soon. Keep them coming ❤❤❤❤
