    ✦ GEAR I USE ✦
    📸 Cameras:
    ---------------------------------------------------
I get a lot of questions about the cameras I use. Here are my main cameras:
    • [GoPro Hero 13](amzn.to/4fobat4)
    • [GoPro Hero 13 Creator Edition] (amzn.to/3AqaW5t)
This is a very durable camera. It withstands the elements and can go places other cameras can’t. There are many accessories available for GoPro cameras which makes the camera endlessly customizable and versatile. If you are intending to make vlogs or travel videos where you speak, you might prefer the creator edition which comes with more accessories.
    • [DJI Osmo Pocket 3](amzn.to/4fiXK1q)
    • [DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo] (amzn.to/3YCoClM)
This little handheld camera is very easy to pack because of its small size. It is not as rugged as the GoPro, but is easy to carry and make stable video. I use the creator combo version which includes an additional battery and a microphone that can be clipped to your shirt for improved audio which I like for filming walking tours.
    🔋 Other useful tech:
    ---------------------------------------------------
    • [DJI OM 6](amzn.to/4hEfJRp)
This device attaches to a smartphone to help record more stable video.
    • [GoPro Enduro Battery](amzn.to/4hK8Y0g)
An extra battery for the GoPro.
    • [Anker USB-C Cable](amzn.to/4ek5jUh)
A flexible and durable charging cable that charges quickly.
    • [Anker USB-C Power Bank](amzn.to/40FGsH2)
These are great for recharging my phone or cameras while traveling, and are also useful for power outages.
    • [Anker MagGo Power Bank] (amzn.to/3ABUzTi)
This battery connects directly to the back of iPhones that have MagSafe and can charge the phone without the use of a cable.
    • [Samsung Micro SD Card 256 GB](amzn.to/3O009BY)
This memory card works on most small cameras, and can record for a long time.
    • [Samsung 2TB SSD Portable SSD](amzn.to/4fHJjna)
I take this hard drive with me when I travel so that I can back up the footage that I record on my trip. It fits in one of the pockets inside my tech case, and holds a lot of footage.
    ✈️ Travel gear I like:
    ---------------------------------------------------
    • [Peak Design Travel Duffel](amzn.to/3O0uvEi)
This durable bag fits easily into the overhead compartments on airplanes and the straps can be configured to be comfortably worn as a backpack, which is nice for long walks through an airport.
    • [Peak Design Tech Pouch Large](amzn.to/4ek03jq)
    • [Peak Design Tech Pouch Small] ( amzn.to/40HTfca)
I have both sizes, and have used the larger one consistently for many years. They are incredibly durable, and nicely fit all of my camera gear. I like that I can fit a GoPro inside of the larger one, along with cables, SD Cards, a battery and a small hard drive. People traveling with less gear or less space in their bags might prefer just the smaller pouch.
    • [Wetcat Turkish Beach Towel] (amzn.to/3UJfWc0)
This towel spreads out large, but packs up tiny and dries quickly. I have disliked every other pack towel I have ever used, but this one is made of cotton and feels soft and does not have a funny smell.
    • [Yeti Cooler](amzn.to/3YLM9AK )
Buying food when traveling gets expensive, so I try to pack as much food as I can. This cooler keeps things fresh for a long time. It also means that I can pick up local foods when I go places and bring them home with me.
    🎧 Audiobooks:
    ---------------------------------------------------
I listen to lots of audiobooks while on the road. Get started with a free audiobook here:
    • [Audible](amzn.to/3FQHcvJ)
You might enjoy listening to Forget the Alamo the Rise and Fall of an American Myth (amzn.to/3YLM9AK)

Man, this is great. Thank you. I haven't back to the RGV in 15 years. I was disoriented for like the first 10 seconds, but once I figured you were at the mall I was able to mentally follow every turn. So many memories on these roads. And so much is different! Wow... I wonder if you'll go by the house I grew up in? I'll keep watching and see!

      22:44 Go straight!
26:04 My best friend lived to the left!
27:32 My friends and I once egg'd cars there on the left in high school. But one had a lifted truck and he jumped the curb and chased us, caught us and made us clean it off. Never did it again.
38:55 The Harlingen museum. Such a boring field trip
41:29 MMA! I did their summer camp before I joined the Marines
43:56 I met Nolan Ryan at that airport in like 1994 and got his autograph. He was down in the RGV to hunt.
59:45 I saw Anaconda at that movie theater for a friends b-day party and the film broke. We got a free movie pass I never used before it closed.
1:05:00 Do they still do car meetups in the Bank of America parking lot?
1:06:17 My first job was in that white building. Then home of Harlingen Pets
Aww man, you got close to my childhood home, but didn't get it. Thank you for the trip down memory lane!

All I have to say about Harlingen is that is you looking to scape the buzzing around in a big city, move here is peaceful safe, and cost of leaving is cheap. Beware there’s not a lot going on like a big city would have but. It’s peace and the amount of humble people that live here acomode for it. 👍🏾 over all this is town is like my second home i used to live here for years and is awesome I recommend.

I Live west of here, in the next county over, and when in Harlingen I always get lost. The streets are a headache. The city was not made in a grid, just like Corpus Christi.
