I hope someday everyone buys only the good Marvel Legends figures. Maybe then Hasbro will get the message. But that is actually impossible. That is why we are getting figures like this.
I see it happening already, most of the Thor Love and Thunder line is stinking up every peg I see, some went to clearance *before the movie even came out*
That's if they will actually release good figure at all. They release bad figures all the time, so ok figure seem super good...
This is sad because storm is one of my favorite x-men and this design is my favorite for her. And yes, I'm sick of their decreasing quality and rising prices, they're more expensive than marvel select sometimes, that's ridiculous. People will continue to praise them though because they give us decent articulation and an "accurate" depiction of a character.

Marvel select is awesome ESPECIALLY with bigger size figures like hulk. Sure articulation is limited but there is still lots of mobility considering the awesome sculpts they have been showing recently

I’m done. Two reasons, 1. Having the skills now, thanks to watching your content to be able to asses for myself what good looks like and, 2. The price hike. At this point Hasbro is insulting us and I can get insulted in the street for free.
I better buy 1 Mafex, Figuarts or Amazing Yamaguchi figure, than 1 wave of Hasbro's shit

The M&M's candy car dispenser, the Bionicle show figures, BettelBorgs, Voltron, Pokemon, Power Rangers, Looney Toons and other IP toys that came out of Wendy's and Burger King in the 90's era were designed, QC'd and painted *far* better than these series of "collectibles".
Shame, that.
I don't really care if they keep releasing bad figures, I just keep passing on them. Listening to fanboys pretend they're good is also a source of entertainment.

I recall seeing a post on Reddit with someone talking about how good the Retro Carded Ant Man figure is. I just laughed. Apparently a small chest that’s almost the same size as the waist, thighs that are just as skinny as the shins, and big helmeted head that sits too high on the neck, and big shoulders to go with that skinny chest is a good standard for superhero figures.

Q of the Day: I was already sick of Hasbro’s BS two years ago. I only buy a handful of Marvel Legends a year now, and that’s just to fill in holes in my collection. I used to buy a handful every few weeks. The pandemic has created an echo chamber that has caused Hasbro to completely lose perspective of what’s good anymore. I have to give your revolving stand props, though. It seems to have become sentient. When you put a bad figure on it lately, it screams “Get OFF of me!” inside and makes the figure face plant. You need to name it. 😂

This figure has always been super fucking gummy for some reason and I hate that because you 100% need a flying stand to pose her because she is very top heavy...

So many other "reviewers" gushing over these VHS figures like it's Second Coming of Jesus Christ. And I'm just here, sitting confused looking at this mediocre garbage. But...there are also people who think that retro Spider-Man figure is better then the Mafex one, so I'm not even surprised.
Retro Storm figure was so much better than...this. And it didn't cost 27.99$. It's like 1\3 of some Mafex figure, just ridiculous.

I agree, I got retro Storm off clearance from Target, sooo much better than this turd. Even at full price I wouldn't feel ripped off like I do here (And I didn't even buy the VHS one)
I've slowed down significantly on my Marvel Legends purchasing for this precise reason: Price gouging and lowered standards. Storm in particular I'm happy with her retro card figure, the only two decent VHS figs here are Wolverine (You gave him a critical thrashing but I still like him) and Mr. Sinister (The cel shading actually looks kinda nice on him). Hell even Jubilee is okay once you get rid of her shading (She's still not worth the price tho). Storm has what, new hair? Not even good new hair?
But these prices don't make me excited for new releases, especially when other brands and even figure lines *from the same company* give you a better value. (GI Joe anyone?) Some MLs are worth the money, but that "some" is becoming much smaller. TBH the last release I felt I got my money's worth was that Walmart Doctor Strange. Few issues like the chest emblem being too subtle but far and away better than whatever the hell this is.
You know what's the most frustrating? Diamond Select did a series of busts based on the X-Men cartoon and they look like they leaped out of the TV in terms of looking animated, and I wish they made figures based on the same sculpts. Sure they might be out of scale for Legends but at least we'd have decent versions of the characters.
If not for the very good figures, usually 2 in a wave, most coolectors would be out. The thing that is most outrageous is the Haslab backing for a massive company.
They hold off on the paint because according to their No Way Home 3pack, they use "premium" paint

I canceled all my animated vhs series xmen after realizing that once I get some, I'd be compelled to be a completionist and have to get even the stinkers to complete the box set.
This line of figures reminds me of those Mattel DC superpowers repacks from a few years ago.
Just banking on nostalgia and special types of paint applications that are poorly executed.
Holy Crap I just realized that body is a reuse of the Apocalypse rogue. They really want people to pay $30 + for that. What the Hell happened to the Legends line?
I love whenever anyone says a Toybiz version of ML is better than a modern day Hasbro version of the same ML. Because I love Toybiz MLs to this day. It's a particularly bold claim when it's a female figure in question, because those TB female were rough. They did do a good job on Storm, though.
There are some Toy Biz ML figures which are better than any of their Hasbro’s remakes:
Ghost Riders, Green Goblin, Wolverine VI series, Sabretooth, Sinister, Bullseye, Punisher.

It makes perfect sense. Hasbro will not update the female torso. It's the same torso we've had for a while. I've seen worse but they still think women do not have internal organs.
All these X-men animated figures are just rereleases with new heads.
I love these reviews because they're always entertaining while being honest lol. I almost completely cut ML out of the figures that I buy. The last 2 I bought were the AOA apocalypse and the thanos. I can't remember what 8 got before that.
I love the X-Men cartoon. I will not be buying any of these figures with the fake cel shading. The paint jobs on these are so bad. And the Pulse shipping cost with no threshold for free shipping and a $50 membership fee? Costco is cheaper, and you make your money back in one purchase of tires or a car battery.
Thank you for not giving this a 5 or a 6. This line is hot garbage- a straight re-release would have been miles better. When they announced the Jean Grey, I was psyched to get a cheaper version than the Love Triangle one that I missed. When they showed it, I just bought the old one in a Facebook group. I don’t want to bother with using acetone or w/e to remove the crappy cel shading so I can repaint it myself.
Who out there thinks these look good? I genuinely want to know.

That's so embarrassing. These were so supposed to be a big thing for me as the animated X-MEN was one of my favorite cartoons. I received Wolverine not too long ago and though I think he looks neat, I was very disappointed that they gave him blue hands with fingernails ... I mean come on! these were made to be a big thing, the price cost more than your usual Marvel Legend, and from my knowledge only available through Hasbro Pulse. This is just another reason why moving to a windowless packaging is going to suck big time.

ACQotD: I hate this. And I am a late bloomer to the beauty of the animation series. I just started watching it on Disney+. Ha$bro More Loot comic-line is selling off their Storm tool casts with this product. Not even recommended for someone without a Storm yet. This product looks more like the gorgeous Tina Turner in Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome!
I haven't got a new hasbro action figure in about 9 years. The only thing I've been doing is tracking toy biz and older hasbro figs that look good.

Yea I was very disappointed when got Wolverine thought he looked pretty cool but out pf the 2 I ordered both of them had a defective head scuplt had all these figures so far pre ordered because reminds me of my childhood and X men animated series but was not very happy with the figure and decided to cancel all my orders especially at the price point going up will not be collecting these will stick to my Sh figuarts figures maybe they will release some X-men at some point

Idk why they didnt just make the carded figure of store white rather than that pearlesant white color. Also that figure is too gummy in the legs I couldnt get her to stand good. I might still get this one but they should of just used updated body mold and added some bluish shading for the price they are charging for her

hasbro should be working more on headsculpts, really love the charactee of rogue and hope they release a good figure, with a new and accurate headsculpt, hair and cel shading and colors

I've been sick of Hasbro's ML since 2014 when I realized they kept reusing the same bodies.
And them being $20 -at the time - with no substantial engineering differences from ToyBiz figures (only real difference is hip and finger articulation) And that mindset has never changed for me.
Hasbro occasionally makes good figures, but it's way too infrequent for me to care about the line.

Storm was actually wearing white in the animated series and her hair is accurate to what it looked like in the show tho...
Funny 15 min after I watched this, mine was delivered. Now I have mixed emotions. But I got all the others so. May just keep them in the box.

I like this one slightly more than I liked Jubilee, which "like" is probably too strong a word, it's more like "slightly less terrible, but still pretty terrible." I get why they did the hair so big because there are a lot of shots from the show where her hair is out of control (I fear what their Dark Phoenix will look like should they get that far), but why not pull rank and just do her hair like it is on the box art, which is how I assume her hair should have looked like in every shot of the show, but didn't because Saban was super cheap. And those accessories are trash. Even if they looked good they'd still be ridiculous paired with her sleepy facial expression. Hasbro, if you're going to give a figure a power accessory like that and only one head sculpt at least make sure that head sculpt works for the accessory. Plus, if they're going to do cel-shading they need to realize it has to be more than two colors. Black and white? It at least needs a gray or gray-blue. Almost every toon from that era shades with three colors when the character is full frame, not two. This figure's only saving grace is the shading is good enough that she looks okay on a shelf from a distance, but you also need a flight stand because she can't stand for crap with that giant mass of hair. And Hasbro's only making money on these because fools like me have waited 30 years for a dedicated toy line based on the show and we're buying it for that reason, not because it's any good.

Hasbro is such an odd company. The G.I. Joe: Classified Series is amazing, but the way Marvel Legends is generally going, you'd think they were from different companies altogether. They are doing good work (IE: the "Renew Your Vows" Spider-Man), but every good release gets overshadowed by crap like this. Legends needs to regroup and get their act together otherwise they're at risk of tanking their brand

This doesn't do Storm justice, the headsculpt is terrible, I almost feel like they should have used the retro storm head instead.
Hasbro simply dont give a crap about their customers. The quality of these figures are insulting. Looks like they just took Dazzler's mold and made it Storm.
Always I buy a marvel legends (comic versions) I say: it is to customize this piece of sh#t
What i'm more upset about it.. Where are her Heeeeeels??? I know she won't stand up anyway because of her stacked wig, so why not finally give this repaint the heels that we're missing from the first 2 releases?? 3rd release of this mold, and it still is janky, inaccurate, and lazy.

Have only gotten several in the past 2 years because of the difference in price and quality. These figures should not be as delicate for whom it is marketed. There are great Legends that are only a few every 2 waves. There aren't many reviewers who tell it like it is!
I pre-ordered all of these, and since they are still sealed in the box, now that I've seen this review I can keep them that way lol 😂😂😂
I feel like that's exactly what Hasbro wants. Release cool looking boxes so people keep them closed and they can sell trash figures, lol.
