I had the identical check valve/line break on mine(2008 9-3 2.0t)- ran like garbage with that surprise vacuum leak. In a fit of desperation (needed to have a running car) I used one of the "JB Weld for plastic" products and basically encased the broken section in a golf ball sized wad to hold it together. Has gotten me by over the summer, but now I have the OEM replacement line and am going to install. It was a hateful engineer who decided that those push buttons should be difficult to reach! Probably the same clown who decided to put the PCV valve INSIDE the intake manifold, necessitating an hour of dismantling work to get to it. Thank you for another great video, and pointing out all of the potential trip ups in the process.
Is there a chance you would be willing to make a video of rating the differents sport exhuasts available for both the 2.0T and the 2.8T? And which ones would be best in terms of tuning, loudness/sound quality etc?
Thank you very much for a great video! Mine is a 2005 1,8 t and the upper connector at the vacuum pump is quite loose even before i release it with the button. I guess that could be the reason why i can press my brake pedal down to the floor when the engine is running. When the engine is off the pedal is firm.
Had to replace the same line on my 2006 last May. eSaabParts has the original for $60-something and silicon homemade upgrade for about half that. Went with the silicon although it originally came with the wrong size connector for the intake side. They sent out the right connector after I called them. The problem throws the infamous P0300 code.
I replaced mine about a month ago… excuse my ignorance on what the ‘easy’ end is attached to, but it wiggles. Doesn’t feel as tight as the one prior… but now my car engine shuts off after about 10 miles, when I apply the brake. I have to stop, put in park, turn the key ‘off’ then start again. I can go about 20 feet before it does it again…. Rinse-Lather-Repeat I’m at a loss! Because I can’t narrow down the problem. I’ve been having transmission issues as well, so it could be a number of factors. 2004 just hit 100k miles and everything, door handles included are falling off! Please help!
Because of this thing i did not pass inspection, that hose was off for me too, realized it afterwards and taped it temporarily, i have found a new hose in junkyard and will one day install it
Great video... I fixed mine yesterday the symptoms I had was a whistle, I notice the boost gauge was at the letter T and the riding was crappy , but no check engine light so I was checking n oppss I gently touch it and it broke uhh so I blew on the round part that's connected to the line and two things happened I'm blowing air both ways when it should be only one way like the boost of evap sensors..
I recently purchased a 07 saab 9-3 i have a slowly fading brake pedal once all the way depressed it continues to sink. I noticed it stops or happens less after being in boost. I checked my booster for leaks by shoving a zip tie down it. I have a somewhat rough idle when warm could this line be what is causing it?. I took each check valve out and blew in them to verify they are still good. I wanted to say it may be a vacuum pump but that should cause a stiff pedal if its bad in my experience. I you have any suggestions let me know. Ive done a brake flush and it got better but still sinks pretty bad. I alsi have a harsh 3-4 shift mainly when cold. I am going to do a transmission service but i suspect a bad valve body.
Hey man I was just wondering what you thought about the 1999 Saab 9-3 is it a reliable year? And is it more expensive to maintan than a newer saab? I found a great deal on one with 38k miles. Thanks!
Out of Curiosity this would turn on the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT correct? If so im getting a P0171 Code. “Vacuum Leak” This line is busted on mine & i ordered one to be replaced. Thank you
@@AutoAutopsy Thank you for your response… I happened to replace the line & im still getting the p0171 Bank 1 System to lean.. Possibly upstream o2 sensor?… Have you had to deal with this & if so what did you do? If not, where would you start looking?
Could somebody please show me where the second solenoid valve control circuit is for a 04 9-3 linear? I can’t find it for some reason. Ik the first one right at the surface but I can’t find the othwe
Hi, in the unlikely however possible, event, (speaking from experience) both one way valves fail, under heavy load, you send boost down that line. Straight to brake servo. Holding brakes offff!!! Down use second hand.
This vacuum hose was designed by a masochist. The only thing that helped was to rotate the bottom piece straight down so that the button faced in a direction that human hands could press.

These cars are pretty easy to work on imo! It could be worse lol

Yep, if you’ve got a vacuum leak that could definitely cause that issue!
@@AutoAutopsy how do I fix the leak at the connector? Would this cause my engine to turn off while driving, when the break pedal is pushed down? 😬😅

Ordering that line now for my current 9-3 lol just in case!
I remember that vacuum line broke on all three of my 9-3's.
Great tutorial Jacob, thanks 👍
I have a little bit of a rough idle on my 2008 9-3. Going to have it checked out with my mechanic using that tech 2 thing. Thanks for posting👍

Could you please share the part number?

Hi, I’m curious is it called the booster vacuum line? I don’t think it would be easy brake vacuum line?
For the arc, you should by a speedparts grill (black) and give it an engine wash.
Any chance you have the part number? Mine is also broken and I’ve been looking for a replacement piece.
Same here.
Likewise looking for a part number...
What is the name of this line? Would this cause surging and rough idle?
Brake booster vacuum hose
And it might, but a lot of things can contribute to a poor idle. Ignition coils, spark plugs, fuel to air ratio, just to name a few.
Need this for my 2010 changed spark plugs and coils still a nasty misfire no oil on my plugs either you help so many of us thanks a lot
Happy to assist!

Is there anything that needs to be done to the brakes now? I replace mine today on my Aero and now my brakes suck.
thanks for this man!
I have high boost at idle u know what problem could be?

Hey how much for a cold air intake on my Saab 93 will you charge? I want to get it done thought it would be pretty cool
I have a bsr intake, with heat shield, costed me 300$ I drive an 03 Saab 9-3
Which check engine code display in the scanner..
Mine is P0300

It definitely could if it’s bad enough of a leak!

If you are using a second hand hose always change O rings inside those connectors

The valve by the turbo?
Just had to replace this in my 9-3 no more then 2 weeks ago lol

Skitig motor! 😜
The design of the vacuum lines and connectors is all GM, that's why it's a pain in the ass.

I just did this yesterday. It's the worst for something that could be done in less than 20 min. 45 min later....JFC
Lol my original vacuum line was a ford part 😂
