- Well... winter finally showed up over the weekend, burying the sheep barn in snow. Usually, I can keep up and shovel the curtains, but it was waist deep.
Thankfully, my neighbour Geoff came to the rescue!!
We also took weaning weights off the last group of lambs, and I have some final results off that entire group!
And finally... a couple wonderful surprises to share!!

Billy the Kid is always so funny when you're pushing the groups forward, he seems so confused as to why the other sheep would want to move away from his favorite person ever and keeps going back and forth between being a sheep and following the others, and being a puppy and going back for snuggles
StormyJellybean And that can be the bane of pet sheep in a flock when you are trying to work them.

Having good neighbors during our Canadian winters is a god sent!! My parents have a snowblower and my dad does most of their street. He even gets up in the middle of the night after the plows come down the street. ❤🇨🇦❤🇨🇦❤
Here in the States we leave faucets on a semi-Steady (drip drip drip) drip 💧 to make sure pipes don’t freeze. 🥶 It’s Extremely Cold up in your part of Canada so I bet folks up your way do the same thing. A Broken Pipe can Quickly cause an Extreme amount of damage.
Congratulations to Jess, glad she was shown that her hard work paid off, even if she did decide to go with her #2, now she knows it was her choice, not that she had to take #2.
Thank you to neighbor Jeff, you are the absolute best, not only did you use the snowblower but you also physically shoveled it. You are what being a good neighbor is all about, I’m sure they do the same for you.

Please, please make sure you blur out all license plates in your videos. License plates and any stray house numbers.

Good advice, but too late cause her info is all over the place already. I recommended putting up a bunch of cameras a while ago.
Ha. the video's are the hard way of finding her. Google her name, you get her farm name, then you enter that into maps and boom. You have her farm. Luckily, I'm not a creep. She only lives an hour away from me. Show up unannounced on a farm like this and you are likely going to get the business end of the farm shot gun pointing your way off said farm...
Might be time to also inform the local police that she's a TH-camr in order to hopefully prevent any potential swatting.

Just realized I'm very strange!! ( I'm sure that isn't news to my family and friends lol) but next to lambing, cleaning the barn with the telehandler is my favorite to watch. Maybe because I have to use fork/shovel and wheelbarrow to do my barns!!!

I can empathize - if I don't keep snow away from my garage door and the one corner, it will flood the garage and I get a skating rink inside. You need a landscaper to move some dirt and channel the water away from barn. I'd have been petrified - thank God for great neighbors!!!
In the shot from 7:09, the fan above the feeder on the left looks uncannily like a disco ball, and I am INTO IT.
Now I want lamb barn dance parties. Billy can DJ, you know he'd spin some good, good tunes.

What you didn't mention, was how concerned you were for this lambing group, because you lost your roof just before they started lambing. So I think you did a fantastic job!
When your scanner is broken next time, take pictures of the tags with your cell phone or camera, then scan the images when your scanner comes back.

This is the group that was getting ready to lamb when the barn destruction happened which at the time I think I recall you saying you were concerned that the stress of which could really impact lambing. I think the fact that you had such amazing results even after those ewes went through such a traumatic event for them is something to be really, really proud of!

They make something called a roof rake. It has a super long pole and you just angle it onto the roof and pull the snow off the edge.

Oh, the traditional March blizzards as winter has a nasty tantrum because it might ever be spring again! I remember one so bad the snow with plastered two inches thick on the sun porch's screens. And that was also when our water heater ruptured so we can empathize!
Sandi I know it's been a bit since you posted this and don't get me wrong I have had days like this but I found myself looking at the screen saying, " You're a farmer who has a front loader available. Go Get it!" ❤

I have been watching you for awhile but now my daughter she is 8 almost 9 says this is her Favorite channel on TH-cam now and always asks as soon as she gets home to watch she now wants to have sheep one day and you like to meet you and ask you questions about sheep farming

Billy the Kid is growing so fast.
As for empty next syndrome, I'm going through it. My oldest moved out almost four years ago and his little (haha) brother moved on to the SVSU Campus in August. But your sheep will keep you very busy, so you won't have time to think about it too much.

Girls, you are working too hard digging out that car. Do it like we do in Idaho. Take a carton of salt and dust around the mailbox and parking area. Careful not to get it on the grass. For cars stuck on ice/snow, keep a cheap bag of cat litter in your trunk. Pour it under the tires for traction.
