I genuinely believe that Aaron Rodgers is the 49ers third or fourth greatest quarterback of all time. What he has done for this organization is beautiful. His 0-4 playoff games against them has given the 49ers 4 playoff wins, a couple of those in route to the super bowl. There isn't a fandom outside of Wisconsin that loves and appreciates Rodgers more then in the Bay Area.

Frigid cold temperature. San Fran who has a great offense only scored 6 points. That type of game isnt going to typically be high scoring. Rodgers still didn't deliver tho. He had Lazard on that play
Although they both lost this weekend, the games Brady and Rodgers played were microcosms of their careers. Aaron underwhelms when the moment is big and shows absolutely no fight when all he needed to do was score 14 points. And Brady comes back down 27-3 to tie the game with 40 seconds left against an avengers Ram's defense. At some point cool arm talent only gets you so far. Intangibles > Tangibles

I loved Colin take of Rogers not having the SB like brady, records like Drew Brees, likability of Manning. Hence he focuses on Passer rating % and not throwing INT and that sometimes hinders his ability to trust his other offensive players other then Devante Adams
In terms of pure arm talent he's no doubt the best, time will tell with mahomes to probably be the guy to surpass that aspect of his game. Other than that I don't know what Rodgers has and I was one of his biggest supporters. He seems to fall short in reading defense sometimes, has had some straight up chokes in the playoffs, and the accolades he has really amount to efficiency with interceptions.
It's a massive fall from grace and this PR campaign he's been on the past two years made him look worse when he lost Saturday night. I felt like I watched one of my heroes die out there in that game and my respect for him dropped after I've defended him for so long.

All this season I've had debates with Aaron Rodgers fans where I've been making the point that Mahomes is just as talented as Rodgers in terms of raw talent only for them to scuff at the notion. We have seen Mahomes win numerous playoff games coming from behind or games where the defense has given up 25+. Sometimes I wonder if people watch games or just box scores because guys like Mahomes and Brady make great plays at the key moments whereas Rodgers fills up the stat sheet but lacks clutch moments.
In terms of TALENT Patrick Mahomes is Literally a young Aaron Rodgers. WITH THAT BEING SAID THO we have seen Aaron’s ceiling and Patrick has the ability to clipse that ceiling of Arod
Rodgers is the most accurate qb I've ever seen, but in big games you sometimes have to take risks to lure victory on your side, and Brady and Mahomes are willing to take those risks while Aaron seems to shy away from them.

Im not sure if this one is worse, or last year, his defense picked off Tom Brady 3 times in a row and he still couldnt take advantage of that. He had wide open green grass into the endzone, but didnt run for it despite being athletic enough to do so.

His 2011 loss to the Giants is the worst playoff loss in his career. They were the defending champ and only loss one game that year while arguably having the best offense the NFL has ever seen. This 2021 loss though is definitely up there. I have it at number 3 and the NFC title loss to the Seahawks as number 2.
I know the Packers were 15-1 and totally dominate, but I can't remember the logistics of their loss to the Giants. However I clearly remember the Packers completely gift wrapped that Seattle game. Major choke job.

IIRC they were up 16-0 with 6 mins left in the game and RW threw what I thought was a game ending pick. You could also argue the sea loss being his worst playoff game. I chose the Giants because the Giants were 9-7 that year and dominated the Packers while the refs gift wrap 14 points to the Packers. That 11 Packers squad was also the first 15-1 team to lose its first playoff game as well.

@@jamesage24 Yes. The Cardinals were the 4th seed in 08 and hosted the 6th seeded eagles and won. Im pretty sure this is the 2nd time that a 4th seeded team has hosted a title game since they added the bye week 30 plus years ago.

You can be an individual superstar with little results to show for or be an above average dude that can rally a team around him and have outstanding outcomes. It may not be an active choice one makes but that is where mental fortitude differentiates the two.

I agree with SAS. This looked bad on Arod. This pulled him down an entire rung on the all time list. He cannot be with Brady Manning and Montana etc. And in a year or two maybe now, Mahomes will be above him.
Mahomes is pretty much above him right now. I hate to say it because I'm a Rodgers fan but it just seems that way. We will see how Mahomes does later in his career without the super good weapons and Andy Reid. I think he will still be great but we will have to see

Kansas City Chiefs will win another Super Bowl. It's pretty obvious. They keep scoring in the 40s. They scored 31 against my Niners' defense and got 3 TDs in the 4th quarter just 2 years ago.

#1 Tom was missing his 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th best receiver along with RoJo and his starting Left Tackle AND his punt returner got concussed and missed the 2nd half
#2 Tom went up against one of the best Pass Rush teams in NFL history with a loaded offense while the 49ers were depleted everywhere
#3 Tom put up 27 and Aaron put up 10 with ALL his weapons.. he wasn't missing anything.
Tom vastly outplayed him given the circumstances.

I’m not absolving him from blame, but I feel like some of his earlier playoff losses that weren’t entirely his fault have followed him his whole career. 09’ he scored 45 points & lost, 11’ was ultimately a sign of things to come, (underwhelming loss) 12’ his defence was horrendous, 14’ was an epic collapse & 15’ his heroics in Arizona were undone by OT, (13’ I do blame mostly on him). His last 4 playoffs losses have been blowouts or he blew it as the home favourite.
