I remember riding this beast in its prime with the final helix in 2008. Amazing! Now it looks like it could use a Gravity Group prefabricated refurbishment, plus Timberliner trains.

Absolutely an insane ride!!!!!!! It doesn’t feel legal for a wooden coaster to go that fast and be that huge. I’m proud that this is at my home park. I can never get enough of this ride😊😊😊one of the great woodies to ever exist!!!!!!!!
My dad built more than a 1/3 of this coaster all by himself. He used to let me sneak into Six Flags in the back by walking under the coaster. He wrote my name Tyler all over the bottom sections of his work areas. He was a cool dad, but also a druggie and deadbeat sadly. The day I turned 18 I only seen him maybe 1 time a year at max. I'm 32 now. In 10 years I've only seen him 2 times, both at funerals. It's a shame... I miss when it seemed like he cared...
went through similar troubles with my father until he took his own life some time ago. Sadly we as sons often never know what our fathers go through, or why they do the things they do. i guess im trying to say dont beat yourself up. men find it hard to open up to anyone, even themselves. it only makes sense that alot of us never get to have the cookie cutter father-son relationship
i am proud to say this is my home park and i get this amazing coaster with it!!!!!!!!!! i go here like once a week and marathon this beast over and over again and i can never get enough of this ride. it is really insaine how crazy big and fast this ride is
the “ohh”s aernt from him just being impressed with the track but also from the enormous shockwaves of pain sent to your back from how rugged this shit is lmao. rly thought i broke my back, especially at the end last time i went. love it tho, will always be my fav ride
I rode the boss the first year it was out when it still had the 570 double helix. I'd say it's an overall better ride now, but that 570 was pretty damn intense.
When I rode this year, they did not trim it at all. The ride was hauling. Not only that, but I found it smoother than when I rode El Toro last year. This and Voyage might be my top two. This roller coaster is criminally slept on. I feel like Six Flags St Louis does not get enough credit for maintaining the ride as good as they do. Sure it's really rough if you're in a wheel seat, but the fact you can ride a roller coaster this extreme and this old and have it be a good ride, that's a whole feat.
I was just at six flags last night, and screaming eagle was my fav, I rode it 3 times in a row, and the middle seat on the train, u get amazing airtime.
Ive got a few shirts from over the years for this coaster. Been all over and ridden lots of coasters but nothing beats that first drop into that banked turn
I've always loved this coaster despite its extreme roughness. SFSL was the first theme park I ever went to and all the rides there are incredibly nostalgic for me...except for maybe the Ninja. I've never had a good ride on that one lol.
I honestly think this is a great ride. I mean, it's definitely got a bite to it, but I think that gives it a lot of charm. It's still far from being as bad as some claim. It's not even the roughest CCI i've been on... Also, was this an early morning ride? It seemed pretty sluggish in comparison to the rides I've had on it. I hear those Gerstlauer trains take a really long time to warm up.
totally legit!!!! Woody's are the kings, no doubt...if you don't feel beat up after riding a coaster, it is not a real coaster!!! this might have just risen to #1 on my to do list for next summer!!!
Always been a fun ride. I remember a dude in 2003 or so when it 1st opened. Rode it all day lol. Had pillows and whatnot around him lol. That 1st drop used to be steeper than what it is now. They got rid of that double helix turn at the end too. Still a fun ride🤘
I can’t describe how but it feels like a wooden giga coaster up front. Blistering speed, insane laterals, and some seriously underrated moments of ejector airtime
I love this coaster but it hurts my head so bad. I have a feeling that I would enjoy it a lot more if I sat in the front, because I tend to notice that the front seats are the least rough of the train.
It is a rough coaster. I asked a ride operator why the removed the double helix at the end and ue said they were just trying to make the ride smoother. The double-down after the first drop is a unique feature as well. You fly through that. Mean coaster that I hope they don't modify.
Me and my best friend once rode this on a weekday like 15 times cause there's no lines on those days except Fridays. Our chests hurt quite a bit after that. Still was fun
@@EastCoastersyou should try to make more Six Flags St. Louis Onride POV’s, this Sunday, I might go up to Six Flags St. Louis. Then I might FaceTime my gf, show her the coasters there, and then I will ride them all.

I rode this once back in the middle 2000s. I remember waiting in line for like 45 minutes or something like that. Fun coaster.
heres to hoping neo six flags, (cedar fair lol) will give this machine the awesome engineered pre-cut this layout deserves

Same here. Smoother than Toro this year and no trims 🤌🏽
The BOSS looks bad ass, what a great layout!
I've been on it and the 1st hill is like falling off a cliff. This is a fast coaster and maintains it speed until the end.
Miss this ride one of the best wooden coasters to date still !

Is that the old “Screaming Eagle”? I’m pretty sure that’s it. I grew up on that. 70’s. It’s badass.

The first roller coaster I ever rode! I was, and still am, deathly afraid of heights, and my friends tricked me into going on it. Very glad they did.
that initial drop is always so fun. one of the first coasters i road as a kid
When I go to Six Flags St. Louis, I always love this ride
❤❤
Rode 1st time yesterday awesome! Was so hot out. This video is how i remember it... "What break run?"
You're so funny - 'the Boss is the Boss' mixed in with alot of Whoa's...😂
This is an awesome wood coaster it’s like a rougher more wild version of the beast

Most likely yeah since the mid course brakes disengaged while the train was going quite slow so I’m assuming yes
@@j-coasters what is the roughest CCI you've been on?

YOOOO what happened to the double helix at the very end? its just one now and a jump?????
Yoooo that shit is MOVING!
Just rode it. This ride is relentless 💀

One of the few coasters that still scares me a little 😂
Gotta say love this coaster but it seriously could use PTC trains.
If you don't brace for impact into the brake on the Boss you will get hurt by the lap bar in the chest very hard.
Love this coaster! One of the better CCIs
I love this coaster but it hurts my head so bad. I have a feeling that I would enjoy it a lot more if I sat in the front, because I tend to notice that the front seats are the least rough of the train.
Middle is the best, not the front.
If you ride an older wooden coaster and expect it to be smooth then you live in a fantasy world 😊
This is the best coaster ever
I might get a concussion every-time I ride this but it’s still so worth it. It would make a great rmc

Looks like a very painful experience
Not in the slightest. A tad intense but not rough

WHOOOOOO YEAH!!!!! ROLLERCOASTERS!!!!!!
That's interesting, no airtime, just speed. The tiny airtime at the end sounds painful.
This ride has plenty of airtime. You just gotta know how get room and hold the lapbar. I fly on this thing!
do you sit in the back? this ride is a airtime machine! the stomach dropping sensation was almost too much for me as a kid
@solo.digital.gaming back row POV coming soon🤌🏽
Looks awesome! 💯
Looks buttery from this POV. I've gotta get across the state to try it.
Beware it is shaky and intense but I like it
It's definitely not buttery.

Still one of my all time favorites but was much better before they took out the helix at the end. I rode this the summer they opened it.
Wooden coasters rock!
I love this ride
Insanely rough, but super fun.
I’ve been there, but I do not have enough courage to ride that thing.
very fast and aggressive
It's kinda like being thrown into a kitchen blender. haha It was rough as a kid so I cannot even imagine riding it now.

We did! Coming soon
Look... the layout is awesome, dont get me wrong, but if ride in the back and you get so much pain
what is it infamous for
Supposedly being rough, unpredictable & out of control.
@@EastCoastersit is definitely all of those things and I love it.
The first few high speed turns are underbanked. It can lead to slamming against your seatmate.
The ride is like unacceptablely rough, needs to get RMC’d asap
Worst chiropractor I’ve very ridden, do NOT recommend
I don't understand all these "amazing layout" comments. Slow turns and airtimeless hills 🤷♂️
