I have turned 36 and I am self taught dancer. My dream is to be one day on a dance reality show. The age always have worried me. Being a self taught dancer i do practice a lot and keep uploading my videos. All this while I felt I am TOO LATE to be there now. Until I came across this video I really needed this. This is very inspiring however there are some dreams which have a time limit. F.e. if you wanna play certain "young" roles in a movie or in theatre, you have to be physically young. My dream role in musical theatre is rodgers and hammerstein's Cinderella - and I won't be able to play it anymore if I turn 30 or over....... I'm already in my mid/late 20s and this fact freaks me out :((((

its your perception. At the end of day, even a 'stockbroker', like a doctor or engineer is an employee and there might not be much fun. For many people, getting out of that at the age of 30 is an un-achievable task.
Difference is, these people had genius and were extremely lucky. You can't just say Stephen King was a janitor, but he did it, so you can too! Hardly anyone writes like Stephen King. He got 400,000 dollars for the rights to Carrie which came out of nowhere and was unprecedented at the time. We can't be anything like these people. Someone will watch this video and get all "pumped", but then just go back to watching the Walking Dead because they know deep down what I say is true.
Hey Carey, I see what you're saying. And you're right ... someone might watch the video get pumped thinking "I can do it too" and then go back to watching the Walking Dead (great example btw). But someone else might watch the video get pumped, start taking action and get into a positive habit of consistent action taking towards their dreams. So you never know, right? So the way we look at it is ... hey you never know! If it only impacts 1 person actually believe in herself/himself and go take action I believe it still makes a difference. Global Expert Space that's a lot of BS, and my comment still stands. The only people motivated enough to make something real of their talents are the ones who don't need to be motivated by fluffy videos like this to make use of them. JK Rowling was depressed and a single mother, sure, but by her own admission, she "received" the entire Harry Potter story in a flash out of the blue one day on a train, and also apparently "heard a voice" that said it would be a major success if she got it published. Again, unknown flash of genius with no prior catalyst, and some sort of personally "divine" style motivation to sit in coffee shops and write. Anyone turning to videos like these to get anything done with their lives were never going to actually accomplish it to begin with. The greats among us are sparse because they are unique. The rest of us are just making sure the rest of the world runs smoothly enough and we minimize our regrets before we die. Just face the reality.
I like the video but find the choices for all caps emphasis interesting. Emphasized words such as; fired, failed, welfare, gave up, too old, you missed, you aren't good enough alongside words such as fry cook, carpenter, stockbroker, YMCA and stay-at-home-dad imply the latter are lacking in some respect and is frankly insulting.
