The rock walls with the weird writing are Tibetan Buddhist mani walls or prayer walls, and yes the writing is Tibetan, not Nepali. Some of the writing probably reads "om mani padme hume", a Buddhist chant. You're supposed to go clockwise, walking on the left side, same as the stupas. I made the same mistake in my Kathmandu video, walking counter-clockwise around a stupa. I knew better too, just forgot. And they were Tibetan Buddhist prayer wheels that were spinning on the creek. There's a lot less snow on the ground than both times I was there. You lucked out with the hiking conditions to have clear sunny days, but it's also pretty amazing to experience a snowstorm and fresh snow up there, which happened the first time I did the trek.

@@stillamitchinmybook6320 Hi! This is a fairly easy question to answer. When people behind me with a shopping cart try to get me to move but I can't hear them they assume I'm being rude and get very angry. When people ask me questions and I try to motion to them I'm deaf, they think I'm ignoring them or being rude, especially seniors. Teenagers laugh at me when I don't understand, and government and doctors refuse to write anything down for me when I can't understand and get very annoyed. People, in general, do not like to repeat themselves over and over again, and just walk away and talk to a hearing person. To be left out of conversations always hurts. I feel very alone.

Those stones you passed are called Mani stones. They're used as a form of prayer. Inscribed on them is the Buddhist mantra "om mani padme hum" in Tibetan script. It's also custom to walk on the left side of them or to circumvent them in a clockwise direction, the way in which the earth revolves according to Buddhist cosmology.

Well done on your massive trek yesterday. You are a brave man doing the last couple of hours in the dark👍🏼 The stone constructions you saw in the morning next to Langtang are called Mani walls, they are prayer walls, like the ones you see with prayer wheels built into them. The local buhddists will always walk to the left hand side the same as going anti-clockwise around the temples. I'm so glad you showed us the water-prayer-wheel🤗🤗🤗 a cool thing indeed and has great spiritual meaning to Buhddists.

10:09 they are Mani stones to my knowledge . I did this trek couple of months back and thats what local told me they are . Basically mani stones are stone plates, rocks and/or pebbles, carved or inscribed with the six syllabled mantra of Avalokiteshvara “Om mani padme hum”, hence the name "Mani stone”

Salute you Harald. I bow to your courage and kindness. Even in this challenging situation all alone, you are saying sometimes that you want to give business to every hotel and shop you passing through. I hope someone watching your videos will come forward to sponsor your with a big reward. No crew man and big support. You are on your own with your own resources. Every video on this trail are excellent. Some of the places you are going will be a big challenge for an international TV crew to shoot the documentary using the latest Technology and other corporate resources.
