This is what I LOVE about your channel. Regardless of the recommended ask on food, you do an amazing job of treating the ask and food with reverence, respect, and cleverness. Another amazing video today Sean!!
North Jersey has a lot of Texas Weiner restaurants. Hot Grill in Clifton, NJ is my family's favorite place.A Texas Weiner is a chili dog. Scranton, PA has two places to go to eat. They are related to each other. Coney Island of Scranton (the original family restaurant ) and Coney Island Lunch.
Spent some time in NJ and had my first "Ripper dog", never thought to deep fry it. Texas dogs are spicy but great on a cold game day with another NJ staple, " Disco fries."
Nailed it! Glad you liked it. Chili mac on a cold snowy day is a hearty go to and good for a warmup plus chili dip for football is a solid snack. Hope others get a chance to try. Cheers!
THANK YOU ERIN‼️ This was really fun. Canned chili can be underwhelming sometimes but you know your stuff. The Varsity’s version is my kinda treat. Appreciate you a ton.
I live in Atlanta and work right next to the Varsity, it lives off nostalgia. The hot dog and hamburger quality is average at best. The best things are the onion rings and the Frosted Orange, the Fanta isn’t really comparable.
Hey Sean! I have in fact been there. It was right before i went to the Coke museum. I will never forget hearing the "What'll you have? What'll you have? What'll you have?" in person. It was a great experience, the food was amazing! Now, I just about made myself sick because I ate so much but it was dang good.
What'll have? What'll have? I hope you had a dog or burger. Chicken fingers are not bad. Question is... Fries or rings? Varsity Orange or regular soda? BTW coke museum is very interesting. Do NOT try the Beverley, gross! The history tour is very interesting.
so my friends and I decided to drive down to Daytona the summer after we graduated HS and driving along I-75 we saw a HUGE VARSITY, so we stopped. MINDS BLOWN!!! we were coming from Toledo and these dogs beat Rudys and Ideal for sure. Since then, any time Im in ATL I go, which is usually once every couple of years. There is a location in the airport that makes it easy for layovers, too.
Bold statements. Shots fired from the Midwest! I never had Rudy's but from what I hear that a serious review. I am glad you found a go to place in the south. Thanks for the airport tip! Have you made Daytona your go to vacay place? Florida beats cold & snowy Ohio any day.
I think you win the suggestions mate! Alex for the win! Brilliant idea! Forget Rotel, grab some chili. Don't know your team but I have to say go Irish (Notre Dame) & go Cowboys (Dallas).
@@erinodonnell6658 thanks Erin! I’m a eternal suffering Bears fan. Every Sunday I say “I think they got this one” and constantly get kicked in the nuts! At least I have good Sunday grub! Go Bears! Haha
The Varsity was a childhood staple, anytime we'd go to a Braves or a field trip to Atlanta we'd stop there. As an adult - its super fine. I can't remember the last time anyone recommended it, outside of someone wanting to try it for the first time. 2 Chili dogs, Onion Rings and a frosted Orange do slap tho.
Brilliant order, just no mustard for me but a frosted Orange on a hot summer Atlanta day, just hits! Congrats to your Braves. Red Sox fan so yeah, it's been a rough year! Good Luck in the play offs!
Hope you get to go on your vacy, somewhere nice, camping? Mickey trip? Beach? If you are passing through maybe have a stop in and try it out for yourself. Enjoy!
chili and onion rings.... hell yeah.... me and my roommates when we were first out on our own used to makes batches of fries and chili or fries and clam chowder... cheap and tasty...... onion rings dipped in ketchup first then a dunk of ranch for a tasty mixture
Clam Chowder? Do we have a northeasterner in the mix? Fries and especially rings are a brilliant vehicle for pretty much any dip. No, you are not a deviant for dipping ketchup or mixing ranch! I dipped fries in barley soup or gravy. Just as long as you didn't say Mayo. I am sure I am triggering people. Cheap and tasty, always taste better! 😋
The Varisty was on Triple D. It was a great episode. I’ve been preaching top loading buns for years. Onion rings smothered in chili, or dipped in a cheese sauce is legit. You made those chili dogs like I like them!!!! I usually smother them with more chili and have to eat it with a fork. 😂 #FatLife lol😊
We have a pro ladies and gents, those who understand the mission. Sides are there as a vehicle to enhance the meal. Scoop and dip away! Fork & Spoon...appropriate. Legend! 💚
My best friend's wife is from Atlanta so I've heard a few Varsity stories. I love a bowl of chili at Phillipe's in L.A., I dip my French Beef Dip sandwich in it. Yummy.🤤
Where can I order the chili online ? Dogs - do them in the air fryer - 400 for 6 minutes then put dogs in buns back in air fryer for 3 minutes- you’ll never go back to pan frying - total game changer!! 🙏🏻❤️💙🕊
I love The Varsity. I used to go to Atlanta once a year for a conference (pre-Covid and all conferences moving online forever) and would go ape on a bunch of chili cheese dogs and chili slaw dogs. My post-conference expense reports were definitely an oddity when everyone else was reporting fancy dinners on the company dime and I just had, like, six stops for hot dogs.
“I do I do I doooooooo” Great vid, Sean, we did a video at the Varsity when we were there in the Spring. It’s good but it’s kind of gut rot at the same time. It hurts good
I would like to go to the varsity club I hace tried the Cincinnati chili and served it as it is traditionally served loved both And im from Texas but i like my chili as well
Hey Sean. I loved this video because I love hot dogs. However, real talk, I own a hot dog cart where we home-make our own chili. Grab Corey and get down here and we’ll make you a chili dog you won’t ever forget.
I have had the Varsity many times, It's good but ! we have a Zesto's (about 4 of them) also and their Foot long chili/slaw dog are the best. If you check out the Varsity you also need to check out Zesto and let us know which on you like. I think you would love Zesto.

That can of chili with velveeta and jalapeños in the crock pot would make a good football Sunday dip.

Chili Burger sounds like a win after chili dogs (which is my fave way to enjoy hot dogs). this is so so good
Ideal burger....? Straight up? Bacon? Avocado? Extras? Rings or Fries for side? 🍔🍟
@@erinodonnell6658 I do not believe in an ideal....there are too many wonderful varieties of good burgers. However, i am Team Onion Rings over fries.
I love Rudy's and Varsity, you just reminded me that I need to order some more Varsity chili.
We usually swing through Atlanta on the way home from vacation to do the Georgia aquarium, if we go next year I’m 800% going to try this.

The more you do Seinfeld clips the more I will be watching. George Costanza is a role model I could only hope to live up to for the rest of my days.

As somebody who lives in Atlanta I love a varsity hot dog and their chicken is underrated Hope to see you try zaxbys on this channel one day
Don't sleep on Zaxbys tenders and loaded fries! Sweet tea is a must get too.
When I lived in Florida, I would get Zaxby’s and enjoy it. I’d love to feature my order from 2012 on here, and get it again.
I would like to go to the varsity club
I hace tried the Cincinnati chili and served it as it is traditionally served loved both
And im from Texas but i like my chili as well
Good bus parking at the Varsity! 🚌
Top notch grub mate!
There's a Varsity at the airport if you're ever in ATL for a layover. It's not as good as the original, but still decent.
I was in Jewels last week and seen Wendy's Chili in a can in the chili section. Boilermaker chili is the best chili
Awesome
I've been to the Varsity. I went to U GA. It's just not the same.
You needed to add some Titos to that Fanta 😂😂😂 great video Sean 👍
