- This is the @DukesMayonnaise vs. @KewpieFanClub ultimate versus/taste test. #DukesMayo is a staple of the American south, while #KewpieMayo is a Japanese favorite. Thanks to Creighton Burke, I added mayonnaise to five foods: BLT sandwiches, macaroni salad, deviled eggs, White Castle "Castle Bites" and @McDonalds #McChicken sandwiches, and tried them each blindfolded (there is a noticeable color difference). #SeansFirstTimeEating presses on for an epic one.

As a Hellman’s guy…..I was intrigued by this!
I switched a few years ago from Hellmann's, but sometimes, my store is sold out of Duke's, and I don't complain one bit if I have to grab some Hellmann's instead!
When you try something new, get the smallest jar, in case you get grossed out!

I'm Irish and moved to Australia last year. I learned about these Mayo's from your channel I managed to get kewpie and only today I was so surprised to find dukes in a random store. Hands down dukes and kewpie beat Helmans. I couldn't believe I found dukes mayo. All thanks to you Mr Ely you beautiful bastard

Trick for deviled eggs, slice the bottom of the egg slightly. This gives a flat surface for it to rest which makes it much more stable.
Great video! I’ve had Duke’s and Kewpie. Both are good and I get it. In my experience, though, Hellman’s works for pretty much everything. But, hey…thank you for the work that you and Aly and Lionel do. - ITCOMAGIC

I only use mayo for certain sandos. A ham sando had to be butter and English mustard. I do a variation with ham, cheese+pickle which I go back and forth between butter and mayo (It's English pickle not dill pickles).
Cheese and onion sando, generally mayo as it help keep the shredded cheese in the sando. Roast beef sando has to be butter and onion salt (horseradish optional).
When you did the deviled eggs, did you put English mustard in there? For me it's a must have as well as paprika.
I'm definitely a Dukes girl. Fricken love Mayonnaise. ❤️ ❤❤ helps the food slide down the food chute.

I love mayo, especially dukes, I made mac salad for the first time because of watching you eat it. I didn't have macaroni so i made Medium Shell Salad.
As a half Japanese half white guy I’ve got both in my fridge and love em both greatly. Duke’s is phenom for grilled ham and cheeses. Kewpie is fantastic for breakfast sandos with a little spicy ketchup as well
In regards to the Mac salad, If it's a side would u not want it richer & heavier as ur not eating as much since its a side?

Now you need to do a kewpie vs. chosen foods mayo made with avocado oil! It's my favorite and kewpie is a close second.
Aly’s intrusive thoughts almost won when she mentioned how you look like Dracula with that white stuff on your mouth. Hahaha. 😂😂😂😂 I died Aly when you stopped your thought as I was thinking the same thing.
Dukes mayo used to make a grilled cheese but then you add in your bacon lettuce and tomato for one of the best blts ever. It’s a go to staple.

Seany two eggs. A kicker on the deviled eggs is to put a dill pickle on it like a cherry on top of a sundae! Cut up some pickle chips and plant that bad boy like the fin of a shark! Kicker for shur

I have tried Kewpie, and i liked it! For all around mayo applications, i would pick Dukes. Blue plate is another mayo that shouldnt be slept on👍

I'm surprised you didn't do a tuna fish sandwich or a straight hamburger/ cheeseburger . Here in northern California we have a chain of hamburger joints that only put Mayo on it Burger and I have to admit it really good. Nations hamburger is what it's called just in the bay area.
I coulda done like 15 different things; just had to limit it somewhere. If I do this type of a video again, those are two fantastic options for foods.

Kewpie wins automatically for being in a squeeze bottle. Just kidding, great comparison. People sometimes ask me about the difference between kewpie and other mayo brands. I often say mayo is mayo and I really don't care. But now I have a place to send them... ;)

The only way I can eat mayonnaise is in egg salad or tuna salad or deviled eggs. I want to like one of them on sandwiches but if there’s been mayonnaise on my sandwich even if I scrape it off I still can’t eat it so what one would you a Mayo hater be able to to tolerate on a sandwich between the 2

Home is Nc so I’ve always used Dukes but when I lived in Japan for three yrs Kewpie was always my second fav but hands down Dukes is superior just my opinion
I'll do you one better: the Kewpie you have is the American market/export Kewpie. Domestic Japanese Kewpie is thicker and more flavor-concentrated because it isn't watered down, is richer and tangier with more vinegar and egg, and contains MSG so it's more savory. Supposedly the Kewpie they sell at Costco is closer to Japanese, but still not identical... could really test your palate with those three if you want!
And can't remember if you already discovered this, but you can unscrew the top of the Kewpie bottle to get a wider star nozzle.
How do you know the difference? Is there something different in the packaging? I have bought Kewpie at Wal Mart and at an Asian import food store, never noticed a difference.

@@Wilco1972 Just about anything you're going to buy in the US is going to be the US-made US market stuff. It does tell you where it's made on the back, and the list of ingredients will be different.
Kewpie I had there hamburgers at the restaurant in Lima Ohio same baby logo and everything they were pretty good old school fast food place they take your order while and write it down maybe because they were busy wonder if it's the same company?

Different company. Kewpee restaurants also don’t use Kewpie mayo. The Kewpee restaurants' baby is a doll, spelled Kewpie in Japan, which is in fact what the Japanese mayo/company is named after. Weird, but ok :)
Before I watch this video...I must say I had been intrigued by the popularity of Kewpie mayo. Especially with a lot of TH-camrs using it religiously. I tried it. Then threw away the bottle. Not a fan. I only use Dukes. Duke's for the win...ALWAYS!

I would not compare the two they are completely different on there own and I thing kewpie taste like deviled egg filling already yes it is tasty but I wouldn’t use it to replace regular Mayo for everything

The kewpie mayo is way, way more off-white. Almost yellow. I can tell instantly compared to Duke’s. That answer your question?

I just so happened to be making krab salad with Kewpie mayo earlier in the day and didn't really notice the color, but I also don't have more than one mayo open at a time, which is a shame because I agree with you that both are very good but for different things. I've used Kewpie on certain things and felt it was just wrong, but I don't think I've ever had that happen with Duke's, or my typical pick Hellman's.

I currently have both in my fridge, with the Duke's being my default mayo for nearly everything. The Kewpie, I keep on hand for a specific rice and tuna dish, which is basically a cup or so of rice when done, with some soy sauce added after cooking, mixed into the rice, then, you add your can of tuna, and finally the Kewpie mayo, and stir that all together, and you have a quick, easy meal.
