Trump can end the conflict in 1 day. Announce that the USA will not support Ukraine with money or weapons. Impose a 100% tariff on any country supporting Ukraine. The problem is why would the USA end the conflict. The country benefiting the most from the conflict in Ukraine is the USA. At the moment, the most likely outcome is Trump will boast that the USA will not send aid or weapons to Ukraine. Trump will order NATO countries to increase contributions from 2% to 5%. The NATO countries will pay more to support Ukraine, any country that does not contribute 5% to NATO will be sanctioned. In summary, the gravy train for the USA in Ukraine will continue.

Is Ukraine a sovereign state or not? If it is, the US can't negotiate a deal over the head of Ukraine. Ukraine and Russia must negotiate the peace settlement between them. If Ukraine is not sovereign, then that makes the US a direct combatant.
