      Interesting approach, I haven' t flown a nbd AIO since the BeeBrain lite which was inovative as it actively slowed the (brushed) motors to feel closer to a brushless and was one of thee first to integrate the vtx into the fc. I fly my whoops more than my 5inch (generally 1-2 times a week for the past 5 years) and have been using an old bee eye camera for years and get comments all the time asking which camera i use. That being said the vtx and goggle receiver make a huge difference too, in this case more than most as you said. It would also have been nice to say whether the diversity receiver is spi or uart based after releasing the video on how some may not be supported in the future that could be a dealbreaker for me and others if the board isn't future proof, especially considering the price tag...

    My longest lived drone ever was a newbeedrone acrobee. I flew it several times a month for 3 years. It accumulated HOURS of flight time, hundreds of batteries, without ever breaking anything. It still flew great right up until my dog finally caught it and broke the board. It was by far my best fun per $ fpv purchase.

      That's about $55 bucks more than a Mobula 6 with ELRS built in and a much better camera! And the Mobula6 KICKS ITS AS$! A way better flying whoop... We could buy 3 Mobula6's for the price of two Newbeedrone mediocre whoops! 💸💸💸 Fly away money with Newbeedrone!🤦

    Reminds me of my old NBD whoop.
    - Heavy frame.
    - Annoying custom motor and camera plugs.
    - Terrible image and OSD.
    - Custom version of Betaflight.
    The one good thing about it was that the motors had solder tabs.
    Mixing and matching Happymodel parts into a BetaFPV frame turned out to be the best option.
    I do like the NBD BeeBrain V2 canopies though.

    Love 99% percent of your content and ALWAYS look at your reviews before purchase, if said review exist. My first lil dude was a Mobula6 with a Zorro.Then Moblite6 and Moblite7. Then, then after 6-8 purchases...Bam! NBD had a brushed thingy with a PMB tune, holy crap! It was inexpensive..like 50.00. Gold motors (bought extra) and broke two. One was my fault. Got a second from WeBleedFpV (full price, so what). So I got some brushed without PMB tune too. So I got issues with money /value hahaha. Point is: This is fun shit and even if I break stuff, oh well, fix it. Fly again. Also Brushless is King for many reasons, but Brushed has something I can't describe. Also, whoever does the PMB tune is magical. It is quick, not fast. Yaw is wild and ....

    8:22 NBD motors when bought separately do come with the normal motor plugs found on all other whoop boards. And I know Jesse Perkins actually had a thing on his shop showing NBD specific plugs for free and he goes on a rant of how silly it is in the item description 😂
    Also NBD does sell their specific motor plug as well. It's a lot of easier now that most motors have the PCB board on the motor base now so it's easier to swap plug types around on motors. NBD has the PCB board on their motors now too.

    Newbeedrone usually has really good build quality, but they sometimes make some strange choices that can cause you problems down the line if you want to upgrade a component or replace something that has broken. I have a couple older hummingbirds, one is even brushed, and they both still fly, but the brushless one does way better as a 75mm build with those 1800kv motors.

    Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the Hummingbird F4 Pro, either. Really interesting to know that it's the vtx and not the camera. I've been deep diving into whoops lately and just built in 18 g 702 26000kv rig that flies better than anything I've flown in that class. I noticed a lot of the racers were going with the bee eye camera, and I just couldn't figure out why. The tiny whoop pinch camera is fantastic, especially for the size and weight.
    The proprietary connectors bug me as well. I wanted to build a mosquito with their flight controller in camera, but with slightly bigger motors, and had to solder new plugs. 😕
    VTX idea does seem cool, but it also doesn't seem like anything that's been necessary, in my experience.
    25g is nuts. I tell people now, if you can stay below 20 g with higher KV motors and low pitch props, you'll have a winning formula.

    JB, the blowing out image is a result of the HDZ goggles not the camera or OSD. I am having the exact same issue on my moblite6 with diamond f4 and runcam nano 3 while I did not have the issue on my skyzone 04x's or DJI V2's with analog input. I posted on the hdzero facebook group and there were quite a few that said updating the firmware helps but not completely. • @russellzauner
    @russellzauner ปีที่แล้ว

    It's not disagreement on the motors - if you take a smaller motor and make it do the same work as a larger one I would expect components to derate faster, and most derating curves are non-linear. It's like using a smaller tire on a car, it's going to rotate more times on less rubber, wearing out faster than larger ones (given similar dimensions otherwise) for the same given distance traveled (or in the drone's case, hours ran on a given size motor).

  • @maikwerner7325
    @maikwerner7325 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the HDZero goggle overexpose the analog feed?! There was an issue reported. Even the cam from the Mobeetle was overexposed and in the previous review it was not
    Anyway, nice comparison. NBD seems like a higher quality manufacture and they try new things, which is nice, but I think they should focus on user experience, too. The drones are in the same weight territory as the Mobula 6 HD (HD video - big plus) and almost the price to the Mob6 HD. NBD makes it certainly harder to upgrade (motors, firmware...) compared to the others. It is great to see 12A ESC (good for Toothpick), a smart VTx, BUT BUT BUT

    With smaller Kv they probably are going for the flight duration but then why 3 blades?! The opposite is also true.
    Also why a diversity ELRS when the analog feed is going to die way before ELRS will almost for sure (prove me wrong)?!

    Unlike some of the other reviewers & consultants on YT, you cover all aspect of the present day drone tech… regardless of their size or your own preferences… Thanks for the honest review… NBD makes good stuff but also needs to standardize their stuff for comparability… I always though their camera was crappy and never bought one until now watching your video I realized it’s the VTX and not the camera… I like their motors and their reliable canopies… 👍🏼 ah forgot to mention their AZI props… Best in the class hands down. I also feel these quads aLthough are heavy compared to Mobula’s, will perform a lot better with BT2.0.

    also a warning for yall spi receivers are bad heres why if you dont ever upate the betaflight and then want to use a new radio and need to relink them guess what the new beta flight wont let you do it.. youll have to find and download a old version of beta flight if you can find it then once done you have to reinstall the new version its a pain.. so keep up those updates or else youll probably never get your radio bound ever again i have a ura65 and cant find a version that binds it i think it has 3.1 fw so i need the configurator in exe format not that hex stuff anyone know where i can find it?

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Correct me if I'm wrong but who else other than nbd makes motors with this size of plug? Betamax may have been one of the first video tape formats, and itay have been technically superior, but VHS was infinitely more popular. If a movie had come out only in Betamax I'd criticize that decision too. The point, to me, is what's best for the user.

    • @zachcarrizales5038
      @zachcarrizales5038 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoshuaBardwell You are right, as far as I know no one is using these same connectors right now. But NBD has been using these size connectors from the beginning - 2 pin for brushed and 3 pin for blushless. And due to the fact that they have been using this connector so long and the fact they have some many motors with this connector they don't want to release a product that doesn't work for their customers. That is the best decision for their user right?
