Hey luke 👋 I think most people have forgotten that this is only 1st full season of unai emery in charge with his set of players (alex,tilemans,pau,diaby,zaniolo,lenglet,rogers). But in this season we had more outgoing through injuries than incoming of players in 3 windows(Bundiea,mings,no alex for first 4-5 months of this season, no jacob ramsey, pau gone for 2 months(jan,feb), kamara out for season and for some time our 1st choice cb was lenglet and we played lenget chambers in one game lol, digne was out for sometime as well we played mcgin at lb against Everton i think in carabo cup, and konsa out for some time as well after sheffield game and now cash aswell out injured ) ouff. If my memory is right this is our injury list. But still we are in contention for 4th spot. We need to build a momentum for last push through remaining games and build a positive atmosphere in the player camp hopefully avoiding injuries.
It’s been an amazing season and this is just the beginning of our journey. Bigger and better things are coming we just have to be patient! None of us thought we would be in the champions league next season and we will be 🎉🎉🎉 UTV!!!

Given our terrible luck with injuries and having to play extra games through being in Europe, I think it’s an absolute miracle we are where we are in the league. Whether we finish 4th or 5th it’s still been an incredible season, certainly the best in my life time and full credit to Emery and the players.

The manager himself has come out and said that we cant use injuries as an excuse, so i think its time us fans did the same. We can talk about our injury list until the season ends but we've just got to get on with it now and accept the players we have available. At the beginning of the season i predicted Villa to finish 4th and still think we will accomplish that. We have some tough games ahead but so do Spurs so think it will go to the wire but still confident. This is the best season for such a long time plus the future looks even better. The whole squad and coaching staff have done wonders under Unai, the best manager we have ever had in my book. Winning the Conference league and bringing home a trophy woul be the icing on the cake for this season. Bring it on and Up the Villa.
Enjoyed this. Felt like a peptalk. It's so easy to see negatives and blow setbacks out of proportion. Villa can do that to you. We've seen so many false dawns after all. There's a few more twists and turns before the seasons done. Up the Villa!!
I’m in your gang Luke, I was a bit despondent on after the Brentford match but you are right whatever happens we’ve had a fantastic season. I mean having a fantastic season. Our expectation levels have sky rocketed over the last 18 months. If we hadn’t suffered with the amount and type of injuries we’d still be in that race for first. Players have got to keep cool and cut out the dissent,it really hurts us.
Don Emery has given us so much hope. From 17th to 7th, then 5th with 6 games to go is absolutely insane progression. Yes we have had some ups and downs but so many more ups than downs. We've been spoilt. Love what Watkins has come out and said, we need to get behind the players and Emery, no matter what happens its been a season to remember! Utv

Love the positivity. I’ve no issue as a fan giving and hearing constructive criticism of the team, but supporting means that we go into every game with hope and belief. I also think back to before pre-season began and I prayed to a god I don’t believe in that we make it to 6th this season. Where we had been for years, this seemed massive, and even if we have a string of bad results and the nightmare happens and Utd fluke their way to a huge haul of points, I won’t love this team any the less.

I appreciate the rallying cry to the fans. We are indeed having a great season. I would be overjoyed with 5th. I understand the effect of injuries. There are huge pluses - Watkins, Bailey and now Rogers. However the Brentford collapse was the last in line of inexplicable embarrassing defensive performances since Boxing Day. How on Earth with his legendary match analysis Emery hasn’t sorted this by now. I’m beginning to think that some of our players are just plain daft. We get McGinn back and now Dougie gets himself suspended with seconds on the clock. You just couldn’t make that up. Top 4 teams can drop the occasional points but don’t consistently produce performances where they manage or almost manage to snatch defeat or draws out of the mouth of victory. Just hoping for a positive result against Lille and a fighting performance against Arsenal. The last thing we need is our GD taking a capitulation battering like against Spurs.
I find it difficult to understand how many people drop to the bottom of the pit when results don’t go our way? Yes feel disappointed & yes feel angry but there really is an overreaction from sections of our fans. We must remember though that theiy will have Tue - Sun whilst we have Thur - Sun. As I type that I accept thay I'd just settle for not getting hammered.
Problem with Europa League is it doesn't move us forward enough Financially and for me would make it so we don't get CL for years. Thursday games will be even harder with no money to buy better or even more players.
New rules replacing FFP already have us right in the edge of them, swollowing up the extra sponsorships weve done. They actually make things even easier for the big boys.

@@ljmolly4029 Lille? Olympiacos? What? These are absolute minnows. The latter have revenues of £21m. Roughly the same as Rotherham, who are bottom of the Chanpionship
@@pauldurdin6163 Lille's total revenue was approx 147m in 2022. And they were in the CL that year and won their group. How is any fan of Villa going to call them "minnows"? There are disparities among leagues (and their teams) in terms of broadcasting, match day, and commercial revenues and I'm sure you know why. Being in the richest league in the world at the moment doesn't mean we should pretend we're "giants" of anything in the modern era.
