    Something I thought about the Villa Live space is that they could potentially show away games on a big screen in there where you could go and watch it. Also for EUROs and World Cups. Maybe also show Villa home games so fans who can't get a ticket could go and watch the game there and feel more included in the club. May cause complications with travel and congestion if you do the latter, but if the better travel links are put in place as Purslow mentioned they're in talks to do, it could be a viable source of income for the club as well

    Good points about transport, access and facilities. Glad to hear that our history is at heart. I do not want a 'plastic' stadium or the unique character of Villa Park to be lost. I'm big on fresh, clean and loads of light and space, so that sounds good. Jury's out on the.badge, though I miss the word 'PREPARED'. Yes to the ' Ron Saunders Stand'. We must not lose the old historical frontage! If the fans welcome all the changes, fine. Let's hope it inspires the players too!

    oh by the way the Stand on Witton Lane is the Witton Lane Stand and the so called North Stand is the Witton. What would people think if the name of the Holte was changed.

  • @WingmanLive
    @WingmanLive 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    When the Holte End was built it had the steepest upper tier in Europe. It put us on the map, i don't think the new North stand should be more extravagant than the Holte end as historically the Holte has always been the main stand. if they join it on to trinity and make it the same all the way around you could get away with it though but i cant imagine the North stand ever being the most majestic stand.

    • @divbody
      @divbody 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure if that's correct, the Holte end was the largest behind goal stand in Europe but I don't think the upper tier is actually that Steep. Many European stands were steeper including behind goal at Signal Aduna Park, and a few Spanish stadiums. As a structure the old end actually sits back but it's so huge it's height is imposing. In recent times the New North Bank at Wolves is steeper than the Holte end although its not as big in capacity

    Nice one guys, personally I’m all for the new stadium but they need to incorporate the history of the stadium too. North Stand? Yeah it’s part of the History too even if it’s just a name ! Good stuff lads 👍 I think the box park style idea will be a masterstroke especially on the back of the news that the club is getting involved in a 30m redevelopment of Witton Station (which will hopefully be renamed) Coupled with the improvements around Witton itself I see no reason why it can't be used as a venue for concerts, sports events etc. One small gripe is the name Villa Live. I don't like that as a name. Also I think the capacity of the new North Stand will be closer to 16k than 13k.

  • @thenigelhughes
    @thenigelhughes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Anything that’s adds to the capacity is a good thing as so many fans can’t currently watch. From what they have shown so far it looks good to me.
    The one thing I don’t understand is how will the ground get up to 60k (after the North stand has been done). Surely they won’t touch the Holte end and that means they will have to knock down or expand either the Trinity Road (unlikely as they are making changes to that as part of the north stand rebuild) or the Wilton lane stand. Given there is a road behind that stand that would be logistically very hard and expensive. Thoughts?

    It looks similar to Liverpool's new main stand, we need to see the curved brickwork of the old Trinity stand - look at the back of the Holte end for example

  • @divbody
    @divbody 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Without wanting to sound negative, the drawings are quite poor and almost childlike. The owners have an opportunity to create something unique to Aston Villa, something spectacular but the design looks quite predictable. I would suggest that more attention to detail needs to be included to the exterior, keeping the Archibald Leach architectural designs in mind ref the old Trinity road stand. The real thing has to be far better than the drawings would suggest

    • @bradsimmons8952
      @bradsimmons8952 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most early designs are drawn like this, to give a general understanding of what the plans might look like. I imagine, these will be updated fairly soon. It makes sense to provide an update with some images even if they aren’t the most in depth graphics.

    • @divbody
      @divbody 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bradsimmons8952 of course they will be updated, I didn't say anything to suggest otherwise; the early drawings are quite poor in my opinion and I am entitled to an opinion. If you read correctly you will see that I make the point that the real thing needs to be better " clearly suggesting that work needs to be done and changes need to be made" The club invited opinions

    • @divbody
      @divbody 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Cian you have actually embarrassed yourself because I do understand. The initial drawings are open to criticism and the club invited opinions from fans; it is my opinion that the early drawings are quite poor, several things need to be considered and the plans need adjusting. ( in my opinion). As I said the club are encouraging fans to comment ( based on those drawings). Of course the plans will be updated as feedback and options change. Embarrassed? I think you should be lol

    • @divbody
      @divbody 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Cian not at all mate they invited opinions and comments from fans you've got that wrong. Why would they release drawings in public to invite critiques from supposed experts only? That doesn't make any sense.
      I completely understand that the initial drawings are basic and again it's my ( opinion) that they're quite poor. The club will value supporters feedback, I'm not quite sure where you're going with your comments

    Good that we're increasing capacity to 50000+,i was getting concerned we were getting left behind as a number of clubs we should be on a par with in increased a number of years ago. It's good to see our present owners are very forward thinking & get us fans involved, we're blessed! When faze 2 comes into being, I can see the most obvious way?

    My thoughts are, that it's ok building a new stand but the rest of it won't get used by the locals just like the Holte pub is closed except for match days. The local community are mainly Asian and the club needs ideas to attract them on non-match days. Star city is just up the road and is not that popular anymore. The Club needs to think carefully before building stuff that won't get used.
    The New Stand is a fantastic idea but the rest has to be really really carefully planned, otherwise it will be a White Elephant that is only used on match days

    • @joshuajones1793
      @joshuajones1793 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree with this point Martin, I'm sorry to say that but I do believe quite a lot of our fan base will make the effort to go and visit this new facility once up and running, even when it's not a match day as it's somewhere new and different to go to, plus it's connected with the club and helps us sustain ourselves financially for the future! I don't see any particular reason why true Villa fans would not get behind this idea! 🙈 🤷🏾‍♂️ 🙄
