Exiting from hyperspace for Earth ships is a bit of gamble, you don't know exactly where you end up in normal space. The jumpgate gives you precise control of where to exit because it acts as a hyperspace beacon. If you want to surprise a target, jumping in halfway across the solar system is not the best way to do it.
Minbari ships are more advanced, so they can pinpoint their exit far more precise.

Don't forget, that a single torpedo into the engineering section was able to destroy it in Generations

She was a famous Yugoslav actress who had to leave during their wars. This, and the scene where she dissolved the council were personal to her, very personal. JMS always tried to use an actor's life experiences to inform their roles, to be able to get more out of them. He succeeded.

yeah its like most saying that line would give it as much hardman brag attitude as possible, as they talk of crushing and ending their opponents. She drops it like it that for most of the lines, but on "...or be destroyed" its also like she has a sad almost quivering "regretful-to-have-to-be-having-to-kill-them" vibe about it too. Like that tells you itself that what she'd do to em would be SO beyond emphatic that they'd have zero chance in attacking, and that she'd be mourning what effectively would be their mass suicide. Which is perfectly in character with the strength, yet also insight and compassion of a Delenn who learned so much since the 1st fateful Earth/Mimbar encounter. Furlan was incredible.

B5 would never have done a story where Ivanova constantly demeaned Sheridan, saved the day and then was repeatedly told how great she was. That's the issue with how todays entertainment treats female characters in action movies. The portrayals in B5 were very real, the characters had strengths and, more importantly, flaws. That's the point: it's actually a better Star Trek series than the actual Star Trek series in recent years. Hell, some of the episodes are even hitting on the same social issues and trying to make the same points, the difference is it doesn't treat you like you're braindead and need to be told what to think, instead it encourages you TO think.

One does not simply watch Severed Dreams. Its power comes from the world building and increasing tension of the previous 2 seasons and it must be approached via them for it to have full impact. I remember when I saw it for the first time, after being totally invested in the story and world built leading up to it. For those few minutes B5 was my world, my life, and everything hung in the balance. Will we ever see si fi like this again?

As EPIC as this scene is, I respected her even more at the conclusion of the Minbari civil war, where she acknowledges that the Warrior Caste is winning and then just flat out denies the assumption that this means they get to be in charge. It was so ballsy, politically brilliant and matter of fact that she essentially managed to bludgeon a vastly superior force into submission mere seconds after unconditionally surrendering to them with nothing but the threat of making their leader look bad to do it.

She had the essential support of Neroon, but yes, it was her sheer force of personality that overwhelmed Shakiri. Neroon pointing out Shakiri's words that life and death were two sides of the same coin, neither to be preferred over the other which showed the utter contempt Shakiri had for his own people and the hypocrisy inherent in his actions. May there be a place set aside for Delenn right beside the place set aside for Neroon.

I could of seen Neroon being extremely protective of Delen if he had lived not just as someone he truly respects but as someone he knows truly serves their people in there heart. Neroon for all his faults was a good man when it counted and had and was a true protector and servant of his people.

@@SpielkindFR Quite probably you are. She was fulfilling the role set aside for her in prophesy by Valenn. Were you not aware of that? And she paid her penance for that decision a thousand times over. But yeah, fixate on one wrong decision and grind on that until the end of the universe. That is the mentality of a small child. If that is the perception you want to give people of yourself, that is your choice. I would rather accept the heartfelt contrition she expressed and the many ways she has fought to make up for that one wrong choice she was destined to make, rather than blame one person for the collective actions of her entire race. You can continue to be the child you told us you are, or you can behave as a grown-up and accept that you too have made poor choices. Does that make you responsible for all the evil in the world today? Think about that you anonymous hate monger. And someone who criticizes anonymously is hardly a credible source for justifiable complaints.

@@fozzy1004 I agree with you. There should be a fifty foot tall statue of Neroon somewhere in the capital city. I always saw him as the potential he carried within. He seemed a warrior with some degree of reason. That was how Delenn described the Shai Alit as well. Since Neroon was his second, it is hardly surprising that he would fit the same mold. But he became so much more than he began as. I would like to meet the person his spirit came to occupy in the next generation. I would hope that this person became the same sort of person Neroon was. Neroon also developed a great rapport, it would seem, with Marcus Cole. I would have liked to see more of that friendship established.

@@Lightingwarrior To be fair though a second Earth-Minbari war might not have been quite as one-sided as the last one....as the only reason it was so one-sided to begin with was the fact that Earth ships couldn't lock onto Minbari ones due to the stealth tech but in the time afterwards I'm sure Earth probably developed a countermeasure against that....but even in the first war....even without being able to achieve a target lock Earth ships still had enough firepower to severely damage, if not outright destroy, a Minbari Sharlin-class warcruiser...although I'm sure Minbari warcruisers still retained the ability to cut through the armor on EA ships like hot knives through butter...so at best it would've likely been a war of attrition depending on who fires first in any subsequent engagements

One of the best Sci-fi shows I've ever watched. Take a bow Mr. Straczynski.
