I have heard that this was the week that Mitch's solo EP _Roses_ came out, so that's why he looks so distracted and keeps checking his phone between takes. It's lovely to see that Kirstin, who was so shy and self-effacing in the early days, has embraced the fact that, after Scott, she is the loudest voice in the group: "I'm going to be SO LOUD."
This is the album that recently received a Grammy nomination. Ben Bram is the guy you were wondering about. He is their musical arranger. He and Scott are the ones who initially came up with the idea of Pentatonix.
@rogerroger5171 Yes and I think they go back even farther than that. I understand they met when Scott was in college/university and began working together way back then.
The guy you were wondering about is Ben Bram, the 'sixth member' of PTX. He has been with them since the Sing Off. Jacob Restituto has some great interviews with him on his reaction channel.
Isn’t this absolutely fabulous. We all know they sound perfect all the time, but I love that we have this video to show how hard they work and how collaborative and creative they are. This is also the album they were nominated for their 4th Grammy.
He actually doesnt have the one they won with Dolly because that one was for performance while the other were for arrangements. But yep, he share the other two and was the only one present to accept the second one since the rest of the band was rehearsing for the televised part of the grammys
Oh yes! Thank you, Carmen! No more recording in kitchens, or closets. Although they DID win a Grammy for "Daft Punk Medley" . The remarkable thing about all the work on "Over the River" is that most of it was just for background layering.
Thank you for doing this BTS Carmen ❤️. Love how they all listen to each other and have fun, they are doing EXACTLY what they were born to do, you can see / feel their joy. There’s a quote I love, something like “the only place success comes before work is in the dictionary” - that’s PTX, their work ethic combined with their incredible talent ❤️🙌🙌
Ben Bram at the piano has been with them since before "The Sing Off". He sang with Scott in an a cappella group when they were in college in L.A. Kirstie's baby daddy is the director and videographer for PTX.
Got so excited seeing this in my feed I made a little jump and sound, haha! Perfect in time for my dinner entertainment! This is probably my favourite behind the scene thing they've put out. So much insight to both the technical stuff but mostly their dynamics. Loving your reaction and joy
No. 1 - Scott is about an inch or so taller than Kevin; Kirstie is actually short (about 5'2", but always wears 4-5 inch heels). No. 2 - Ben Bram is the 6th "member" since right after the Sing Off show. He and Scott do much of the arrangements, but they ALL contribute !! No. 3 - Throughout their careers, they worked getting together, but for a couple years (COVID), they set up "studios" in their homes and did contribute separately. No. 4 - Go listen/react to one of their concert videos on "I Saw Three Ships"...blows your mind. BONUS video of how great they are LIVE...."2016 PopSpring Concert". Sponsored by MTV, so the video and sound is top-notch...it's about 15 minutes where they sing 4 of their own songs...AMAZING !!
Kirstie is actually 5'4". Scott is 6' 3". Kevin is reportedly 5' 11" but does body building ( probably to support his beatboxing which takes considerable breathing techniques) so he looks larger that the rest simply because of his muscle mass. Mitch is 5' 10" and Matt is 5 ' 11".
I love the behind the scenes aspect of this, how everthing comes together so beautifully and, it seems, effortlessly. Nice reaction, well done. Peace from Ohio …
I got so tickled watching you react to this!! I have watched this so many times and always seem to be amazed by it!! Thank you for making a Pentatonix Monday...your reactions to them are always great. You know if you wait until Christmas to react to Over The River, thy may have 13 new songs to add to your list 😂 Feel free to throw in a Christmas song now and then throughout the year...Pentaholics truly don't mind!!!!
I'm a sucker for anything BTS, so this was fascinating for me the first time I saw it. The best parts for me were the way in Over the River they would make tiny changes to how they were singing the same line, have people listen to it, and then make more changes - just repeating that process over and over until they finally got something they were all happy with. And then experimenting with different forms of percussion for the last part, again making things up on the fly, trying them, and then making modifications and trying again. On Kevin's height: while he is 6'1", Matt is pretty much the same height, and Scott is 6'3" or 6'4". Mitch is 5'10", and Kirstie is 5'4", so if you see any of them next to her, they're going to seem taller, because in this video she was wearing sneakers, not the 3-4" heels she normally wears on stage to help cut down the height difference. When they were all standing around in the room singing and she was next to Scott (around the 11:00 mark of your video), she seems so small, even though she's above average height for a woman of her heritage.
Great reaction. You watched a video to see how they work, and you loved it. Then you made this video showing your satisfaction, and I loved it. I really can't ask for more.
This shows why they hae 3 Grammys. Good is not enough, it has to be so clean and repeatable so that all 5 of them sound great. Ok maybe KO or Matt are not in the exact point of the music but their parts have to "fit" or it will sound off. Also the guy that is not singing but there all the time is Ben Bram the 6th member who realized after working with PTX in the Sing Off that PTX had something to exceptional to not be a part of the process.
Hey! I really enjoyed your reaction to Dimash. Something else I think would be far outside your regular experience is Pain Remains I - Dancing Like Flames by Lorna Shore. I strongly suggest you have the lyrics in front of you if you listen to it.
You have done a ton of ptx but I didn't see any HOME FREE or VOICE PLAY the bass of vice play is GEFF CASTELLUCCI he has a Christmas song of MERRY GENTLEMEN. It will knock you for a loop just saying

Ben actually worked with PTX and the other groups during the "Sing Off". Since then, he has worked with them on their recordings.

They are all such down to earth people , one big family. It always makes me happy to see them happy after working so long together

I love how much they trust each others opinions.
The behind the scenes for Bohemian Rhapsody is really good!
Nothing amazes me more than them just bursting out these powerful harmonies in the most random settings. It's so powerful.
Isn’t this absolutely fabulous. We all know they sound perfect all the time, but I love that we have this video to show how hard they work and how collaborative and creative they are. This is also the album they were nominated for their 4th Grammy.
I've already watched this so many times and I love getting to watch it with reactors for the "first" time.
Ben Bram has all the Grammys as well. He is a master and Legendary producer.
He actually doesnt have the one they won with Dolly because that one was for performance while the other were for arrangements. But yep, he share the other two and was the only one present to accept the second one since the rest of the band was rehearsing for the televised part of the grammys
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca yep forgot about Dolly

How many times this video made you laugh and giggle! It made you happy, and I felt exactly the same when I first saw this! Great reaction!

Great reaction. I also find this BTS very interesting. I love how they all respect each other's suggestions and give them a try.
Never worry about talking to much. We’re here for your reaction and thoughts 😊
Thank you 😊

Over the River is on a Christmas Album but it’s not a Christmas song so you could play it anytime like The Prayer
So awesome! Thank you! 😁😁😎
thank you for doing this, Frank from State College, Pa in USA
I don’t know how such a big voice comes out of Kirstin’s tiny body.

Two weeks, 14 tracks...WOW
good video
Have you got Kevin's "Down" in your queue yet?
I believe Kirstie was pregnant as they were doing this but didn’t tell anyone yet
