That really was sad but beautiful. You are the second reactor I’ve heard today that is having to deal with complaints. I feel it is the reactor’s choice to share their opinions. Seems that is kind of the point. Love your reactions. IMO you don’t focus too much on any one of them. Just keep doing it your way. ❤ It’s been a while since I heard this song. Thanks for sharing it.
If you have a couple of spare minutes, I would recommend watching the live version they did from their "A Not So Silent Night" tour a few years back (I think around 2018, when Kirstie broke her ankle and was in a cast for a while). There are two different versions of this song on the album, one with Kevin beatboxing and one with a drum section helping out, but in the live version you can see that it's all Kevin, with Matt backing him up beautifully. And there's a section near the beginning where Kirstie has the lead for a couple of lines and you can watch her sing lead, drop back to harmony for 2(!) notes, and then pick up the lead again "without missing a beat". It's not anything new for PTX, but it's nice to see such a clear example of it. th-cam.com/video/NYzGVYiQP-o/w-d-xo.html
I still remember my 1st time hearing this. It was such a pleasant surprise from PTX because it's actually not a Christmas song. It's originally from Kanye West and PTX just put an amazing twist to it (like they do to everything!)
I love both the Kanye version and this version for different reasons. But the reason this song is so sad, is because its Kanye west saying goodbye to his mother who was his best friend.
They have a second version of this song, as part of their 2019 album, called "Coldest Winter - Bobby Alt Drum Mix". I think it is the original recording (2016 album) with Drum mix add. They have quite some songs that have multiple arrangements/versions. Another examples are Hallelujah ft. The String Mob, or O Holy Night (2012 vs 2023 versions)
⛄👉If I recall Scott co-directed the video and I remember a behind the scenes clip or picture of Scott moving the snowman figures around for the video. Though the video is sad it does fit the song. I believe the other members were on break doing different things in different places and they were not available for a video shoot so they went with this.
One of my favorites, but neglected by reactors because it's not a Christmas song but it's on one of the Christmas albums because it mentions winter. I like the snowman romance video but find it distracting and prefer the "live" version of this from A Not So Silent Night, one of Pentatonix's TV specials. It's always better when you can watch them singing.
Thanks for the reaction. th-cam.com/video/BpDcJZWO4Kk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Fmav4q9vTdZa88QM This is a link to a 2019 concert for this song. Much more dynamic n u will not feel so sad. Now looking for a clip from a TV special for this song. You will love it
I hope "O Holy Night " is on your list! It's mind blowing! Merry Christmas
I love when Mitch gets to sing in his lower tenor range. He has such a beautiful tone.

I love this song, so glad you did it - it's mostly overlooked by reactors!
I agree, Carmen. This was Mitch’s song and the harmonies are fabulous. Thanks for reacting to this sad but beautiful song. One of my favourites. 💜
Beautiful! I hadn’t heard this one before. ❤

We love a Mitch and Kirstin duo
I agree completely with everything you said. Can’t wait until next week. Hope you are having a wonderful December. Time does go by too fast!

I totally get loving the song, but hating the video. For me it was 'viva forever' by the spice girls.
