In the black swan description on Bighit site it says "As dancers die in their first deaths when they stop dancing, bts capture the fear of a moment when they no longer stand on stage as artists." "bts say if the more they do music, the less it impresses or excites them, they will face their first death like dancers. However, whenever they face themselves, and the moment they face the black swan inside them, they paradoxically realize that they only have music" I think that's the reason why the 'swan' don't really fly in the end, that they can't scape. Anyway love your reaction 💕
Lin woooow. I couldn’t wrap myself around the whole first death thing but that explains it very well! I feel like we’re only at the tip of the iceberg and more about that will be showed throughout the whole album. Grammy here we come! Thank you for watching! :)
@@JeffAvenue your tip of the iceberg thing is spot on. RM said in their reaction to this dance film that when we hear the album as a whole then we'll understand more. Suga also said in a past interview (and in paraphrasing y'all) that we shouldn't always interpret just one song, that the whole album conveys the message.
They layer up their voices into one indistinguishable and almost distorted voice which is why they all kinda sound like each other in parts. I've noticed that BTS sometimes uses autotune or some other form of voice distortion when they are talking about struggling to find or maintain identity. Seeing as the lyrics are specifically about them dying as artists, I think they are trying to demonstrate their fear that they are losing their love for what they do, and their desire to go back to when they could just do what they loved without worrying about fame and pressure from millions of fans. This is also a random and semi useless insight but a "swan song" is an artist's last performance or work of art before dying or retiring. An old belief is that when swans die they give one last beautiful song of lamentation before their last breath. This concept is thought to have come from the swan being the sacred bird of Apollo, the Greek god of art and music. Given BTS's incorporation of Greek mythology into their MMA performance, this is potentially an intentional commentary on their fear of losing their voices as artist when they begin their service in the military (which is probably going to begin this year) Anyway that's a little dark, but that's kinda the point of the album. Sorry this comment is long and I'm totally rambling. It didn't make a ton of sense but this is my general interpretation I guess. Great reaction by the way!
Abi P. Your observation is so nuanced I love it! It totally makes sense now with this theme. It is sad that this may be their last comeback as 7 members before the military. It’s gonna be tough for a lot of fans :( Thank you for watching my video, I really appreciate it!
If you haven't seen, they are going to perform this live for the first time on January 28th on the Late Late Show with James Corden. I can't wait to see the choreo for this.
I have a different interpretation of the ending. I think the camera pans up to represent flight. I think the choreographer stuck close to Jungian theory. At the beginning, he is trying to fly but his shadow (inner demons) won't let him. He struggles but finally leaves them behind. But he finds that he still can't fly, so he tries to just become "normal" again, but he can't deny his essence. He starts trying to fly again. He finally takes control of the demons, accepting them as a part of himself. Then they help him finally fly. He couldn't fully become himself until he faced and accepted his shadow.
Cielo Jeon very true! That’s why there are some that don’t overcome the obstacles that come with both fame and art. Tbh this record is probably very therapeutic to the boys. And I hope that we fans give back accordingly :) thanks for watching!
In the beginning of the art film, the quote says that a dancer’s first death (before their actual one) is when they stop dancing, and that, out of the two, that one is the more painful one. Black Swan uses the quote and talks about BTS’s fear of losing their passion and drive when it comes to their art, in their case music rather than dance. “If this can no longer resonate, No longer make my heart vibrate, Then this may be how I die my first death” The song does have a bright turn and towards the end they come to the conclusion that music is what makes them who they are. Amazing song, and a great reaction Since their songs stimulate every possible sense, I recommend reacting to the video first and then once more with the subs on. It will prevent the confusion and will make it easier to grasp and understand everything we’re given :)
There are lots of theories running around twitter about this song. For example the connection with Blood, sweat and tears and Fake Love. Also, the similarities with Black Swan movie. Actually, I’m going crazy right now with the whole storyline and how the guys felt in some point of their careers. How can I digest all of this? I feel sad and happy at the same time. This is going to be one or even their best comeback for sure. Great reaction, I love how you paused and commented their wonderful performance. It’s difficult to take it all with the dance and the lyrics. I can relate the struggle xD PD: Their voices in this song are in different layers to make it sound like just one person is singing. It’s like they want to tell us that they are one, they are BTS. I think this is why their album is named 7. Sending love from Peru 💜
Mapi *.* wow! That’s amazing and very thoughtful about the 7 voices! BTS just keeps impressing with their concepts. I agree, this is bound to be their best comeback! And the world ain’t ready lol
Thank you so much for this commentary. You have no idea how many times I have yelled at my iPad “It’s a cage!”. It’s just nice to find someone who sees that also. 😅
I want the dance version music too, the one with lots strings and more accoustic/traditional feeling to it. The things of Dancer's first d3ath is if they have no more passion on dance, or whatever craft they are doing but they still be forced/have to do it, it killing them. Maybe like burnout..like you do a job but slowly you lost interest on your job, and waking up everyday to go to work is harder and harder. I forgot the second d3ath for dancer (and artist) is, but the third d3ath is when people forget about them and their works.
I really like your reactions to BTS ... it doesn't seem rushed or forced.... it's hard to find reactors who are actually genuine when it come to reacting to our guys and i really feel like you are a genuine one .... and I love your personality too and yes I have subscribed even though it took me a while to do it but after watching all of your vids how could I not 💜💜💜💜 and I would love to see you dance 💜💜💜 I really hope to see more videos /reactions from you 💜💜

So they’re discovering them through their videos instead of maybe enjoying them on their own time. Glad you subscribed! I try to do two vids a week :)
Thank you for pointing out subtle and yet powerful dance sequence of this art film! I rewind the video several times just to make sure the dancer is not being stepped on when he rolls away. It reminds me Jimin's powerful move in a run episode. He stepped over an invisible box in the air suspended one leg while moving the other leg forward. That was magical! Please keep up your good work. Would love to see you get deeper into their other dance videos with contemporary dance influence (butterfly, spring day, let go etc).
Oh wait they have dances for Butterfly and Let Go? I didn't know! I shall check those out! And thank you! I remember that Run Episode! with Jimin wearing j-hope's bell hat lol.

I think with your expertise in dance, you'd also enjoy the reaction by the classical musicians group. They were able to break it down form a classical music perspective and even with my limited knowledge in dance, the message in their movements and the intertwining of the musical composition and lyricism was so magical to me. :)
This will be very difficult for us because the guys are revealing their souls to us and not so much earlier ... it’s great. not one artist did this from the very popular ones ... and when it is made with excellent taste and brilliant ideas what could be more beautiful ?! ... I'm proud that I am an army and that I can be part of this amazing art ... thanks BTS ....YOU ARE AMAZING 💜💜💜💜💜👍👍🤗🤗🤗😍
kristina kaminski yes very true! Many artists of their caliber would shy away from revealing their inner feelings about fame. But this is very healthy for the boys. I can only say one thing ... thanks BTS 💜💜💜💜🤗🤗🤗
So I am binge watching your reactions videos tonight, I like to listen to your inputs, it's very knowledgeable. The only thing that disappoints me with black swan is that they did not release the orchestral version of it on spotify 😭
Hi! This is the first time I've watched one of your videos and I feel like I started with exactly the right one. The emotions you showed, especially for the art video version...wow. I can really see your passion for dancing and it seemed like there was something other underlying there too, making you connect on a whole other emotional level. (Might be I'm just projecting of course 😅 feel free to correct me!) It made your reaction one of the most heartfelt I have seen, for me. Thank you for showing that kind of vunerability. I truely appreciate it
Selena Cortez aww thank you so much! I really appreciate that! I’ve always been a creative person and art has been a huge part of my life. That’s why this particular comeback is so exciting for me. I think our vulnerability can really surprise us and I know that genuineness will reach the right people and audience. Glad you found me! :)
Your channel appeared in my recommendations, I saw 2 videos and I subscribed immediately, I'm from Chile and I'm glad you like BTS, you are very nice and cute 💜💜💜💜💜
I hope you saw Map of the Soul: ON:E concert because Jimin did get a special dance break for Black Swan! And it is everything we could have ever wanted - so good!!!
It is really a black swan. But I think the 6 people in black are representing their shadow that it is hunting them now and they can't take it off them. It will be always with them. Kill me now. They mean their shadow. Film it now. Their unconscious hunger for the stage. They are suffering because no matter hard they do, it'll come back. Like how their passion for music is getting dull, even if they add more plays to make it exciting.
its so cool how you interprate the last part just like RM on their reaction videos where 'the swan it actually going to escape but cannot' while most of the reactor and ARMY including me thought that 'finally the swan is free' sorry for my poor english but yeah
_nxdh _ your English is great! We should all know by now that if BTS did something like this, there ain’t never a happy ending. Just questions lol. But I love that I’m on the same wavelength as mr Kim Namjoon *bows*
I can see you have jimin aura, you explains thing so smoothly and elaborate in a soft way and unexpectedly i understood that ahaha. I love you. I love your style
this is so late but the way i see it, i don't think that the person is trapped at all at the end. after the,,fighting? sequence, they all seem to be working together in a way, helping the person to fly. to me this video symbolizes someone trying to get away from the darker parts of themselves, and then learning to work with it instead of trying to fight it.
WINGS, & now MOTS7, are part of the Bangtan Universe (BU) that runs throughout +75% of what BTS does, that's why you're recognizing certain things 🙂 I too felt "Lie" & "BS&T" vibes from the video but "Fake Love" from studio version. Love Yourself: Tear (LYT) is BU too 😋 I interpret the end as one learns to live with the good, the bad & control the balance. The dance very much reflects the lyrics - the beginning was sad, heartbreaking & the end was more liberating, hopeful. You should read & watch the video a few more times... it's painfully beautiful everytime, especially for those that love the arts 🤧 BTS always has different genres on their albums, so this emo rap/ trap/ pop track isn't too much of a surprise for me. It just takes away a tiny bit of the "wow"/ mystery that we had before with CBs, but peaks my curiosity of the number of songs we'll get! 😄 I hope the art film version is released at some point!! 🤞🏽 Oh! Also, I feel like the choreo could be a blend of Fake Love & Spring Day... powerful, emotional but soft as well
Salvachick omg a blend of BST and Fake Love for the choreography would be amazing!! I definitely watched the MV several more times as I loved it so much, but gotta film and upload the genuine first look and impression :) thank you for watching!
In this song BTS's voices are bit more robotic and less distinguishable cause here they are trying to say is that one's passion becoming manipulated to the point where in it is difficult to identify, difficult to say it's the same as the individualistic expressive experience it once was And in this MV the swan wants to fly but the shadows held him down, they even caged him to stop from flying but in the end those black shadows became the reasons and way for him to be able to fly high..... the message really do fits BTS career😭 (these are not my words) By the way BTS are going to perform 'Black Swan' at 'The late late show with James Corden'✌🔥
ASWANA BABU glad I was right about the cage! Haha! Can’t wait for their live performance! James Corden is an odd choice for a premiere comeback stage but James has been amazing to the boys so I can’t even be mad about it lol
Heyy j found ur channel n I rlly liked ur reaction💜 I can already see u being more known. N u seem rlly sweet n funny, keep up the good work lmao. Btw... Who's ur bias?😂
I think that it is about partly fame, but also about integrating your shadows and fears into your own self. Did you hear about the art projects BTS organised all over the world? (Berlin, London, Bueno sich aires, Seoul) they tried to make art accessible for everyone
I was waiting for your reaction 💜. Im really bad at this things ,but in the last part of the choreography, it seems that the guy was controlling the black ones, was controlling the pressure, the fame, his shadow.
Just remember that this is the first single, but not the lead single which will be released next month. I think the lead single and video will rock! I’m hoping for a more Dionysus/high energy song as well.
Jeff Avenue This is definately not the lead single. Here’s a link to the comeback map with dates. We’re really getting spoiled because we’re also getting another comeback trailer for Ego as well. ameblo.jp/cpj-hime/entry-12565701404.html
I've just found your channel and i'm curious to know if you've ever watch any other kpop artist? I know you're a fan of BTS and that there are still some performances you haven't seen (because obviously you have a life and obviously because they have way too much to watch x)). But it would be interesting to see you analyzing other kpop artist/performances as BTS have their own colour, it would be cool to see you discover other 'formula/colour' in kpop. Just wondering of course, not forcing you. BTW i really like your videos! And this song is amazing, like i used to dance when i was little but i stopped because i didn't feel like it was my thing (i did traditional dance because my mom thought it would be great to have a bond with my culture, so it wasn't really my initiative to do this kind of dance). And it felt great to stop for some time but now i feel like i not good for anything and i want to dance again but i lost a lot of my abilities with the years so it's even more frustrating now. So it was weird for this song to resonate with me somehow as i've never really realised what i've lost.
Vairani Harapoi honestly, I don’t dance as much anymore either as I’m focused on film/tv dancing (but the skills and passion never left). I would suggest taking up classes again. Even if it’s just beginner. Take it slow and then move from there :) I’ve checked out some other kpop groups! Huge fan of X1! I watched produce x 101 religiously. SO MAD they’re disbanding. But I look forward to reacting to their other works in the future. Also a fan of Kai (Exo) and Lucas. Mainly for their dancing abilities. I take it slow with getting to know other kpop groups as I’m quite picky. But I’m not opposed to reacting to other groups down the road :)
Jungkook - (I believe) did the back up vocals & ad libs, I thank you for pausing when talking. I don't know how long you have been reacting to Bts, But there music is, well for me I thank god their are ppl to dicipher there mv/ songs BC there is so much to understand. This why I love these boy's, for all their passion for the music.
@@JeffAvenue well thank you Jeff I think you are doing a very good job.I just forgot to put in my last message that I am from Canada Ontario and quite a bit older than you, I've only known of BTS under a year, and I am going to try very hard to get tickets. Anyways thank you for your reaction. Good luck on getting tickets.
Hi from the UK Sharon & Jeff (love your reaction btw & have subscribed - looking forward to more! :) ) The Grammys were on their schedule that BH released back in the Autumn. When they weren't nominated, I thought maybe it had just been pencilled in just in case, but looking like they might still be going -they've been in LA already this week rehearsing & then iHeart Radio announced they'd be doing an interview the day after the Grammys, and as one comment I read said, it's an awfully long way to go just for one interview! Then came the news that they would be premiering Black Swan on James Corden on 28th, so it's looking more likely. Which leaves the question - if they are doing the Grammys, what will they be doing?! My thought was that as it's been a dream of theirs, they'd want to do a "Wow" performance & really show what they can do, so as it's the end of Persona phase & start of 7, maybe they'd do Dionysus one last time? I don't think they've done it at any awards shows outside of Asia, though it does need the backing dancers to help with moving the props and would they fly them all out to LA too? I would LOVE to see them do a blistering performance of that, as a bit of a response too to not being nominated! Hopefully if the rest of 7 is as brilliant as the 2 songs we've got so far, then things might be different this time next year!! :D Btw Jeff, have you seen their full 37 min performance at the MMAs in Nov? Would love to see you do a reaction to that if you haven't- it was totally epic!! Jimin's solo dance was perfection!
BTS was unaware of the dance company until 2 hours before its release and were quite amazed by the dancing and instrumentation. The logical sequitur was to tease Jimin, can you do this? Their choreography now has been challenged and it may have to be modified due to the artistry you and they just watched according to RM. They are supposed to perform it on James Corden I think January 28th.
ERIC WEINMAN ya I saw their reaction video lol it was funny. I think suga was surprised the choreography was different and he asked RM if it was changing. And RM said no. So I think they have a set choreo already that ain’t changing.
You are so wrong. Read the lyrics again and again. They talk about finding their passion again and you must become one with your shadow because its apart of you. There has to be acceptance of your fears plus this has alot to do with mythology and cosmo. Do some research now that you've seen it.
Luisa Bradley Hi Luisa! Thanks for watching this video :) Yes, my knowledge of the actual meaning of the song have expanded quite a bit since this reaction. But as this is a first view/listen video, of course I would get things wrong and right. A couple of people did mention that some of my assessment here is quite on par with RM’s view during their own reaction video. I’ll take that more so than any ARMY’s opinion of the song as it comes directly from the source. Unfortunately, I cannot read the lyrics again and again while recording just to get the right assessment of the song. There are other videos for a dissection like that. Nonetheless, thanks for the view count :)
What you said at the beginning about wanting jimin to perform this is the same thing suga said at the reaction video 😂😂👌🏻
I HAVE NO JAM I know right?! saw that earlier. Was so glad they all thought about jimin with this dance!
And Suga even ask Jimin if he can perform with no shirt on..& Jimin answer right away yes he can.😜😝🤗

@@JeffAvenue I agree👍 ... I understand this very well😉 ... I'm glad that thanks to them I understood a lot of my life 🤗... they made me see behind the scenes not only their life but mine ... they give their music and example to life .To hear more about life and what we should be ... they teach us to know the most secret corners of our subconscious minds .... and this way helps us to be better .... I can only say one thing ... thanks BTS 💜💜💜💜🤗🤗🤗
We need more reactions from you! :)
mcloverboy09 aw thank you! More will come! :)
@@JeffAvenue Glad I found you too 😊 I'll be looking forward to coming reactions!
By the way, I enjoy your reactions...even when you think it’s a “bad” reaction. You do you! ☺️
Meei Yoongi thank you so much! Much appreciated!
Your channel appeared in my recommendations, I saw 2 videos and I subscribed immediately, I'm from Chile and I'm glad you like BTS, you are very nice and cute 💜💜💜💜💜
natalia contreras whoaaa Chile?? We reaching that far? Nice! Thank you so much!
@@JeffAvenue Yes, from a small town, I have a feeling that your channel will soon start to grow like foam, your videos are very entertaining 🤞👍💜💜
#SB19 GENTO PLSS🫶😍
I hope you saw Map of the Soul: ON:E concert because Jimin did get a special dance break for Black Swan! And it is everything we could have ever wanted - so good!!!
😍😍❤️❤️👍👍❗️❗️love the way u described lol ..... 💋💋
I think I have found my favourite youtuber 😊👍
It is really a black swan. But I think the 6 people in black are representing their shadow that it is hunting them now and they can't take it off them. It will be always with them. Kill me now. They mean their shadow. Film it now. Their unconscious hunger for the stage. They are suffering because no matter hard they do, it'll come back. Like how their passion for music is getting dull, even if they add more plays to make it exciting.
Ophichius Lowis Gujilde oOoo great observation thank you! I learn more everyday about this song!
Jeff react in a very soft way. Even admiration to jimin and members also so soft. Its like looking at the embodiment of bwl ahaha
COME ON ARMYS GO STREAM BLACK SWAN OFFICIAL MV!!!!! LETS BREAK OUR PREVIOUS RECORD!!!!
To be able to understand the whole song i recommend bookish theories. It clears everything.
Jimin hermoso bailarín.😍🐰🐰😅🤩🐣🌹😊💕
Love your reactions I was waiting for your reaction 💜💜💜💜
mina army aw thank you! Almost didn’t have time until next week. Had to squeeze it in!
its so cool how you interprate the last part just like RM on their reaction videos where 'the swan it actually going to escape but cannot' while most of the reactor and ARMY including me thought that 'finally the swan is free'
sorry for my poor english but yeah
_nxdh _ your English is great! We should all know by now that if BTS did something like this, there ain’t never a happy ending. Just questions lol. But I love that I’m on the same wavelength as mr Kim Namjoon *bows*
@@JeffAvenue hehe😁
I can see you have jimin aura, you explains thing so smoothly and elaborate in a soft way and unexpectedly i understood that ahaha. I love you. I love your style
haha aw thank you! such a compliment!
I had to come back to this video at tell you that Jimin did perform this at ON:E 😭 it was stunning. You got your wish 💜
this is so late but the way i see it, i don't think that the person is trapped at all at the end. after the,,fighting? sequence, they all seem to be working together in a way, helping the person to fly. to me this video symbolizes someone trying to get away from the darker parts of themselves, and then learning to work with it instead of trying to fight it.
WINGS, & now MOTS7, are part of the Bangtan Universe (BU) that runs throughout +75% of what BTS does, that's why you're recognizing certain things 🙂 I too felt "Lie" & "BS&T" vibes from the video but "Fake Love" from studio version. Love Yourself: Tear (LYT) is BU too 😋
I interpret the end as one learns to live with the good, the bad & control the balance. The dance very much reflects the lyrics - the beginning was sad, heartbreaking & the end was more liberating, hopeful. You should read & watch the video a few more times... it's painfully beautiful everytime, especially for those that love the arts 🤧
BTS always has different genres on their albums, so this emo rap/ trap/ pop track isn't too much of a surprise for me. It just takes away a tiny bit of the "wow"/ mystery that we had before with CBs, but peaks my curiosity of the number of songs we'll get! 😄 I hope the art film version is released at some point!! 🤞🏽
Oh!
In this song BTS's voices are bit more robotic and less distinguishable cause here they are trying to say is that one's passion becoming manipulated to the point where in it is difficult to identify, difficult to say it's the same as the individualistic expressive experience it once was
And in this MV the swan wants to fly but the shadows held him down, they even caged him to stop from flying but in the end those black shadows became the reasons and way for him to be able to fly high..... the message really do fits BTS career😭 (these are not my words)
By the way BTS are going to perform 'Black Swan' at 'The late late show with James Corden'✌🔥
ASWANA BABU glad I was right about the cage! Haha! Can’t wait for their live performance! James Corden is an odd choice for a premiere comeback stage but James has been amazing to the boys so I can’t even be mad about it lol
BTS already left for LA today and they also performing at iHeart radio live show... I am hoping to see them at the Grammys
Heyy j found ur channel n I rlly liked ur reaction💜 I can already see u being more known. N u seem rlly sweet n funny, keep up the good work lmao.
Btw... Who's ur bias?😂
Afghan Potato aw thank you so much! That’s really sweet of you! And jimin is my ult :)
@@JeffAvenue haha ur welcome! Ahh Jimin is my bias wrecker n jungkook's my biasss

I think that it is about partly fame, but also about integrating your shadows and fears into your own self.
Did you hear about the art projects BTS organised all over the world? (Berlin, London, Bueno sich aires, Seoul) they tried to make art accessible for everyone
That’s BTS connect right? BTS always gives back! :) so proud of them!
You’re channel is growing sooooooo fast(btw I’m you’re sisters friend)
Dangaming612 2.0 wait I have 2 sisters - which one lol. And yess! So surprised too! Thanks for watching!
Nicole
Dangaming612 2.0 oh yes! Haha 👍🏽
I was waiting for your reaction 💜.
Im really bad at this things ,but in the last part of the choreography, it seems that the guy was controlling the black ones, was controlling the pressure, the fame, his shadow.
paola quesada perez oOoo good observation! And thanks for waiting for my reaction haha :)
🎶🔥
Ace Hardy thanks for watching!
Just remember that this is the first single, but not the lead single which will be released next month. I think the lead single and video will rock! I’m hoping for a more Dionysus/high energy song as well.
Jill Goth whaaaat? I’m confused. A first single is usually the lead. But I guess my question which one are they going to promote to radio??
Jeff Avenue It might be both the lead and this song. Dunno anything anymore, I am so confused with the theories already 😭
Jeff Avenue This is definately not the lead single. Here’s a link to the comeback map with dates. We’re really getting spoiled because we’re also getting another comeback trailer for Ego as well. ameblo.jp/cpj-hime/entry-12565701404.html
FYI, BTS said they do have choreo for this song but it will be different.
Betty Tang-Ng I heard! I’m so excited!!
Actually bts is going to perform black swan at late late show james corden i think☺️ on January 28
Hey co-army's correct me if I'm wrong
taelyn kim just heard! Yes you’re correct!
Take it slow and then move from there :)
I’ve checked out some other kpop groups!
Hi Jeff avenue I like your reaction.hoping for more reaction about bts...I have a question are you a Filipino?
Lyn Parena thank you! More to come and yes! A Filipino :)
@@JeffAvenue wow I'm so proud your an army too.waiting for more reaction from you kababayan...
mga kababayan!
Jungkook - (I believe) did the back up vocals & ad libs, I thank you for pausing when talking. I don't know how long you have been reacting to Bts, But there music is, well for me I thank god their are ppl to dicipher there mv/ songs BC there is so much to understand. This why I love these boy's, for all their passion for the music.
crystal picard just started doing these 3 weeks ago :) always wanting to improve!
Good luck on getting tickets.
crystal picard oh heeeey! Best of luck on the tickets!
@@JeffAvenue you too
Did i hear you right? "At the grammies?"
Sharon Priebe yes definitely hoping they do Grammys!
I did see today a post today saying they would be performing at grammy's but it wasn't from bighit.
Sorry I just had to say it.... You look like Ryan Higa 😊
ABI LOL I’ve gotten Henry Golding and Park Bogum in the last week too 😂 Thank you though, Ryan is a beautiful man 👍🏽
BTS was unaware of the dance company until 2 hours before its release and were quite amazed by the dancing and instrumentation.
