Independence Day Resurgence wasn't needed. The first one had a perfect ending.
There’s a lot of Disney movie franchises that should’ve stopped, from Toy Story to Monsters Inc, and I don’t even know where The Incredibles are going with a 3rd movie.
The Star Wars saga ended with Return of the Jedi, the Sequel Trilogy never happened and Aliens is the true ending to the Alien series.
Star wars will never end, it Will continue and anyone disagree stop complaining, that won’t help.
@@mattiasolsson1523 who’s complaining?!
All we’re saying is that the legacy has been tainted by corruption & greed. Sounds like you’re the one who’s Whining.
Andy Giving His Toys To Bonnie Was The Perfect Ending For The Toy Story Franchise
👍
Ugh this should have been top three. Toy Story 4 was terrible and borderline ruins the other 3.
Andy keeping his toys would've been a perfect ending
Agreed.
@@criminalmindsgirl2936 or Andy passing down the toys to his kids would’ve been perfect
Honorable mentions:
Walking to the ranch - Rambo (2008)
Fortunate son - Live Free or Die Hard
Three more days - Jeepers Creepers 2
The dance - Avengers Endgame
Die Hard 4 was stupid.
They should’ve ended it at With a Vengeance.
Jeepers Creepers 3 should’ve happened with the continuation after the 2nd one, but left us very disappointed.
@@l-wolverine2211
Die Hard 4 was pretty good. Better than 3 because Samuel L Jackson’s character almost ruined the movie.
How about Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi? We didn’t need Disney’s involvement to destroy the franchise while bringing back Emperor Palatine.
@@albertosaurschannel6946 That’s beside the point. The whole plot of Hans Gruber’s brother exacting revenge for DH3 was more than enough to have closure for the franchise. DH4 was just a random movie that was more involved with his own family, which didn’t make a whole lotta sense. Even critics felt that it should’ve stopped after the 3rd one.
@@l-wolverine2211 The alternate ending of Die Hard With a Vengeance has John say he's going to spend Christmas with his kids, so if the third was gonna be the last, even if John didn't get back with Holly, make it a point that he' at least has a good relationship with his kids.
@@camgold2154 If that was the case, then the last Die Hard Movie should’ve had a similar plot to Taken 3, where the Stepdad murders the Ex-Wife, and McClaine gets revenge, instead of what we got for DH 4 & 5.
Avengers: Endgame was the definitive ending to the MCU. After 11 years and 22 films, the creators accomplished their goal about telling the story of the Infinity Stones and the narrative leading to the showdown with Thanos. Every film and show that followed afterwards was unnecessary and the franchise has nothing left to prove. Not to mention that Stan Lee appeared in all the films and ironically Endgame was his final appearance before his passing. Was it a coincidence? I feel not!!!
Welcome to SHILLMojo!
The Matrix should have ended with the first movie. Reloaded and Revelations were "okay" but not anywhere near the same level as the original. And we don't talk about Resurrections...
I mostly disagree, The Matrix Reloaded had some amazing scenes, both Reloaded and Revolutions did well with the story. I do agree that The Matrix Resurrections shouldn't have been made. Not even the director cared how it went.
Yep. The Matrix has a perfect ending. Ironically the franchise turned into its own simulation and tried repeated all the story beats from the first movie over and over. You can only catch lightning once.
Completely agree. I think if the best bits of the sequels were combined and the story tweaked, a single sequel could have worked rather than 2 films with A LOT of filler and some good bits. As it stands, I just watch the first film and ignore the rest.
I liked Reloaded better but the last movie kind of sucked.
Reloaded-overrated, Revelations-underrated! What is this Resurrections you speak of, never heard of it!
The Fast and the Furious franchise wasn’t the same without Paul Walker as Brian, the very last scene in Furious 7 is perfect to end the movie saga so it dosen’t decrease the quality later on.
Fast Five was a better ending but Fast 7 was a nice ending and send off to Paul and the franchise.
@@Dee-no3sn
"Fast and Furious" never have been a saga.
For me, it should have ended in the first film.
Fast and Furious should’ve ended after Furious 7. Even though I love the movies after it, 7 was just a very perfect way to end it
Should have ended at 5, that was the perfect ending
No it should have ended either on the 1st movie or the fifth movie after that it just got crazyer and crazyer with the plot from catching Lenny midair a crashing through three building windows,a submarine chase, launching into space a super soldier, not to mention people that we thought were dead were still alive. You should have gone with any other movie series should have done.,less is more.
When 7 ending. It was done for me
Even though I really like 6, 7 is still a good ending for the series for me, even with the camping
I agree, the seventh film is my favorite and later installment hasn’t reach the same level.
Scary Movie should have ended after the Wayans lost the rights to the series.
I agree about that one too.
Agree
Andy giving away his toys in Toy Story 3
That was the perfect ending to Toy Story
Or the ending of Toy Story 2… don’t think 3 was necessary
I thought the same thing but I didn't think toy story 4 was that bad
@@EricWood-tm3oqIt depends on how other people look at it.
If you knew how Andy's father supposedly got Woody you kinda feel stung by Andy's decision there too
Toy Story 3 and Avengers: Endgame are some good examples.
👍
Star Wars should’ve ended with Return of the Jedi. By that I mean the new trilogy should’ve never happened. Outside of Daisy Ridley, it was awful.
Cry baby, check the critics.
@@mattiasolsson1523 the critics just shill for anything Disney
I'd include Rogue One.
Watch Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, Andor, The Mandalorian, and Star Wars the Bad Batch, And Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, and star wars visions, then judge for yourself after that!
Lots of the outside media is good. But yeah, the sequels were a real kick in the cojones. I still watch it all as if those are not canon.
Honorable Mentions;
- Jurassic Park; Should’ve stopped after The Lost World.
- Transformers; Don’t know where they were going after the Revenge of the Fallen.
- Jaws; Should’ve just left it alone after the 1st Movie.
- Saw; After the 3rd Movie, it started to spiral out of control.
- Home Alone; Why mess with a classic after the first movie?!
- Die Hard; After the 3rd movie, it got Soft.
- Harry Potter; the prequels & sequels after Deathly Hollows marred the Wizard
- Ghostbusters; I question the thought process after the 1st movie.
- Spider-Man; What were they thinking of rebooting the franchise after the 3rd movie?!
- The Matrix; What’s the point in trying to continue after Revolutions?!
Ice Age franchise should have ended with Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Agree with everything except Die hard, it should have stopped with number 4 and Transformers was only good once
Transformers I would say stay it at one or atleast including dark of the moon, after that everything is sht (well bumblebee is good tho)
@@BraisFernandez-z9cShame Bumblebee wasn't longer. The ship takes off after all that G1 goodness and the credits start rolling. Beautiful 10 minutes of a movie.
What about star wars
You forgot the one where Star Wars should've ended after Return of the Jedi.
I still liked the sequels
It didn’t have to end there, just should have been handled better
This guy on TH-cam did an "anti-cheese" edition where he cut out all the cringe from the prequels (you can't get it anymore, but I ripped it when it was up).
I swear, it's every bit as good as the originals. Yes, Jar-Jar is still in it. He's not annoying at all and is useful. You have to see it to believe it.
Also the MCU should have ended with Endgame.
@@matthewdsouza1797 Nah they still have steam and more stories to tell. If they run out, then it will end
Sadly because these franchises and more all blew up the box office numbers and made executives a lot of money.... they kept making sequels and spinoffs until something comes along that's so bad they have to leave it dormant for a number of years. Until someone else picks up the rights in the bargain bin and revives it. Such is the cycle of Hollywood.
True
I thought scream was over after the fourth movie no a fifth and sixth came and a seventh movie is coming hopefully this is the last scream movie
Hopefully
The Terminator franchise should have either ended with Terminator 2 or certainly Terminator 3 (when Skynet takes over).
Or it could have ended with Salvation
Should Of ended at 2
Salvation was boring and too serious. I agree T2 would have been a perfect ending but T3 brought everything full circle.
True
2. 3 was terrible
What about “Return of the Jedi”? It wrapped up the saga perfectly until the sequel trilogy ruined it
agreed even the prequels were better
Nothing but the truth. The original trilogy are the only good Star Wars movies. I don't want to talk about 7,8,and 9. Sad
@@demondsims5411 what about the prequels
@ahmedmaklad6527 The prequels are better than the sequel trilogy. How do you get all the living OG characters back for sequels and not have them all in scenes together?!?!?! Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca, R2 and C3P0 don't even go on one last adventure together to save the galaxy?!?!?! That whole sequel trilogy was a waste of peoples time and money. I was so disappointed how they got all the actors back and everybody didn't have scenes together. Imagine if Chris Evans and RDJ came back to play their iconic characters in the MCU in Secret Wars and they never interact with each other in the movie?! It would suck.
I agree
Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade should've been the final movie. Riding off into the sunset wrapped up The Trilogy Perfectly.
My family is right there with you.
Just to repeat what I say in my own comment: It's not just that Indy rode off into the sunset. It's that he sought, and found, THE HOLY GRAIL. By definition, THERE'S NOTHING LEFT FOR HIM TO LOOK FOR -- nothing big, anyway.
Agreed.
The endings of:
Kung Fu Panda 3,
Toy Story 3,
How To Train Your Dragon 3,
Star Wars Episode 6 (the prequels were fine & made sense for them to be made),
Jaws (it didn't need any sequels),
Harry Potter & The Deathly Hollows Part 2 (the prequels here didn't need to exist),
How To Train Your Dragon ended with the third
@@ahmedmaklad6527 I know, but there's a sequel show & I heard rumours that they may make a fourth film.
@@YourBestBudFlowey Folks, if you hate the sequels your current favorite franchises have forced on you, just stop to consider the Jaws franchise. Things can get much, much worse.
Prequel apologists are crazy.
Thank u for not hating the SW prequels. Found Harry Potter to be a little overrated
For Me:
Return Of The Jedi when the galaxy celebrated the defeat of the empire
Avengers Endgame when Tony died and Cap gave his shield to Sam
Terminator 2 when the T-800 sacrificed himself
LOGAN when Wolverine died at piece finally
RAMBO 4 when Rambo finally returned home after 20 years
ALIENS when Ridley and Newt prepared to head back to Earth
Elm Street 3 when Nancy died defeating Freddy
Jason lives when Jason was trapped under the lake
Furious 7 when Brian and Don have one last race
POTC At Worlds End when Jack sets off for the fountain of youth
Live Free Or Die Hard when John shots himself in the soldier to kill the bad guy and save his daughter
Halloween II when Loomis killed Michael
MI FALLOUT when Ethan and Julia part ways with each other
Ghostbusters Afterlife when Egon bid farewell in spirit with his friends and family
Matrix Revolutions when neo sacrificed himself to bring piece between humans and machines (yeah that will piss people off)
ICE AGE 3 when manny finally had a new wife and daughter and finally came at piece with his last family’s deaths
Kingdom Of Crystal Skull when Indy and Marion got married

Halloween H2O should have been the end. She literally cuts Michael's head off. It was Michael
Halloween (2018) was sick though, and Halloween kills was entertaining as hell, even with its issues, it was Halloween ends that was horrible
I agree
@@joshuawoodbridge6267 unfortunately has the 2 Rob Zombie films in between
Very true
In hindsight, I think Mutt should have been the protagonist in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, with Indy only appearing out of retirement to help him fend off the Soviet army and save his mother, thereby completing the passing of the torch from one generation to the next. That's what happened with James Bond in No Time to Die. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull takes place 45 years after Indy's first adventure from the opening act of Last Crusade, which should have brought his journey full circle as he passes his fedora to Mutt in a similar way that Indy received it from the bandit who respected him all those years ago. But no, he grabs it from Mutt (I know thry're father and son, but I'll still refer to HJ3 as Mutt) just as he was about to try it on at Indy and Marion's official wedding ceremony. And Dial of Destiny probably shouldn't have happened, but that's what happens when Hollywood isn't ready to move on from "the good ol' days" and only sees movies as a money-making scheme.
No. Shia labeouf was awful and by far the worst part of Crystal Skull
Mutt died in Dial of Destiny.
@@joshdelagarza231to me he just felt very out of place. I didn’t like or hate his character, he was just… there.

The Bayverse Transformers should have ended with Dark of the Moon. AoE and Last Knight were SO bad.
So true. Though would you allow Bumblebee as an exception.
Bay ruined TMNT
Please no follow-up to the Back to the Future, *please* no follow up to the Back to the Future.

Star Wars should have ended with Ewok Celebration/Finale at the end of Return of the Jedi

I’m going to do you one better and say it should have ended with the “Yub Nub” song and Sebastian Shaw as the ghost of Anakin _before_ the Special Edition came out.
On that logic there wouldn’t be the prequels

T2 Judgement Day's Ending was Perfect that Thumbs up into the molten metal was Iconic. Then we got reboot, after Retcon, after Reboot.
The Last Crusade should've been the last Indy. It was the perfect sendoff to the character. Three good movies was enough.
Dominic’s son should have been named Paul. And then the franchise would have ended properly.
Please don’t kill me when I say this, but I think the Shrek franchise should’ve ended with Shrek 2; excluding Puss in Boots The Last Wish.
Shrek 3 was disappointing.
I was ok with Shrek 1, and no sequels at all.
@@dreamguardian8320 Shrek 2 was even better.
You didn’t mention the Jurassic Park franchise, it never should have been a franchise after the first movie.
Correction: POTC franchise should have ended after Jack closed his compass while singing “Drink up, me hearties, yo ho!”
Oh and, James Cameron's Avatar should have been the last for that franchise. The Way of Water felt rehashed, like I was seeing nothing new; Sigourney Weaver playing her own daughter and the military villain being back were just plain weird. Another one that should have ended was with the first Black Panther film. We'd lost Chadwick Boseman, and the thing with his daughter in the sequel just felt way too far off field.
I think Despicable Me 3 should have been the last movie in its franchise
The stroyline of ZSJL was supposed to built up to and end with Darkseid's defeat.
Disney will never understand this look at all these endless sequals and remakes they’re doing because of no more original ideas
It’s “Sequels.” Not “Sequals.”
Disney should have done "The John Carter Trilogy" instead of just one movie in 2012. There are lots of written material by Edgar Rice Burroughs for sequels, and I mean his Martian novels, not Tarzan.
@@lucone2937 I dont know why that movie did badly. It was an original idea but maybe it was too weird for some people.
Actually, there are plenty of original ideas, and existing IPs to adapt out there; studios are just not taking them ‘cause they’re stooopid
@@_davidboxing They dont want to take a chance on something that might NOT pull in EVERYONE forgetting that some movies are NICHE for a reason and will always have their hardcore fans. So they design films to the common denominator, loud, flashy, nudity, explosions and a semi diverse cast to tick boxes, forgetting important things you know like actual CHARACTERS, PLOT, etc.
Not that these franchises should have ended rather they should be more thoughtful in extending them farther. Fans always want to see new installments of their beloved franchises.
No
Star wars, the final celebration on endor. (Prequels are fine I mean chronologically that should've been the end). And the MCU with caps final dance with Peggy.

My favorite sequels ever that should have ended the franchise are Godfather Part 2, Aliens, T2 Judgment Day, Bourne Ultimatum, Last Crusade, Furious 7, Avengers Endgame, Toy Story 3, and Return of the Jedi.
“So long, partner.” From Toy Story 3. The shorts weren’t bad but they shouldn’t have made a 4th

Toy Story 3 when Andy gave his toys to Bonnie. The ending to the Avengers Endgame. The ending to Ghostbusters (1984). Pierce Brosnan for me.
@@lucone2937 nah that one is actually debatable although you have your opinion
They really should have.
- Star Wars should have ended chronologically with the heroes celebrating on Endor. Release date-wise, it should have ended with Owen & Beru Lars holding Luke & looking out at the binary sunset.
- Beverly Hills Cop should have ended after Axel stops & gives Rosewood & Taggart that charming, mischievous grin when the owners of the house he "rented" showed up.
- Admittedly.... The MCU could have ended at Steve & Peggy in the 40s dancing to that song, then leading us to the original 6 Avengers signing off.
- Rambo should have ended with John Rambo returning to his family ranch in Arizona after being in Burma.
- Rocky could have ended with his raising the American flag above his head. Should have ended with him & Apollo trading friendly blows. A solid ending with him telling Adrian "We did it" at her gravesite & walking away. Yet another ending when he visited Robert Jr. & met his grandson Logan.
Toy Story 3 IS the perfect ending...

The EXACT Moments Animated Cartoon Show Franchises Should Have Ended
Hopefully, this idea can work somehow, and if not, I understand. I just thought it could be a good idea.
Alliance Celebration (Return of the Jedi) and Birth of the New Hope (Revenge of the Sith) = Star Wars film franchise, the best way to end and respect Star Wars Film series, no more Sequel Trilogy.
You better mean Yub Nub.

Freaking Disney.
Underworld should have stopped at Rise of the Lycans, which at least had the decency to be a prequel.
The problem was that those movies where a product of their time the first 3 had that 2000s edge asthetic that worked perfectly the ones after the first 3 where made after that era they lost their identity they wanted to shift from the 2000s era but it just wasn't going to work
I 100% Agree, Furious 7 Should Have Been The Last Movie,
But The Others NO! Some Franchises Are Just Too Big Or Popular To Just End With 2 Or 3 Films.
Everyone is commenting about Star Wars but what about the Saw franchise? The 7th movie literally has "the final chapter" in its title.
When it comes to the Alien and Terminator movies, it's the same for me: that stop after the second film.
With the Alien movies, yes, I have Prometheus and Alien vs Predator 1, but those are fine for what they are, as they don't really diminish the original 2 movies of their franchise that came before them.
But everything else? Avoid like the plague. Alien 3 literally comes off as just someone's crappy fanfic made into a movie.
As for X-Men, while, yes, Apocalypse isn’t the best follow-up, it is nice how it explains how Storm joined the X-Men, gives us hope for Magneto being able to move forward AND shows us how Jean was able to avoid The Phoenix being the nightmare it was for Mutant kind in The Last Stand.
100% agree it should've ended directly there, though. Asia from the spin-offs like Deadpool, it should NEVER have gone Dark Phoenix as that actually ruins all that was built up by the ending of both Days of Future Past and Apocalypse.
I think Jurassic World should have been the last Jurassic movie. While Fallen Kingdom and Dominion were fine, I think Jurassic World should have been the ending of the franchise
Fallen Kingdom and Dominion are utter garbage and ruined the franchise.

Love the video. One problem was that you credited the scenes from “stranger tides” and “dead men tell no tales” flip flopped 😂
These unnecessary sequels used to bother me so much, but now I'm pretty good at just pretending they don't exist and that my favorite franchises ended when they were supposed to.
Hahaha. 4:39 This scene here is from Dead Man Tell No Tales. Surely, Watchmojo must’ve noticed this by now.
Avengers Endgame was the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Stan Lee giving an onscreen "Afterword". Every TV show and movie that came after, was "Post-Film DLC".
Remember that "One Time"?!
Johnny Depp went on David Letterman?!
And told the story of how is daughter asked him:
"Do you think God has a Maid"?!?
HAHAHA! (cringe! lol)
What? no mention why Star Wars should have ended in 2005 with the episode 3? guess someone is being partial.
I'd say include Rogue One and The Mandalorian.
@@thudthud5423 Rogue One isn't very good though. It doesn't feel like a Star Wars movie (which is one of its problems, not a strength) and the good guys are too ruthless. The story overall is unnecessary, we didn't need to know how the Rebels got the Death Star blueprints; the overall story payoff is forgettable.
@@paulc2335 Rebels are being ruthless? That totally doesn't sound realistic
@@gamerstheater1187 I know how it sounds, but it's true. That movie changed how the Rebels are, making them more gray morals. The rebels are supposed to be the good guys, it's how they were always depicted in the original films.
I also think the Terminator franchise should have ended after 2, but for a different reason that usually isnt brought up. A common issue that all subsequent entries have is, how are the good guys definitively supposed to win and get rid of the AI threat?
After T2 they close the book and make it so Skynet and any chips that could potentially lead to another occurrence are gone. But with each subsequent entries into the franchise, they bring back the Terminators in different ways; either its another program spawning that is equivalent to Skynet, or its some alternate timeline that branched, but still is able to send people back to that point in time. They take care of the threat at hand, but never seem to be able to actually stop them from sending more. No matter what they do in the present, something always happens in the future to keep it going, and they always send threats back in time. And they are never able to go to the future themselves to fight said threat. Theyre pretty much just playing the waiting game the entire franchise after T2 and praying its over.
The X-Men film series made by Fox should have ended with the Last Stand, even if it was a failure in the box office, it would have avoided its really messy timeline.
Agreed
Endgame says it all
RoboCop should have ended with the first film. It was a complete enough story as it was and didn't need sequels (although I'm glad it got them as RoboCop rouge city is great)
Surprised *Endgame* isn’t here
It's a shame that these companies only care about one thing, MONEY 💰 🙄😒😤
I feel the same
The "Planet of the Apes" franchise should have ended with the last scene of the first movie. In my opinion, the entire franchise which includes the early movies which lacked the effort put into the first movie, the TV series which was Network TV at its worse, the cartoon series for kids, the dumbed-down reboot, and the garbage currently coming from Disney, were/are a waste of time. Also, I find the entire franchise to be depressing and too preachy. I don't think I could bring myself to watch any of them more than once.
Agreed
The pirates movies could've stopped after the very first.
I agree, it had the perfect climax. There was a lot about the sequel that made me groan, but especially when Disney made Barbosa come back, because you know Disney.
I agree but whenever a movie becomes a hit they are usually gonna make more.
I really liked Terminator Salvation. I wanted tonsee more on the war rather than time travel
Yes, see how the humans overcame Skynet and then sent Kyle back to start the closed time loop.
Couldn't understand why he told Marcus his father was Kyle Reece, and that Marcus would think that the Kyle Reece he had met is clearly a young person who wouldn't be old enough to father that John Connor who was looking right at him....
I liked the all the purpose built machines in Salvation. That large harvester that fit perfectly over the ship and could launch the moto-terminators. Felt like machines built with machine logic.
I think it should have been the last one
Shrek and Fiona start a family - Shrek the Third (2007),
Welcome to the Ice Age - Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009),
Optimus' closing narration - Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)
Kevin gets the blame (again) - Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992).
You know what I think the problem is? These franchises are too successful. That’s why they never end.
It’s also because they are trying to make money 💵 off of them

True
So people wanted to miss out on the Spider-Men being together, the Guardians getting their proper conclusion, and Deadpool and Wolverine properly being on screen together? We got some great stuff within the MCU since Endgame. People seem to have forgotten.
The DC universe should not have ended on the justice league because the justice league should never have happened. It was fucking terrible.
For some reason you forgot about the biggest franchise ever... MCU franchise... that should end after the Avengers: Endgame movie. Almost every following movies were trash or simply not good enough to be part of the franchise. And I an also surprised that ther were no Star Wars in this list too.
BTW. I totally agree with ending of Aliens and Terminator franchise after the second movie. It should be illegal to go on with the franchise unless the original creator or writer of the first movie agrees.
We actually didn't need any Pirates of the Caribbean movies after Curse of the Black Pearl. They rapidly went downhill after the first. Also, the Fast and Furious franchise jumped the shark in Fast Five, that's when that franchise should have ended; can't take a single movie in this franchise seriously after that one. Other franchises that should have ended earlier: Kung Fu Panda at #2; Thor at Thor: Ragnarok; Deadpool at the first one; Star Wars with 1-6, ending with Return of the Jedi. And yes, not even Rogue One should have been made.
"If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story." - Orson Welles
The Saw franchise should have ended after the 3rd film. Amanda had died for betraying Johns principles but more importantly John Kramer himself was also dead. Yet here we are 7 unnecessary sequels later 💩
Hollywood just doesn’t know how to end a franchise
Too true
Transformers: Dark of The Moon was the perfect ending for the Bayverse trilogy but Paramount wanted more.

They do say “Money is the root of all evil”
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl should never have gotten sequels.
I don’t know how the MCU will end with Phase 6 & The Secret Wars, but I feel it should’ve ended right after Avengers: Endgame. Unless if they’re trying to Reboot the whole franchise, which would kinda make sense.
If the MCU was actually rebooted after Endgame,
Then it would make a lot more sense and be a lot more understandable and acceptable.
I'd say, if Marvel could escape the clutches of Disney, creating an Animated Cinematic Universe would be the way to go. I think it would be easier to incorporate a lot more characters and explore more stories.
The Star Wars movies should've ended with the Prequels in terms of films, but the saga itself should've ended with Return of the Jedi.
Honestly the biggest insult with every Terminator sequel post T2 is that, just by existing, they go against the single truth of the first 2 films. That the future is not set. So the moment you say "Judgement day is inevitable" you may as well say "Howabout I do anyway?"
Let's just hope Dark Fate finally got the message across and this rusted cyborg is left on the scrap heap for good. (Or we get another game like Resistance. Because THAT was the exception)
I think the only movies in the Tremors series should have been Tremors, Tremors 2:Aftershocks, Tremors 3:Back to Perfection and Tremors 4:The Legend Begins
With the Alien Saga, I think it ended the trilogy nicely with Alien 3. Its sends the message that without sacrifice, there can be no victory.
MCU should’ve ended with Endgame. Gonna be hard to beat Thanos and OG Avengers
For The Godfather films, literally the only difference between Michael's situation at the end of the third film compared to the second film is that he dies.
For Halloween, yeah, the 2018 film should've been the end considering how Kills and Ends turns out, especially since the 2018 film seemed to be having Michael as a mortal man but the sequels seem to imply a supernatural element like the cult continuity. I would have preferred it if Kills had the mob of citizens succeed in killing Michael and then Ends focuses entirely on a new killer who takes up Michael's legacy, like say Alyson becoming a killer because of PTSD from the prior two films.
Aliens, I agree should have been the end of Ripley's story and if they were going to kill off Hicks and Newt, at least have them die later on in the film if Alien 3's an immediate sequel instead of right at the start considering they only just lived past the second film's events or at least give them several years of peace as a family with Ripley.
Indiana Jones, whatever flaws the last two movies had, I actually did like them. Though I wish they didn't have Indy and Marion separated, would've been better if she'd died since Crystal Skull.
Furious 7 should have been where the Fast and Furious series ended, following films retconned Han's death and possibly Gisele's if that wasn't her twin in Fast X.
Honorable Mentions:
Child's Play 3
Scream 3
Hellraiser: Bloodline.
Fast and furious was one of the most broken films without paul
"because if a machine, a terminator, can learn the value of human life... maybe we can too."
one of the best endings ever.
I was expecting Star Wars or Toy Story to show up.
Same
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! 11:04 Agreed 100%. "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" (1989) was an amazing movie to watch, and would have been a perfect movie to end the franchise.
Other mentions:
-Transformers Dark of the Moon (for the Michael Bay movie franchise)
-Underworld Rise of the Lycans
-Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ellie's words "Welcome to the Ice Age!" felt like a perfect conclusion)
-Toy Story 3 (I enjoy Toy Story 4 and seeing what happened with Bo Peep and meeting Ducky and Bunny but Toy Story 3 had the perfect ending)
-Home Alone 3 (I actually like the third movie even though it's not as memorable as the first two but the follow ups had strange direction like having Home Alone 4 acting like a sequel to the first two especially in the case of Marv's character)
Also hard agree that Pirates of the Caribbean should have stopped after At World's End.
Fast and furious is about family... that's why it shouldn't ended lmao
It should’ve ended after 7
When three Gaurdians of The Galaxy movies can hammer down the theme of family far better than 10 Fast and Furious movies, something is definitely wrong.
They do a better job in one movie than this entire franchise, the fast movies are hard to watch past the first couple@@pranavathreya9086
