Thank you for your videos. Excellent! I also love mysteries. Not sure why but I love to try and figure things out! Love all your comments.

If you like to try figure things out, PLEASE watch Knives Out. It is a fabulous, fabulous whodunnit-type movie that kept me guessing until the end! I am going to do a video over it soon for a series of movies to watch during the fall/Halloween season, but it's a great watch! The sequel is good too (Knives Out: Glass Onion), but the first one is the best! Thank you again for your support!

I was very happy when they first came out with cozy mysteries. No bad language, no gore and no sex descriptions. However, it didn't take long for the market to be flooded. And worst for me was the romantic turn. Every policeman/detective/next door neighbor is sexy, single and the woman falls for him. I started reading at three and wrote my first mystery in 4th grade. I thrived on Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. I see that they have made a comeback and not only are the originals available but people are writing new updated ones. I guess it didn't take me long to grow out of cozy mysteries and turn to YA mysteries. I'm 78 and find these much better. Thank you for your review and I now know not to put them on my list. I think you did a really good job and, of course, I loved the covers! I am currently watching old mysteries from TV in the UK on TH-cam and they are really good. Many are based on books. Please keep enjoying reading, books will never let you down as you go through life...I guess I should know. (P.S. A talking cat will never let you down and can solve the mystery faster than the handsome policeman and a woman who are off snogging somewhere.)

Amen! I love mysteries because I love the MYSTERY! Perhaps some people enjoy the romance element, but, for me, it is something I tolerate more than I enjoy. While they often don't necessarily ruin the book for me or anything, the romance part is not in any way what makes me keep turning the pages. One series I really wanted to like I don't care for any more because of the romance aspect. I at least appreciate when they include a romance that it comes second to the mystery. I am sure too that since many of these books become movies, the "Hollywood" aspect of a relationship seems necessary, but, to me, it definitely isn't. The mystery books that do include the romantic element are better, at least to me, when that part is minimal, natural, and innocent. There are a few books I like less because the romance overshadows the mystery. This series, at least so far, has a very innocent romantic element, which I appreciate. I love Nancy Drew, but I think what got me started on mysteries was The Boxcar Children. I started those in first grade and read them for years. Thank you so much for your post and for watching the video. Please let me know your recommendations for YA mysteries! Have a blessed day!
