After my first trip up to Herons last week and making a start on my fledgling bonsai career I got more and more inspired by these videos and tutorials. Beautiful Juniper that will go on to be a real work of art. Stunning!
That was a very nice Azalea. They are such beautiful Bonsai. I hope to try my hand at an Azalea but I need to kill a lot of easier plants first. The juniper turned out great and the owner seemed very pleased. Thanks for sharing!
Tin or Tik, that's a pretty radical transformation. I like to let the tree tell me which direction to go. It was already in a windswept configuration, so that's what I would have chosen.
Peter.. you are the master!!... love your work... love your philosophy even more mate... down here in Aus... our trees don't conform to the "normal " bonsai..gotta think outside the square.....keep em coming mate... I'm learning a heap .
Hello, I want to thank you for the videos, especially I enjoy seeing your deliberation in choosing a bonsai tree style, it teaches me about your way of thinking and looking at the different types of trees and thus gives me a lot of knowledge in deciding how to design the trees
Thank you.... 🙏 😔 🙏 Dr. Chan, you place so much information in the shot videos. This one is full of information of all kinds. I would like to know what color the Azalea was originally. The Azalea makes an amazing tree, though it is usually grown as a bush, here. 🙏 🖖 🙏 😔 🙏 🙏 🙏
Wow! Just wow. Amazing azalea. They grow wild here in Virginia. Would love to help nature create something so wonderful. Any tips on how to get so many blooms?
I don't get the people that complain that this tree shouldn't have been cut and that it should have been made into a (semi-) cascade tree because that is how it grew natural. I mean let's be honest, you can grow your bonsai in a more natural way and do more or less with it but it will always be unnatural to the tree. It is just part of the art form and as long as you truly care for it, that is okay. The customer wanted it short and stumpy - which I think was a great choice - and was really happy with it.
Hello it me again I just received a new black pine sapling it is a gorgeous little fella, the only problem I see with it is the trunk is very long and the needles and branches don’t start till about 8 inches up the trunk. My question is how do I train this tree to get it to start producing new branches down on the trunk. Cause if I let it go the way it’s going now it’s going to be very difficult if someone could help give me some ideas and tips that would be appreciated. Could I top the tree or is that not advised for a young sapling I’m new to this so please forgive me for lack of knowledge thank u all in advance. Basically right now the little guy looks like a stick with a cluster of needles at the top.
Hello friend i have a important question if you would be so kind to help. Here is my question I was training my new sapling sequoia tree and while wiring and bending it I noticed a very small crack where I bent it in your opinion do you think it will be ok? I worry a lot and love my bonsai trees and don’t want the little sapling to die anyways if you would be so kind to reply thank you in advance kind regards. Ps I absolutely love your videos and your bonsai trees are stunning!
Lime sulphur liquid is used for colouring and preserving Jins and Sharis but don't put it on straightaway - let the wood dry for a couple of months before applying it.
Another victim of BCD, Bonsai cutting disorder. Ive got a big pot of soil and every time I trim I throw the trimmings in it. I've had to take on an allotment just to put them all in LMaO
Sir i want to buy japnese maple plant and chinese elm seed where can i ? Thouh seeds from amazon not maple i see from review. I am from india plz suggest me
I too was given some Baobab seeds by a South African friend. I grew them for 3 years but then I forgot to protect them from frost and they all died! Grow them indoors and that should be OK unless you live in the Tropics
Good question - I have never tried this but it might work. After all, any rooting medium would work. I tried using wool waste -from sheep farms once, took a long time to root but did not hold moisture well. In India, the nurserymen use mud and that works wonderfully. Why don't. you try and see what happens?
Un gran maestro me gustaría pedirle un favor para todos los españoles que le siguen si no es mucha molestias en traducir en el español seria de un gran ayuda
The main problem for me is the suggested planting angle, but of course the angle hasn't actually been changed yet. The thing I don't get is if John produced that wonderful azalea, why did he need styling advice from Peter?
@@TomTomTomTom538 John has loads of San Jose junipers and he brings them all to me for advice on how to style. We did six junipers the other day. Wait till you see that video which we will put on line one day.
It has only had 20 minutes of work done to it. Give it a couple of years and the pads will mature and the trunk will thicken. Pads are too young to wire flat at this point in time. There is an element of patience involved in bonsai - never forget that.
It's always a better week when Peter releases a new video.
Thank you John for sharing the azalea with us. Absolutely beautiful.
I could watch you create all day long.

Johns last words in this video are the genius of Bonsai. . . Therapy, therapy. Bonsai feeds the soul.
respect to the power and fight of nature to want to keep on living under the most extreme circumstances..
How stunningly beautiful! Oh my goodness it's SO pretty. Wish it was mine for sure!!

My brother Peter your one of a kind and a magnificent teacher
Again always stunned and amazed at your talent

10:10 Peter "Muscles" Chan!!! I love this video - I am doing similar to a Juniper currently, thanks for an archive of knowledge and experience!

That azalea is maybe the most inspiring bonsai I've seen, wow. #oneday
Stunning Azalea.
Another great video Peter! Cheers from LA! 👍👍🌲🌲

If the crack is small then leave the tree alone and it should heal over.
peter chan thank u for the help
What Beautiful tree!
Great video, that azalea is amazing. I dont uderstand how anyone could have such a small mind and be pathetic enough to dislike this video.
In any game - there are TROLLS - no more. said!
Please at the end your videos include a before and after pictures.we watch your show in Guatemala and Thank you
Thank you, this was enlightening 😊
Another outstanding demo, Peter! Do you like to apply any sort of "treatment" on your jin, or do you prefer to allow it to weather naturally?
Lime sulphur liquid is used for colouring and preserving Jins and Sharis but don't put it on straightaway - let the wood dry for a couple of months before applying it.
@@peterchan3100 Thank for the advice...you're willingness to share your lifetime of knowledge is truly remarkable! :)
a great bonsai Master

You are clearly a keen enthusiast - Thats good!

Don't waste your time and money. Maple wont survive in India - maybe in the hill stations where you get snow.
Just a quick quration is it possible to grow a healthy Chinese elm indoors as I am being told otherwise by other bonsai growers
It is possible but keep it in a cool room with lots of light, especially in the winter -- but they are best grown outdoors
Thank for your reply
wowww.. nice boss
None of my juniper cuttings have taken :(. Are there any good resources on how to do it properly in a hot dry climate?
They should take 3months to root if done properly
Never FUCK with the old man 13:31
Hi sir, could you please give us some info about baobab bonsai. I have some baobab seeds and wanna grow them in door.
I too was given some Baobab seeds by a South African friend. I grew them for 3 years but then I forgot to protect them from frost and they all died! Grow them indoors and that should be OK unless you live in the Tropics
I don’t understand why people give thumbs down to these videos
Can you try to air layering using coffee grounds instead of sphagnum peat moss?
It doesn’t sound a good idea to me.
I had good results with both peat and light general purpose potting mix.

Noooooooooo ! I love thus cuting !!!

Cipreste crencer em baixo bonsai .e porque isso corte 🙄😒
Idk how can u call it a train.. lol.. terrifying
???
I think the San Jose Juniper looks worse than it did before perhaps in a few years we will be able to see its transformation.
Yeah, shame to not embrace the natural characteristics of the tree, with a full wiring this could have been a nice slanting design.
I understand John wanted a smaller tree, and once it fills in it will make an acceptable shohin, just not quite as dramatic as I first imagined
The main problem for me is the suggested planting angle, but of course the angle hasn't actually been changed yet. The thing I don't get is if John produced that wonderful azalea, why did he need styling advice from Peter?
