There are multiple opinions, good and bad, about Palworld, but the majority of the discourse I've seen is how fans of the Pokemon games hope this lights a fire under Game Freak, since the recent Pokemon games have been so underwhelming and lazily put put together. It's similar to when a AAA dev said, unironically, they were worried by the meteoric success of Baldur's Gate 3, because it raised the standards for not just RPGs, but games across the industry. This is a positive thing for studios not resting on their laurels, but very bad for those who are... One of those studios being Game Freak, who has been doing just that for the longest time by phoning it in with lucrative, but lackluster results.
The thing is, as much as it's a "Pokemon clone," the reason it's enjoyable is because of how much it plays like Conan: Exiles. The goofy animals are fun, but the gameplay is what keeps you there.
PalWorld really shows the power of 'economies of scale'. That you don't have to price games at $70; you can still make a truckload of money by getting a game into as many consoles/pc as possible with a consumer friendly price//

The thing with the AI claim is that AI tech isn't really advanced enough to do 3D models. So whilst it may have been used in a concepting phase, it did not generate the models that are in game. Seems like you don't know how generative AI works. No image generative AI is capable of making 3D models so far, only 2D images. Only one of their games is outwardly using AI, the AI artist one. If AI is used, maybe they used it to generate 2D images of Pokemon mash ups then had an artist recreate that as a 3D model in the game. But then, it would probably be less work and effort to just have the artist design their own monster for the game. I think it's more likely their artists intentionally made Pals look like various Pokemon, than them using AI. It just doesn't make sense to add an annoying extra step for the artists. AI is also terrible at animation, so their upcoming 2D Hollow Knight inspired game actually has some pretty good artists behind it, creating art that emulates the style of Hollow Knight. They definitely did not use AI for it. Though I looked at the planned features for it, and it sounds more like Maple Story than Hollow Knight to me. Art styles aren't copyrightable, so this game is in the clear. 1- what's the problem with A.I generated stuff??? they are great!
2- nintendo ALREADY checked with palworld and told its CURSED worshipers to STOP!!!!!!
3- if pokemon LOSES its dignity and fame it's because of its CURSED MAD fandom!
if my hero academia's community is made of insane asylum patients, pokemon's fandom is showing their color as insane asylum escapees!
palworld IS GREAT because it gave its players what they wanted to play!
why is that so hard to understand? why do nintenworshpers hate success for anything else but their own franchise?
why are they only attacking palworld and not attacking temtem, yokai watch, digimon, jade coccoon, and AHEM THE GAME THAT EXISTED EVER BEFORE POKEMON shin megami tensie!
if palwrold's success is making their MAD lunatics THIS ANGRY, i'd like to see their reaction if megaten sues pokemon for stealing their DEMONS into pocket monsters!
honestly .... the more hatred palworld gets, the more hatred is given to pokemon... must these brainless lunatics break both sides???? this level of gate keeping is the same as fromsoft's madness and their fandom's lunacy! "get good or go home!" ... sheesh
I can see crying from this comment, lol
@@gondorianslayer4250 i can see you in rope floating before a hole in the ground from this reply.. funny..

Both companies are Japanese and i heard people out there tend to support each other.
Pretty sure data miners can chime in on this.. yes there are assets that are exact copies but have later been edited to protect themselves. The pals aren't different enough to be able to distinguish them from Pokemon (unless you know about Pokemon beforehand) I know how hungry everyone is for an online pokemon MMO that Nintendo has ignored to fulfill. However if someone ripped you off and slightly changed a few things and was taking money out of your pocket you'd be upset too. Just saying these are things to think about. Nintendo will almost definitely put together something and will presumably take this to court given how strict they are with their IPs.
Volvy Club ❤
next Pokemon game that comes out "This game is Palworld Clone"
Lost me when you started crying about AI. Industry moves forward, keep up.
And no proof
Enjoy being replaced
You all gun lovers are weird.
pokemon trying to copyright anubis and a sheep lol
Nintendo players are salty as F***
Something reeks about this game and developer.
BLAME GAMEFREAK FOR NOT MAKING THIS TYPE OF GAME SOONER
Please for the love of god, nintendo aren’t the developers behind Pokémon games, its gamefreak.
All cause it doesn't have guns??? Lol.
I am trying to objectively listen to the conversation, however Lucy James is very easy on the eye.
Pokemon is a clone of many different games just like palworld.
Pokemon is not the original form of this style of game. Also. Every game is a take on previous games.
Who are these people who are jumping the defence of giant corporations, like they need a bunch of internet white knights to save them?🤣
The industry plants are sad. Bro it's a fun game, that's the market. Why are you crying over Nintendo 😂
A bit of a somber ending there guys. Come on. This industry has its awful aspects like most industries, but there’s tons of awesome stuff too. How about some more cat rescued from tree type stories. I know you can do it.
Dont no if its my age but i wudnt play this game if u paid me! Looks ok for kids but its a no from me 💯🎮
Yeah you need actual friends to enjoy it 😂

Nintendo aren’t the developers behind Pokémon games, its gamefreak.
Pokemon having three legal owners: Game Freak, the main developer; Creatures, representing producer Ishihara; and Nintendo, the publisher.
