@KardavoxAcademy I already know how to do that particular sound, but that's because I been really experimenting with crazy vocals for a long time. Self taught btw, I didn't think of watching videos when I got started. That being said, this was probably the best video I have ever seen you make. Being adhd it's hard for me to pay attention even if I'm really interested in something. Please keep doing the impersonations, it helps with the focusing. Much props buddy!
Thats what i love about kardavox and Will Ramos and the other dude wih the black long hairs... You all give names to the weird stuff we all do unconsciously so that others can get a better grip of what's happening/categorize it better. I facepalmed immediately at the Glugg glugg goofy sound because i instinctively use it since the beginng of my journey but never could it put into words what is actually happening... So in this Sense, thank you all very much for your work!
I already knew how to do the final vocal but was very good to understand how its done. I get to a advanced stage of vocals without knowing how to do it and it doesn't made my throat happy lol, so I'm happy with Mark showing us some techniques
I wish I had learned about your band earlier. I follow a lot of vocal channels and they occasionally feature in songs or have their own band but you have awesome harsh vocals and great cleans. I look forward to trying and probably failing this technique. Can't wait to hear more!
recognized you on the thumbnail from The Charismatic Voice, clicked, loved the video, you said your band name and it just clicked ! i already knew you from long ago just didn't have a face to put on those nasty vocals :D Much love !
I need a 10 hour loop of the sound/clip at 2:16 😂😂😂 But for real your advice/channel has had more of a positive impact on my practice than anything else I've ever tried. Can't wait to get home from work and make all these sounds in the shower and once again weird out my roommates
I actually did have a question about growling? How do I project my growl without running out of REALLY quick? I feel like I can get a decent growl going, but I cannot hold it for more than a few seconds. In "The Forsaken Effigy" by Shadow of Intent, Ben Duerr is able to hold that first growl for like 12 seconds or something like that and I have no idea how he does it.
@@ИапГоревич similar but you definitely don't want to do Corey's original voice. He himself hurt himself bad. He likely used almost exclusively his epiglotal and way too much air pressure, so he damaged the insides of his throat if I were to guess.
My favourite super gurgly guttural is probably Tomi Joutsen. When he does it there's something about the quality of the way he produces it that makes it just so absolutely disgustingly filthy. Makes you feel unclean.
@@KardavoxAcademy he's the guy from Amorphis! They're a bit more melodic than what you'd hear these kind of gutturals in, but maybe that just makes the moments he goes low to stand out even more! I hope I'm not getting my techniques mixed up 😭 Edit: suggestions from me are Majestic Beast, Four Wise Ones, or Grain of Sand. I'd also check out their rerecordings from 2010 of older material, called Magic and Mayhem, before he joined as they were more pure melodeath then and he makes more frequent use of his sewer gutturals there. Especially Exile of the Sons of Uisliu
I've rewatched this video multiple times. I have serious issues with low gutterals but can do nasty black metal styled highs. Guessing most of it is probably lack of good air pressure. I just seem to fizzle out and have low power.
came for the facts, stayed for the nom noms btw, I'm still very new to screaming and I have a question to ask. I'm not even sure if I have the right technique or not, but when I try and engage my false folds, it's almost like i can only get a healthy-feeling distortion if I have mucus or spit in my throat. am I correct in thinking that's not normal, and I'm doing it wrong? because it doesn't hurt, but i havent heard anyone who can scream mention that before
You say Dr. Klaw, I say Cookie Monster. Trying to replicate David Bruno from Summoning the Lich. Dude is an absolute monster if you haven’t checked him out yet (I recommend “The Gatekeeper” as a great reference).
Hahah part of the reason I moved to screaming is that I sucked so bad at guitar. I always have a bit of envy for anyone who can play guitar, drums, keys, etc.
Exactly wtf is gabbagoul 😂. And one of the ways Ive practiced my deathcore vocals is working on screaming along to DarkoUS. Made a ton of progress jn about a year
aight so I looked it up and It seems like gabagool is another term for Capocollo, a type of Italian cold cut. Now how Capocollo turned into Gabagool....I have no idea. haha and yeah Darko is pure brain candy for vocal inspiration
@@KardavoxAcademyDarko and Oceans Ate Alaska are what got me into heavier stuff. Darko is so different and cool! And now I know more about Italian meats something I may never use lmao 😂
I think I need your course... all of this is so bad for me. I must have a huge tongue but everything you say is impossible for me but the fry comes easier when I do what you say I shouldnt

Mark whitechapel just drop and the vocals are insane
Holy shit that "glug glug glug" trick works super fucking well!
My brain fused all the different voice actors you did and created something terrifying. Ima definitely add these practices to my routine 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Haha, yeah, it gets goofy, but only because it's naked! Good luck with your vocals!
for years all i needed to know was if vocalists were doing epiglottis for their very low gutterals and something else for mids. now i know.

Thanks for this. I stopped practicing and my gutturals had become shit and this helped me get them back.
Looking forward to using these tips to improve my vocals. Sick Lengsel album cover in the back. Those guys don’t get enough love.
Bro, the fact that you are familiar with Lengsel warms my heart! They're one of my all-time favorite bands! :D

your throat has to get used to it
Also I got a wave of nostalgia at 3:02. That voice and cadence flashed me back to warcraft 2. Sounded exactly like the orc narrator for the campaign

As a lifelong New Jersey resident I can confirm, gabagool is indeed meat. It’s capicola, basically just spicy ham.
As a slang term, when referring to another person, it can also mean something like idiot, moron, stupid lol
Been trying to get arytenoidal type scream for since I started. This is the best video that Mark could have ever put out

If your homies approve of your false chord screams this is do able.(a tip talk in the Dr. Claw voice as much as possible)
