This is FANTASTIC - Shelby put a link to this on her Facebook update - so you should be seeing an uptick in your view stats - I know everybody associates 3 Dog Night with this, but let's all remember that the great great songwriter Hoyt Axton is responsible for this lovely tune....
Great rendition, but I would have preferred a chorus in the beginning instead of 3 guitar solo's, which, by the way, were smoking hot and could have been mixed in a bit hotter as well... overall, I enjoyed it very much and would love to hear it live. It's got a Bonnie/Bekka Bramlett vibe to it...
Of course, it's nice to note that Shelby Lynne is the older sister of Allison Moorer.....this is why they sound so good together. Not on this track....but many others. And yes, it was a big hit for Three Dog Night, a great live concert song for Elvis Presley and written by Hoyt Axton who's mother Mae wrote "Heartbreak Hotel" which Elvis had a "little" hit with way back in the 50's.....
It was written and recorded by Hoyt Axton and later covered by Three Dog Night. I believe in between Hoyt's version and three dog night that Waylon Jennings recorded it also.
what is this song off of? i've never heard it!?! I need to dig out my English import of Love, Shelby, and upload those 3 exclusive tracks...You, Jaws of Life, and Star Broker, unless somebody else wants to do it; and what happened to the video of her doing Surfer Girl at the Brian Wilson Tribute? Guess I'll have to order it from amazon; also, she's done some other duets I've gotta track down I don't have copies of yet, such as with Shawn Mullins and some others.
Love this version!
loves me some Shelby-Lynne...
Cheers!
I think slow me down was the first song I heard her on, and I've liked her since.
frankc32 sorry, I think its out of habit...just used to commenting and replying as I am watching the videos.

H.Axton was a prolific song writer, and around actor and great musician.🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🇺🇸😎

Ain’t heard Shelby’s version of this Hoyt Axton song but it’s great Always Loved Shelby Lynn
It's burnin'.
Ths is a very well-known song from Three Dog Night...I love her stripped down version- and her voice is unmistakable..Wonderful version of a classic.

i'm glad that someone said-so
(and) with real class.
Shelby you're a joy. I feel guilty because you're 'our' secret when everybody should know about you, but there's nothing i can do to open cloth-ears.
You are exactly correct.
I love this.
Shelby makes me feel like a warm summer day in the country.
Or warm on a hot-cold summer night..
SL can sing the NYC phonebook with soul...
I liked it 👌🏼
It wasn’t over done or anything like that, just let those blues naturally flow and you get this cover which is vnoice indeed...
Nice Job....
top demais. show. perfeito!!!
Very cool
Stop with the 3DN comments already. It's a Hoyt Axton song. 3DN was a cover band. Hoyt also wrote Joy to the World.
Amen Bro- the most underrated songwriter of my lifetime.
Ken Koellner Didn’t Hoyt also write Heartbreak Hotel?
yeah she plays all the instruments too
Not really i think help on a couple tracks.....
❤

@spyyder976 It's from iTunes Sessions release...
"Three Dog Night "
3 Dog Night............from SL??
Who's the lead guitar ace on this?
What's wired is the title has my whole name.....
hard to ignore Elvis´ version - powerful as well, though
should also note that she puts Allison to shame in the talent department.
What can’t she sing? I have all her music
