The interesting thing about the first game (Fish Catcher) is that it’s actually a direct rip off of a bonus mini game from an NES game called Panic Restaurant, with the same sprites and everything.
You're totally correct! We didn't even realize that while playing the game. This console only just got WORSE!
Catch the Egg also happens to be a rip off of another mini game from Panic Restaurant as well. Why steal bonus games from a rather obscure NES game for your bootleg multi game console? The world may never know...

Terry Beardmore Well, it isn’t one of the most well known NES games, either. I’d say it’s fairly obscure, which would probably explain why the designers for the Venturer thought they could get away with copying a few of the bonus games from it and passing it off as original content. Guess I answered my own question.
@@electricalgear1519 yeah it's probably more obscure than I think. Late release, low numbers, etc. However it's in the top ten most bootlegged Nes games and I would say its status as a holy grail has *boosted* it's profile, but you're definitely right, I'm over estimating how well known it is because I spend time talking to collectors.
god I used to have a bootleg game system with at least half of the games shown in this video and I can't understand how I actually enjoyed playing these a lot of years ago
also the controller on that system was almost the same as this one, the d-pad and the buttons are literally the same, but the reset button was replaced with the select button (which is shocking) and the power switch was at the top

When you were talking about Road Fighter have a fuel limit I was thinking: “Doesn’t the original have a fuel limit though?” But then I realised that it’s just so bad it’s actually worse than the original.
I absolutely love those Mayan/Aztec style drawings in the lead up to Dragon Fire, they’re really well done!

Excel Racing is a blatant ripoff of the arcade game "Rally X."
It looks like Excel Racing would be fun for me. Rally-X was great, and this one looks like a slightly more detailed version of it. I wonder if the difficulty is the same.

I have clunked many quarters into various Rally X machines, for I too was a fan. However Excel Racing appears to be a little slow in comparison, and I am quite certain the controls just wouldn't feel the same. There weren't really any of the extra wide lanes, and it lacked the radar which revealed the location of flags and enemies. With that being said, I am positive I could squeeze more enjoyment out of it than what the narrator did . . . yet, I doubt it would be as much fun as Rally X.

22:38 ...yes, I actually do remember that game. My aunt had one. It was a little wooden board inside a box, and you could change the incline of the board via mechanical knobs on the outside. It was actually pretty engaging to younger me. Game version looks awful.

I used to have one too, though it wasn't made of wood. From what I recall, it was maybe a plastic box with a transparent panel suspended on it, as a with a dotted pathway and holes placed near them. While some have walls arranged in a maze, mine didn't appear to have any, so it can be possible to skip the dotted path.

That car game is not a Pacman clone. It's a clone of a different old arcade game that plays in the exact same manner.
In fact, the only thing different with this is the graphics.

and it seems most of the other shooters on that system uses the same game engine

I had one of these when I was a kid, used to have it on car trips on a portable dvd player on long car trips usually on holiday. Absolutly loved this thing particularly grass cutter and the racing game. Thank you for bringing back this really obscure memory.

@@gnmpolicemata It seems to be very common on the Northeast area of Brazil. "Cabra" meaning "man", is used alone or together with other words. The most common i heard was "cabra macho", which describes a brave man. Im pretty sure its BR exclusive, but i dunno... :v
And in Creole French, "cabrit sans cors", "goat without horns", is a term for a good old-fashioned human being. Something to do with human sacrifices during rituals.

Which makes sense, given that the sequels of Motor rally and jewel fever were on the wireless 60
Star Ally looks like it's ripping things from Summer Carnival '92: Recca. those shot graphics are from there at least.

Had this console when i was a kid. Some of these games were super fun to a 7 - 8 year old. I would mainly play it on a portable dvd player on long car rides.
Holy crap I actually know that game Bingo Zap is based off! It’s actually a wooden box, with walls so the ball can’t fall out, and a roof so you can’t see the ball, and the idea is to use these dials on the sides which tilts the flat board surface the marble is on, trying to make the ball fall though the hole. I have a similar version in my room with me, but this one is a maze, and has maze map painted on the lid so you can tell where to move the ball. I think the idea is to place the box on your lap, so you can feel the ball (which is designed to be very heavy, it’s not even that big but it’s made out of like lead or something, so you can actually feel the weight) moving, but I quite like the put it down on the desk and just work out where the ball based off sound and the angle of tilt.
I’m pretty certain it’s a pretty ancient concept. I definitely played one like Bingo Zap, but that was a long, long time ago. The one I have is probably around 50 years old, it used to be my Dad’s, then I inherited it, but before he got it it was from my grandfather, which makes it somewhere between 30-70 years old. I wouldn’t be surprised if my grandad inherited it from someone even older then him though.

OK, so I actually remember playing these games prior to 2010 on a plug and play that was also a portable TV for cars. Unfortunately, I only played the games most of the time. Pray for me, people.
16:52 that's Namco Rally X, quite literally a Rally X clone mostly because of the checkpoints and oil marks that you can leave behind your car (wich is smog in the actual Rally X)
Excel Race seems to be more based on Rally X, another classic Namco arcade game. In Rally X and New Rally X you drive around a small stage collecting flags while avoiding enemy cars and your only defense is a smokescreen.

I used to have a car DVD player that came with some games on it, and some of these games I remember from it. I had flashbacks as soon as I saw the fish grabbing game. That one, the elf and jam one, and the pelican on a stick one were 100% on there, same sounds and all. Only difference was, if I remember right, I played them with a controller akin to an air conditioner controller (yaknow, the very thin ones with soft buttons that are just bumps sticking up from the controller). I had completely forgotten about it, but when I saw the games and heard the sounds in this video, it all came flooding back to me.
Only a reviewer like Rerez dares to play crap devices & come out with his wits intact.
