My wife passed away from breast cancer in December, aged 44. I came across this song and it destroys me. It makes me realise how brave and strong she was throughout the pregnancy and birth of our three sons. How amazing and loving she was as a wife and mother. I wish we'd had more time together. I miss her so much. 😔
Hii, I feel sorry for you. I’m sure she’s in a happy place now. When you listen to this song just imagine her being strong and powerful. Because that’s what she was and what she should be remembered as. You should see her life as something amazingly beautiful and so is your life! Enjoy it. I send you all my strength and love!
This song is very personal and precious to me. Back in 1993 after already having 2 miscarriages, my wife all of a sudden was feeling excruciating pain in her stomach. We hurried to the Hospital ER and she was found to be bleeding internally and she was filled with blood. The ultrasound revealed she had an ectopic pregnancy. As she was taken to O.R. for surgery I was sent to the waiting room as they told me she had lost quite a lot of blood and would need at least 2 blood transfusions. I waited and worried as it seemed for hours. I had already loved Kate Bush and this song for years and so it continued to play in my head over and over and over again as I cried and worried for the life of my dear wife. It really got me through a really tough ordeal. Almost 30 years later (and 3 other high risk pregnancies' resulting in C sections), we have 6 wonderful children ( and 2 grand-daughters). This song still means so much to me and makes me cry almost every time I hear it !!!! Women indeed sacrifice so much in order to bring life into this world.
When my son passed away in 2013, I was severely stricken with grief, as a coping mechanism I would play this song over and over as like a dedication to my son, parts of the song reminded me of him, especially when she sing give me that little kiss, give me your hand, reminded me when my son was little and I would pick him up from daycare and his eyes would lite up when he saw me and have this big smile on his face and he would run over to me and give me a little kiss and grab my hand and we would walk back to the car holding hands to go home. Music has a way of tearing at your soul, that’s how you know a song like this is a masterpiece when you can relate on a deeper conscious level. Thank you Kate for leveling me up in so many beautiful ways!!!Blessed Be!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm sorry for your loss... My (step)daughter (my daughter nonetheless) THIS SONG also reminds me of her... I'd give ANYTHING to hear her laugh... And that little kiss... EVERY WORD of this song is for her... For Haley
It's such a delicate and personal feeling when you fall in love with a song and I do the same thing playing it over and over listening to the lyrics that our saying exactly what you are saying in your head and heart. I'm so sorry for your loss but happy that there is such a wonderful talent in Kate Bush to be able help you through such a torrid time xx❤️❤️❤️
OFMD brought me here and I LOVE IT Kate Bush coming out of left field in the 2020s to make us bawl through not one but TWO tv shows y’all we are WINNING
I'm 16, and my friends laugh at my songs on my ipod, including this one. They don't realise what a sensational woman she was, is. She is an amazing singer, and such an inspiration.
Algunos como tú y como yo somos seres extraños con una sensibilidad que nos hace especiales, cualquiera con un gran corazón puede enamorarse fácilmente de la música de Kate Bush.
I first heard this song in "She's having a baby". Always thought it was beautiful. My husband listened to it while I was having complications giving birth. Now, (12-9-21) I'm listening to this while watching my mom sleep in the hospital.. She is losing her battle with cancer & won't last the weekend. This woman's work isn't done. But, Lord take her soon, so her pain will stop. 💔💔
I read this and cried. I pray for strength for you and peace for your beautiful mother. God bless you both always. Know how loved you are and that your mom will always be with you.
I think this has to be one of Kate's most agonisingly beautiful songs, it's like the sound of someone's heart breaking, no one can turn back time. Sad, beautiful, utterly brilliant, what more can I say
For years I thought this was Maxwell's song, until I accidentally stumbled onto it this morning. As soon as she started singing, I don't know what came over me. Tears and memories just flowed from me so bad, that cheeks were soaked, and had this big knot in my throat. Listened to it to 2 hours and each time it became stronger than the last. WOMAN IS A TOTAL GENIUS. Even PRINCE listened to her music.
I'm so glad Kate is still alive and can see her music becoming outrageously popular 3 decades later. I got into Kate because of The Handmaid's Tale season 2, and have loved her ever since! and now because of Stranger Things she's exploding again with a brand new generation. Amazing!
It is. The Jig of Life has always been my favorite from Hounds of Love. But I saw a meme that says US is in a proxy war with Russia. Top Gun is the Top Movie, and Kate Bush is at the top of the charts. It's like someone said, "Let's do 1986 over again!" " :) :0
There are many people who also discovered Kate Bush because of Firefly Lane on Netflix. This song was played in the last episode and it broke many hearts
My wife died 84 days ago. She was taken by a bacterial infection in 6 hours. She was 46 years old and she was a beautiful piano player. I was left alone with two seven-year-old children. This song shot in the middle of my heart.
I love both Kate's and Maxwell's version of this incredible cut. I dedicate this to my mother who passed away this past Sunday (06-13-2021). RIP, MOM,😔🙏♥️💎🌹.
Kate wrote this for a John Hughes film called 'she's having a baby.' It's the genius of Kate Bush that she got commissioned to write a song for the soundtrack of a middle-tier 80s melodrama and thought "I think I'll go and write the single most heartbreaking song of all time."
I've been on a Kate Bush binge for the last 3 days (since watching that episode) and it's astounding how many men she has brought to tears in the comments.
I only ever heard the Maxwell version all my 25 years of life. Always loved his version & now I love the orginal. Shoutout to Kate freaking BUSH!!!!💪🏾🔥🙌🏼👏🏾
Today was my first time listening to this version; Maxwell’s version was what I knew but I knew she sung it before him but never gave it a listen. I was not expecting to have such an emotional response to hearing this but I’m so glad I listened to it ❤❤
@@reeshemahsimmons9963 omg this just happen to me too i just finished mother. i was like who da hell is that messing up maxwell song . i had to look it up
Val O'Brien You may have a music degree but some of your comments are just plain high school for instance, you say bush created a persona for herself like that's. a bad thing, when that is exactly what all of the great singers have done. it's called"performance", you know? You say her voice is childlike like that's necessarily a bad. thing, and even though no child has ever sounded like her. you may have some genuine reasons to dislike her , but those are not legitimate reasons. as far as her personality, and musical knowledge, that's so far beyond music criticism, that's it's no wonder people took you for King Troll now, try again
I am so proud of Kate. She creates music that knows no decade and is incorporated in some awesome story lines. I've never seen OFMD, but I figure she would have liked what she saw to have it in there.
OFMD is one of those shows where in the first episode, you're like "ok, this isn't what I expected, what is this?!" And by the end of season 1, you care about them more than some of your own family.
My mother died seven years ago, in the early morning. I caught a taxi home from the hospital, poured myself a rum and coke at 4am (her favourite drink) played this and cried.
I understand my mum was my life and I loved her so much, she died when I was sixteen sometimes I would allow myself to put aside the need to be okay and just let go of all the sadness it hurt so much and to allow yourself to feel that is a brave thing, to let the sadness wash over you like a rough wave ready to crush you down to sand, to physically feel the strength leave your body and be replaced with a feeling of lost hopelessness it's a kind of healing pain that I thank you for reminding me of because I never want to forget how that felt just as much as I don't want to forget the moments when my mum was alive. Thank you X P.s sorry this is so long but I'm a bit of a rambler believe it or not this has been shortened a good bit.
My wife passed away five months ago. She loved Kate and this song in particular. It’s now a poignant reminder to me of the fine line that exists between joy and sorrow, happiness and grief.
Oh, ohh-ooh-ooh-ooh Oh, ohh-ooh-ooh-ooh Oh, ohh-ooh-ooh-ooh Pray God you can cope I stand outside this woman's work This woman's world Ooh, it's hard on the man Now his part is over Now starts the craft of the father I know you have a little life in you yet I know you have a lot of strength left I know you have a little life in you yet I know you have a lot of strength left I should be crying but I just can't let it show I should be hoping but I can't stop thinking Of all the things I should've said That I never said All the things we should've done Though we never did All the things I should've given But I didn't Oh, darling, make it go Make it go away Give me these moments back Give them back to me Give me that little kiss Give me your I know you have a little (hand) life in you yet I know you have a lot of strength left I know you have a little life in you yet I know you have a lot of strength left I should be crying but I just can't let it show I should be hoping but I can't stop thinking Of all the things we should've said That we never said All the things we should've done Though we never did All the things that you needed from me All the things that you wanted for me All the things that I should've given But I didn't Oh, darling, make it go away Just make it go away now
So do I at my age of 57 My mum is 88 this evening in hospital. Am listening to songs and this moves me again so much It kind of says it all about my mum Am waiting to see if my mum comes home again.
I was 13. Still love her music 45 years later. Recently I've been listening to Anne Briggs, who was recording in the 60s and early 70s. Another unique talent
I'm young, I've never been married, never had kids, never dealt with any unexpected loss or potential loss of a loved one, but Kate is so phenomenal a songwriter I feel like I know how it would feel now. I don't understand how she can evoke such emotion in me from a situation I've never even been near.
Having lost my beautiful boy when he turned 21, this song tears me apart every time I hear it. The pain the heartache. Kate you are a master at adding such emotions to your songs. Amazing.
This video is an absolute masterpiece in its own right. Directed by Kate Bush herself, I think we really need to give huge credit and respect to actor Tim McInnerny. Best known for his comic roles such as Lord Percy and Captain Darling in Blackadder, here McInnerny shows greater depth, emotional intensity and heartbreak in three and a half minutes than some actors do in their entire career. Hugely underrated actor!
I couldn’t agree more. I’m a big Blackadder fan, but if I should ever bump into Tim McInnerny, however unlikely that may be, I’ll compliment him on _this_ fantastic piece of acting.
As a 57 year old woman and a fan of Kate Bush’s utter genius since Wuthering Heights was released .. I don’t have the words for how grateful I am that she is applauded by so many new and young fans. When I return to this song as I have today. I play it over and over again. I can’t get enough of it … on these emotional days ❤️
I feel the same way and I'm a 60 year old woman and now My Grandkids know her music also .They listen to much of my favorite of many different genres ,which pleases me greatly lol
This is now in “A Man called Otto”. Beautiful Movie, great story, deserves an Oscar for best story line. For all who loved and loss love…, this was a priceless song selection.
Just watched it twice...wasn't gonna watch it cause I had my fill of Tom Hanks, lol. It's not like he needs another Oscar but the movie does. It was a great movie and Oscar worthy considering what and who they give Oscars to and for...a real story line that is serious, true to life, funny at times, tinged with melancholia and some sadness, but overall it's just a nice movie, and a movie of complicated relationships of who & how we effect one another. It's the best movie I've seen in awhile. At first I thought is was Tori Amos singing & then Wuthering Heights came to mind, and I knew it was none other than Kate Bush; her haunting voice added to the melancholy & sadness of the scene.
I love Tom Hanks and I cried in that movie. Sometimes all it takes is one person to check on you and bring you back from the breaking point. And in his case he had someone who wasn't an "Idiot"
It's actually a remake of a Swedish movie "En man som heter Ove", based on the book by Fredrik Backman. Read the novel and watch the original movie it's so much better...
When I was 16 she released Wuthering Heights & I adored her & listened to the album obsessively. She inspired me in many ways, as did all the bullies who sang Wow Wow Wow at me in the school corridors…we wear school uniform in Britain, I just ‘unfortunately’ look like her & come from the same home town so we sound alike. I chose to embrace it! She wasn’t a 1 hit strange wonder. Looking alike stopped being an insult when I was in my 20’s & it was cool to like her! People are strange…not me!
to my darling wife Hannah, whom we lost 17 years ago. It was hard on the man and I'm still trying to 'cope' . we grew up with Kate Bush, as it were and this song and the video are practically perfect
All the best my friend, I suffered very similar . . . N she loved kate bush ..... I didn't till I was left with 1 song that hits my soul every time it's played.🙄
Lyrics: Pray God you can cope I stand outside this woman's work This woman's world Ooh, it's hard on the man Now his part is over Now starts the craft of the father I know you've got a little life in you yet I know you've got a lot of strength left I know you've got a little life in you yet I know you've got a lot of strength left I should be crying, but I just can't let it show I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking Of all the things I should've said That I never said All the things we should've done Though we never did All the things I should've given But I didn't Oh, darling, make it go Make it go away Give me these moments back Give them back to me Give me that little kiss Give me your hand I should be crying, but I just can't let it show I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking Of all the things we should've said That we never said All the things we should've done Though we never did All the things that you needed from me All the things that you wanted for me All the things that I should've given But I didn't Oh, darling, make it go away Just make it go away now You're welcome
Kate Bush has recorded so many beautiful songs, her talent has been demonstrated so many times, surely there can't be anybody who hasn't been moved at all by any of her great works.
Hi I wanna tell you Jesus Loves You So Much He Gave His Life for our sins so we can be forgiven from our sins and Go To Heaven! Gods Love For Us Is Unconditonal
I used to listen to this song repeatedly when I lost 3 of my 5 pregnancies. It helped me keep going and to remember we both hurt. That was 30 years ago & this song is still so important to me as I sit here with the husband that stood by me each time.
I am 51, I love Kate Bush . Never did I think when I was in my teens that one day I would be listening to Kate Bush bc my 23 year old daughter discovered her thanks to Stranger Things. Just proof good music transcends time.
I AM THE SAME AGE AS KATE AND IT IS AMAZING HOW SHE IS MORE POPULAR NOW THAN SHE WAS BACK IN THE DAY......THANK GOD HER MUSIC BELONGS TO HER SO SHE IS MAKING MONEY ALL OVER AGAIN OFF OF 38 YEAR OLD MUSIC
I don't think a better song about grief and loss has been written or probably ever will be, anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one will understand the truth and poignancy of this song. It is a masterpiece.
This is THE Kate Bush song for me. Tears every single time. I'm a minute in and struggling to type this. Thank You Kate, you have no idea how much your music helped a little boy in a kids home in the 80s. I'm so glad people are discovering you for the 1st time again😊
I work in a Palliative care Hospice and had a very emotionally charged day the other week, as I drove home this came on my playlist and my whole day of holding the hand of a lady who was dieing just poured out, such a beautifully put together and haunting piece of music!
For what you do I thank you unreservedly!! My mother passed away under those circumstances… heartbreaking 💔 I could not do your job as crazy as my job is .. stay safe Owen and again thank you Diolch 🏴
I was in the earthquake in Mexico about a month ago and a school fell down. Lots of little children died, it was awful. I was there helping as a volunteer. I remember arriving there and seeing all the parents trying to find their kids. There was a tree where they put all of the names of the kids they were trying to locate. I remember a father holding a piece of paper with his child’s name. José Eduardo Huerta... Later that night they published a list of names of some of the kids that died in there and that name was in there... For some reason I remember this song playing in my head... I hope all of those little kids rest in peace..
@Nanda Valim. You are an amazing person for going and helping out the way you did. I can't imagine how that father felt at that moment when he saw his sons name there. It brings tears to my eyes even now thinking about that horrible tragedy.
This is how it worked, this song, to grieve when cancer returned, the pain on those who loved me. Hard to say which is worse, its return or the pain it caused them.
This was the song that my wife who died in 1992 played to me to tell me what she was feeling and thinking . Been a lifelong Kate fan, a soldier in her fan club many years ago
Many things form the 1980s having been becoming very popular again. Kate Bush's amazing music and artistry is the latest addition to this list, and well deserved.
I just discovered Kate Bush a week ago. I have been enthralled with her music. So many amazing songs. When I was listening to this I broke down crying. I am a 41 year old guy, I didnt expect this song to hit so hard. Kate Bush is brilliant.
A couple of others you may want to check out (if you haven't already) are Moments Of Pleasure and Under The Ivy. It's hard to know what people will and won't like but I think they are very beautiful.
Kate is a conduit. You can hear the angels passing through. She opens you to what is and what can be. You are part of her experience and it leaves you changed. Forever.
I was an original Kate fan. Found her first album in the Wax and Facts in Atlanta. I was 13 years old. Her music was the soundtrack of my life from that point forward. God bless her.
I’m 49. I’ve heard so many songs. This is by far, my favourite song of all time. Getting buried to this. Love Kate Bush! Saw her in London once. Almost shat myself. What a voice. What a song. Thank you Kate.
Hi I wanna tell you Jesus Loves You So Much He Gave His Life for our sins so we can be forgiven from our sins and Go To Heaven! Gods Love For Us Is Unconditonal!
If you saw her in 2014, I was at one of those shows too. Traveled from California for it. It was unlike any show I’d ever seen. My seat mate and I were bawling by intermission. Gave this big, burly guy some of my Kleenex.
@@marshas.9218 oh wow. I'm from London but because of health problems couldn't get to the show. I'm so kealous. There's absolutely nothing on TH-cam, well virtually nothing. You're so lucky.
@@alexanderthegreat7213 So I just found this guy's channel who was at some of the 2014 shows. Apparently, he has footage of the shows, but was waiting to see if an official DVD would be released. He's waited 8 years so he literally just started posting them a couple of days ago. It's not the best angle and quality, but it's still something for you to see what the show was like. I hope you can get some enjoyment from them. th-cam.com/users/shedsoundsuk
Of all of Kate's songs this hits closest to home. I've sat in the waiting room waiting to hear about my wife. I've also sat besides her during chemo treatments not knowing how things would turn out. I couldn't count the number of times this song ran through my mind. Life is too short to take anyone granted. This song says what I though during those times. I'm blessed that she is still around.
I'm so happy for you mate. There is nothing more precious than the love you have for your partner. I know you will, but keep telling her how much you love her and how precious she is to you. I'm 66 and I do that more than once everyday with my wife. She helped me get through some trying times in my past, especially when I had a heart attack 6 years ago. She's the love of my life and I cherish every minute of the day, knowing that she's right there beside me even when she's not actually there. This year will be our 37th wedding anniversary and our 40th year together and I'm so happy I met her as I'm sure you feel the same about your wife. I wish you and her all the best for the rest of your lives.
I held my beautiful wife as she passed away from cancer in September 2020, not long after she'd turned 50, and a week after our 18th Wedding Anniversary .. I am so sorry Darling i couldn't make it go away.... X
Played this at my teenaged son's funeral in 2019. Kate has been the narrative of my life -the happy, the joyful and the devastatingly, achingly sorrowful.
@adriansecker3124 Multi genre genius. Piano ballads, rock, prog rock, synth pop, experimental punk. Mentored by Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd at age 15.
She really is, isn't she? I remember hearing her recounting a visit to a supermarket in London, when she was at the height of her fame. She was trying to buy coffee and cat litter, and was most alarmed to look up and see about 50 other shoppers staring at her. We all know why :)
Just suffering a major loss, losing my beautiful fiance. This song played when we first met, I remember that day like it was just yesterday. To think we were months away from our wedding I can't believe your gone. I'll aways cherish this song in her memory, thank you kate.
There are some songs that are so special that they only come along once in a generation and this is one of them. This song means so much to so many of us. Thank you Kate. Kind Regards, Ian Tresidder, London, England.
Apparently we need to thank fans from "A Man Called Otto" and "OFMD" for this tidbit. Kate's streaming numbers for this song were around 35k/day. Early August - to today - those numbers show between 50k and 70k daily, with brief dips to 35k. Kudoes to all fans of really cool cinema.
44 years ago!! I was 6……. and a half years old. I remember hearing Wuthering Heights on late night radio…. But it was Running up that Hill in 1986 that really got me hooked - she was another level. That song really spoke to my 13 yr self / growing up in the 80s And now at 50… and a half years old, all I can say is still what an amazing force in the world Kate Bush is. Her music must still connect to kids today like it did to me 40 years ago. And if it doesn’t, well ok. I still get chills thinking about how she managed to put on performances like this one. And so many amazing songs and how she connected to people through her melodies, lyrics, and choreography. What an innovator and a seannchai. ❤
After a long and difficult labor with my son, I almost bled out. I heard this over and over in my head. I know you have a little life in you yet gave me enough to hang on. My gratitude for her music knows no bounds.
My mom passed away 10 years ago and this song is hauntingly beautiful and tragically sad at the same time, and always reminds me of her. I miss her so much 😢
Anche la mia mamma è andata e con lei parte del mio essere, c’è un prima e c’è un dopo, questo brano fotografa un momento preciso della nostra vita ma in realtà sono le nostre sensazioni vissute. Dolcissimo e vero, bravissima artista, vero tramite.
My mother passed away back in oct 2008. She was 53. I was 31. So ya, I hear you and I totally understand. Your parents are supposed to grow old, not die young and suddenly. My father died last year as well. But, at least I'm the most mature I've ever been about the topic of mortality. Especially my own. I'm ready to go at any time, I will be until I'm called home.
I´m 59 years and i've known Kate Bush and her extraordinary voice since I was young. But I didn't know this song. Yesterday I watched "A Man Called Otto!" on Netflix. with one of the greatest actors, Tom Hanks. Then suddenly I heard this voice, this song. Unmistakably, Kate Bush! I sat on the couch, watched the movie, listened to the music and cried. I celebrate that Kate is finding success with her songs after so many years.
Kate Bush was big in my childhood (I'm a Brit) and hearing this song after so many years takes me right back. I'm even listening to Wuthering Heights again after all these decades. These songs just don't age x
@michaelb2021. Americans must understand that before the use of Ruth in strange sthing Kate Bush was not stranger to success... And as a so writer, composer producer she was already rich, richer with cover of her song...
Hey, being of a similar age to you catch the original in 'She's Having a Baby' . There are so few songs that deal with the true experience of fatherhood, the weird dilemma that your love for another has both created something of joy to you both but also has put them in possible danger. For all the Home Alones and Uncle Bucks, it is this much overlooked film that is John Hughes' most honest legacy.
When my mom passed away after years of illness my brother made a picture collage of her set to this song...everything about this song reminds me of her, what a beautiful person she was, inside and out, and how much I miss her. Even after over a decade of my mom's passing, this song still overwhelms me with emotion and memories...rendering me completely unable to even speak.
Four months ago my only brother was seemingly healthy and then, the next week developed intense pain that drove him to the ER, where he was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. He’s in his final days now, and I’m stunned…gutted…I can’t picture life without him here! 😭💔
You will be together again.. and you will learn to live with this loss and his absence for me at least the pain has never left you just keep going somehow it just happens..
Im sorry. I feel your pain. My brother was always healthy. Then he was claimed by that awful disease. My best friend in the world was gone exactly four months after we buried our mother, who was my other best friend. 😢
Can't listen to this without SOBBING 😭😭😭 I love Kate so much. She puts into words what I can't find in my own head. Thank goodness for humans like her and her talents that she has shared with us all. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Sorry to hear :(
Hii, I feel sorry for you. I’m sure she’s in a happy place now. When you listen to this song just imagine her being strong and powerful. Because that’s what she was and what she should be remembered as. You should see her life as something amazingly beautiful and so is your life! Enjoy it. I send you all my strength and love!
God bless ❤

I agree with you, this is completely beautiful, and completely out of the spotlight.

Music has a way of tearing at your soul, that’s how you know a song like this is a masterpiece when you can relate on a deeper conscious level. I think this has to be one of Kate's most agonisingly beautiful songs, it's like the sound of someone's heart breaking, no one can turn back time. Sad, beautiful, utterly brilliant, what more can I say
Could not have put it better !
Yes I think you have put it beautifully.
Such a beautiful song . Such a great talent
There really aren't enough superlatives for Kate's beautiful songs , isn't it true .
Yes such a brilliant artist Kate Bush was / is .

Kate had Akers’s been alive this generation have just found her we have been on her journey since 1974 now enjoy and listen to music that has meaning
There are many people who also discovered Kate Bush because of Firefly Lane on Netflix. This song was played in the last episode and it broke many hearts

I was listening to Love & Anger in the car one day, and my 15 year old daughter asked "who is this? I like it".
Kate wrote this for a John Hughes film called 'she's having a baby.' It's the genius of Kate Bush that she got commissioned to write a song for the soundtrack of a middle-tier 80s melodrama and thought "I think I'll go and write the single most heartbreaking song of all time."
Matched the scene perfectly, phenomenal.
that’s Kate Bush for ya
That's indeed what she did.

You know nothing about her. People like you make me sick ! TROLL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the things i should have done, but it didnt
Val O'Brien You may have a music degree but some of your comments are just plain high school
for instance, you say bush created a persona for herself like that's. a bad thing, when that is exactly what all of the great singers have done. it's called"performance", you know?
You say her voice is childlike like that's necessarily a bad. thing, and even though no child has ever sounded like her.
you may have some genuine reasons to dislike her , but those are not legitimate reasons.
as far as her personality, and musical knowledge, that's so far beyond music criticism, that's it's no wonder people took you for King Troll
now, try again
I am so proud of Kate. She creates music that knows no decade and is incorporated in some awesome story lines. I've never seen OFMD, but I figure she would have liked what she saw to have it in there.

OFMD is one of those shows where in the first episode, you're like "ok, this isn't what I expected, what is this?!" And by the end of season 1, you care about them more than some of your own family.
@@mintygreywhat does it stand for
My mother died seven years ago, in the early morning.
Thank you X

I don't understand how she can evoke such emotion in me from a situation I've never even been near.

pat2rome I've had a loss close to me so this song is very special
Having lost my beautiful boy when he turned 21, this song tears me apart every time I hear it. The pain the heartache. Kate you are a master at adding such emotions to your songs. Amazing.
@pat2 - You don't really know what the song "is" to people who have felt loss.
(and long may that continue for you. :-) )
You have empathy, which is one of the greatest gifts people can give to each other.

“A Man called Otto”.
What a movie and totally enhanced with this awsome tune.
A man called Otto, brought me here ❤
It's actually a remake of a Swedish movie "En man som heter Ove", based on the book by Fredrik Backman. Read the novel and watch the original movie it's so much better...
First "Running Up That Hill" in Stranger Things, now "This Woman's Work" in A Man Called Otto! Kate Bush is on fire right now! Both are amazing songs.
Also on "Firefly Lane" S1 E10 (43 mins in)
I came for this song righ after watching the move as well! Such a touching moment, the song felt perfect in the scene!
Watch She's Having a Baby with Kevin Bacon. Heart wrenching scene
She always has been. She's a real artist.
Goodness watching the movie now, had to stop the movie and watch this song! Love it!
For me, Kate Bush was simply the greatest female artist, ever.
Still is.

I was in the earthquake in Mexico about a month ago and a school fell down. Lots of little children died, it was awful. I was there helping as a volunteer. I remember arriving there and seeing all the parents trying to find their kids. There was a tree where they put all of the names of the kids they were trying to locate.
What a beautiful song by the fantastic Kate Bush.. thank you Kate 🙏
So so sorry. Lost my husband of 29 yrs no illness or warning just lookeď over n He was gonè. The immense ģrìef is unbearable xxxxx
@@xoio I am so sorry and crying reading your text ....Please stay strong 💪 and remember and cherish the great memories you both had ...✨️ 💛
It's okay, she knows, and she's waiting for you to catch up x
I hope you are heeling🎉
✨🤍🕊️
Played this at my teenaged son's funeral in 2019. Kate has been the narrative of my life -the happy, the joyful and the devastatingly, achingly sorrowful.
So terribly sorry for your loss.
Sending you strength and comfort at this time of loss and grief. xxx
Damn I would of lost it.
My condolences
Thank you 💗
Never really listened to Kate bush back in the day now I’m 59 and totally blown away by listening and watching her now
@adriansecker3124 Multi genre genius. Piano ballads, rock, prog rock, synth pop, experimental punk. Mentored by Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd at age 15.
This song is so phenomenal I burst out crying. My entire body experienced this song 💔 my dad brought me up on Kate Bush, miss you.
Loved this in OFMD!! So beautiful!
What is omfd ? Oh fuck my dick ?
I cry every time I listen to this. Simply beautiful.
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever made. Tim Mcinnerny acted brilliantly his part in this masterpiece.
... and that, ladies & gents, is what we call genius.
She really is, isn't she? I remember hearing her recounting a visit to a supermarket in London, when she was at the height of her fame. She was trying to buy coffee and cat litter, and was most alarmed to look up and see about 50 other shoppers staring at her. We all know why :)
One of the very few true modern musical geniuses.
She truly is a remarkable artist and I too would call her a genius of her craft.
Tim McInnerny's role is immense. So many feelings expressed without a word...
Just suffering a major loss, losing my beautiful fiance. This song played when we first met, I remember that day like it was just yesterday. To think we were months away from our wedding I can't believe your gone. I'll aways cherish this song in her memory, thank you kate.
I’m so sorry for your loss 🤗
i’m so sorry for your loss x
I'm sorry for your loss x x x
yesterday was born my girl and back at home I heard this song for celebrating her mother work... God bless women ever!
The transition from the waiting room to the restaurant to the car to the hospital is an absolute masterclass.
It sure is.
agree
Apparently its one shot
After becoming a father and watching what my wife went through for our daughter, this song hits me right in the tear ducts.
This scene in She's Having A Baby is so iconic!!!
That's where I first heard it. Got me straight away. Beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time.
There are some songs that are so special that they only come along once in a generation and this is one of them. This song means so much to so many of us. Thank you Kate. Kind Regards, Ian Tresidder, London, England.
1:35 - Kate sings 'ooooh darling' as the man comes into focus and i suddenly realise he is Darling from Blackadder. Well played, Kate Bush.
Thanks for your sincere compliment and love,I’m not complete without you as my Fan I have you to be most thankful for 🌹🌹🌹🌹🥰❤️♥️♥️
Omg brilliant 👏👏👏👏👏
The one the only original version, sang with passion by the incredible Kate Bush. Stunning!
Songwriter composer producer arranger. FEMALE PRODUCER.
After a long and difficult labor with my son, I almost bled out. I heard this over and over in my head. I know you have a little life in you yet gave me enough to hang on. My gratitude for her music knows no bounds.
WHAT!! I love the Maxwell version... I had no idea this was Kate Bush's work... Amazing! Her talent is NEXT level!
My mom passed away 10 years ago and this song is hauntingly beautiful and tragically sad at the same time, and always reminds me of her. I miss her so much 😢
💞 She’s with you, always.
Anche la mia mamma è andata e con lei parte del mio essere, c’è un prima e c’è un dopo, questo brano fotografa un momento preciso della nostra vita ma in realtà sono le nostre sensazioni vissute.
Dolcissimo e vero, bravissima artista, vero tramite.
My mum passed away 16 years ago , I feel your pain brother . This song always reminds me of her, stay safe. X
So beautiful
Kate Bush was going throw something so extraordinary that she doesn't understand..Timeless 😩❤️❤️
i just watched a man called otto also and now im here.
My wife nearly died during childbirth, this song instantly reduces me to tears, this is pure beauty xxx
Sending Prayers 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
✨🤍🕊️ .. Thinking of you and your loved ones.
He's a thought away❤
Im sorry. I feel your pain. My brother was always healthy. Then he was claimed by that awful disease. My best friend in the world was gone exactly four months after we buried our mother, who was my other best friend. 😢
One of the most incredibly sad songs ever written. Absolutely done beautifully by Kate Bush.
Can't listen to this without SOBBING 😭😭😭 I love Kate so much. She puts into words what I can't find in my own head. Thank goodness for humans like her and her talents that she has shared with us all. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
This song just breaks my heart! She embodies strength and vulnerability in women hood. Men could never…
Thank you Dave Gilmore for discovering such a gem.
SAME 30 years later i still love this song
Kate Bush is a musical genius... Im so glad my parents understand good music and were able to expose me to her.
The most creative artist in my lifetime. Every song is a story provoking a different emotion. Kate is an artist in every sense of the word.
