Finally a great DIY video with real instructions! No pre recorded voices, no annoying affiliate boxes on screen, no questionnable offers that are misleading. So refreshing.
Awesome idea! My family just adopted a shelter dog a couple of months ago, and she's pretty much just like your dog. But it was a blessing for her and us to find each other.
nice concept on the tank I like it . More importantly I respect the fact that you adopted instead of buying a pet I work right next to a shelter so I know the process that is involved. great video and important topic .Thanks and keep your lines tight man
Have been wanting to make a portable rinse/shower, thanks for detailing how easy it is to create. Also, so happy Roxy picked you as her guardian. The Human Society is a great place to adopt a pet. In my area the HS has adoption drives where it is basically free to adopt a dog or cat, just wanting them to have good, loving homes.
Best dog we could ever dream of. She is so well behaved and excellent with our baby Saylor. She doesn’t bark at all unless someone is entering the home she isn’t used to seeing. Pretty sure she was abused in the past. She is very timid and cowers a lot.
+nolidge1016 Thanks. Even useful for pets after hanging at the beach! That is awesome about your family! I made similar promise after seeing our dog Roxy. I knew the dog had a difficult life just looking at her cowering during petting. Couldn't stand the thought of walking out the door without her. I went into the Humane Society to humor my wife. I told her we won't be getting a dog today. Then Roxy changed my mind.
Good video and even better message on Humane Society. We make the most of what's called the SPCA here in Canada, which is our version of your HS. Great way to adopt a pet either way.
If I'm not mistaken, the sink sprayer hose has a rubber washer/O ring inside the nut which the threaded barb adapter seals against. No need for teflon pipe tape. You'r not sealing the threads.
This is my next project. I was looking for something like this for camping in my MyPod. Thanks! Also, I hadn't realized you were on the Gulf coast. I'm up in St Pete. I moved here a year ago next week. Best move ever!
Marc Pipistrello yep...right in Cape Coral. Feel free to reach out if coming down to the area. Maybe can meet up. Love this area. Just bought a 22' sailboat for $250!!! Fixing it up. Fun area to live.
@@KayakDIY Im originally from Jersey, vacationed my whole life all around Florida, in my late 20s for two years I lived in south fort myers in a place called Iona Lakes Apts. Was beautiful down there and first year, til the place went down hill. Love the area and San-Captiva too. My lab use to love the causeway beach and the gulf on Sanibel, chasing birds, dolphins and german tourist too lol. I miss it and want to go back, I have family in the cape. Im in Mount Shasta Ca for the past 6 years, gorgeous, but miss the water, gulf and jersey beaches too. Thanks for a great video, im thinking this idea for quick short term use and maybe a stainless steel container over plastic. My idea is to maybe use my 5 gal water cooler jug and drop in a tiny bilge pump for less the 20 bucks and a submersible heater/element as well; both plugging into my 12 volt cig lighters in my van. If I decide I need warm water for showers, it gets cold at night here, like 45-50 depending on the altitude and hot in the days; like 95-105 and very dry. Hey man, I left Florida in 2002 and there wasnt very much issues with iguanas and pythons down in the glades; man did they get populated!
+juan r Roxy is settling in nicely now. It was questionable at first if she could redevelop trust in people. Now she is acting like a normal happy dog. Heck she never leaves my side! Zero privacy with this dog. Haha. We love her though. Glad you liked the project.
I have the convenience of heating water on my camp stove while camping. If I were out needing it while not camping (such as rinsing equipment and people), I may paint most of the tank black to absorb sun. But is kitchen sink sprayer or garden hose nozzle more efficient?
If you don't want to use the hand pump, you can drill a 3/8 hole in the top of the tank and install an air valve. These tanks can be pressurized to about 45-50 PSI. Most of these pumps have a relief valve so you don't over pressurize it.

thank you for adopting. she is sweetest. i wish she have a full happy life with you.

+Matt Finch thankful everyday that we got this dog. She been a perfect match for our family.

I've used a standard garden hose fitting and nozzle instead of a sink sprayer also had to take a 1/4 inch off the dip tube to get adequate flow.
Thanks for giving Roxy a home and lots of love!

thanks for the video...........................and 1000 likes for Roxy!!!! thank you for adopting her and giving her the home she deserves!
Awesome project !
Great idea. A lot lighter than toting around a 5gl Jerry can.
Good on you brother. Roxie is adorable!
+Ed Hill we do love her. She is the sweetest dog I could ever imagine. Definitely man's best friend.
Great shower diy! Also, my family's little chihuahua was adopted. We swore that he would never have another bad day in his life.

You need some white tape stuff in the plumbing section for that leak on your outside faucet thingy!😉
THANK YOU! so easy. I've been looking for alternatives outside of lugging a 5 gal water bottle everytime my family and I go to the beach!
Nice, informative, and relatively easy to do. 👍👍 Thanks for sharing!
👍Seems easy enough. Thank you. 💝
Great video and instructions. Can't wait to get the stuff and make it! Love your new baby Roxy. She is so cute!
Great tip. Nice to meet Roxy!! Can't wait to see you do some diy stuff for her for your yaks!!

Nice bonus at the end, does she really like the kyack? That's great man, have an awesome day!
Cool video. Well done, sir.
Thanks! Works great for getting sand off before going in the vehicles and also rinsing gear.
looks great!!!
..On the Inside of the tank. ..replace the small tube with a larger tube to get More water flow...
i just made one with the same items, works well, the next thing to do is a painting of the container

I💕❤️😍Roxy and what an excelent Idea for the shower.
❤❤❤❤❤❤🐶
I need the wand. If you have it
I don’t have a left over original pump sprayer wand.
The parts to make this are linked in video description.

Ratdog 305 good idea. Just trying to keep it easy to fill and maintain easy off grid use.
