Yes!! Five string! After hearing your four string, I’ve been searching the Internet for a five string base just like this with the same pick up configuration.. I absolutely love that tone

🍣 I definitely think the finish should pretty much be the same as the 4 string. The relic and the shiny blue is fantastic. I think it would be pretty undeniable as to who the bass is affiliated with for people who are familiar with the channel. Thanks as always for inspiring!

I like the tonal profile of this bass a lot! I've never tried the Trickfish pre, but the whole aperture seems useful. I've heard all your basses many times over, and own a score of basses myself. Subjectively, I would absolutely add this to my stable. The looks are the icing on the cake. I hope this works out for you Janek. Enjoyed this video very much!🤜

Beautiful bass! I love double P's I had a custom double P's bass built by Tom Clement a builder out of Florida. It's a great bass by all standards. Double P's give you a whole different sonic quality, I also love reverse double P's as well.

I'm 21 minutes in, forgive me if you get to this later in the video. I'd love to hear the front pickup solo'd passive with your hand over this pickup to hear how the bass model does with a more classic P sound. take care! 🍣

Regarding the 'classical' playing position, I literally found your music. When I(a guitarist) decided to start really trying to learn bass(rather than treating like a big guitar) that position just seemed like the logical, comfortable way to play. When I noticed that most bassists had the bass sitting on their other leg(usually right), I asked on a forum why no one played the way I did. Several people said 'there's a guy named Janek who does, you should check out his stuff...'

I love the sounds you’re getting from that bass, and good god: you’re such a music machine when you’re playing an instrument you like! I got myself a semi-hollow bass with P/J pickups and man, it’s so much more fun to play at low volume. When i was first really getting into bass, i was certain that i would love a Warwick Thumb and that was my dream bass because my favorite bassist at the time (Ryan Martinie of Mudvayne and Soften the Glare) played them. I live in Alaska so it's hard to try instruments out so i took a trip to CA and tried every single bass i could get my hands on. When i got to the Thumb i didnt like anything about it. It was heavy, the neck profile amd steing spacing wasn't for me, it was twangy and thin sounding, it was ugly... just all around not for me. Eventually i lamded on a Musicman Bongo, which didn't initially pull me in based on appearance but the sheer versatility and comfort of it sold me. Now 18 ish years later, i have a custom bass built by a local friend and it suits my playing well. Finding something that fits you is really important and for a lot of people it isn't what they initally imagine.

nice bass Janek sounds great. I feel I must say, I feel I have quite a refined ear but any bass you play I struggle to distinguish the difference especially when I’m just listening (which I do often as I usually listen on car journeys) as it just sounds like you. I do know that the feel of a bass can hugely impact how you play it and inspire new ideas so I’m guessing is the reason you change it up every now and again.

It's definitely an option for future drops of the instrument. For now we're going with a solid color for the initial launch.

How much this bass gonna cost to us?

    • @janekgwizdala
      @janekgwizdala  9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

Can’t say right now, we haven’t settled on an exact price. Like k said in the video, it’s not going to be $10k, but it’s also not going to be $1,200. Probably somewhere in the middle, but I really don’t know yet.

Congratulations Janek on finally receiving such a wonderfu sounding instrument and honestly with your touch, you'd
make anything sound like a dream bass.

one step at a time. We have to test the market, and develop the instrument fully, and 10 seems to be the sweet spot for a small run right now.

@@janekgwizdala just to call you out like it was said in the conversation with Ian and scott on SBL…
As a long time follower (even before the vlogs) is very disappointing to see 2024 Janek is what 2023 Janek was trying not to be, now is hard to know what is real and what is for just views and subscribers

@@ivyxhazel Again, watch the video. Waste of time having the conversation until you have the facts.
You can carry on with your own version of reality for as long as you like, but it won't reveal much of the truth.
And fwiw, it's never about the clicks and the views. I think the fact that I make videos no matter what the view count speaks for itself.
The majority of effort I put into making videos for this channel get basically no views. You would have thought that if attention front and center, and was the only thing that mattered to me, I might have done something drastic about it like completely changed course and just done dumbass reaction videos, or played fast and loud in front of the camera on every social media platform available.
