I've seen some people ask if there is an elevator play in NBA 2K and there is. It's a zipper cut to (usually) the primary ball handler who then waits for the weakside G/F to get open with the two screens. It can be found in the clippers playbook and I think it's called "Zipper Cross 2" or something like that.
BBALLBREAKDOWN even though I'm not a huge fan of this year's 2k I did stumble on "hammer" a couple nights ago in the spurs playbook, though you can't go all the way to the baseline or you'll throw the pass against the rim/backboard. but it is pretty satisfying to execute.
Great video coach. A great example of how horns is one of the most versatile offensive sets to run. Also a great example of how coaching plays a HUGE role in the success of a team. Scott Brooks is one of the worst coaches on a team of good players that I have seen in many, many years (You could also put Kevin McHale in that category). Brooks should give 80% of his salary to Durant and Westbrook because without them he has no job. They win games on ability. Coaching plays little to no role in their success. These two guys would make me look good as a coach.
You make a good point, however he has won a ton of games and their offensive and defensive ratings are very good. But I do agree that they get by much more on talent than anything else.
BBALLBREAKDOWN You're right coach, their offensive and defensive ratings are very good. I think that just illustrates how great Durant and Westbrook are as players. I can only imagine how much better they can be playing in a good offensive system. WOW.
Awesome video coach! Your breakdowns make the game almost seem simple. I think that's actually the idea. Basic fundamental basketball can yield great results.
That dribble pitch is a difficult thing to defend. I might start trying that with my recreation team. The other thing that caught my eye was Bonner fouling the three point shooter, which has become common this post season. Does anyone think it is a good idea to jump at a jump shooter? I've always been taught to close out with both feet on the ground.
as a pickup player, i've found out that dribble handoffs / pitches are way more deadly than pick-and-rolls; it's much harder to get over them, since both the screener and ball-handler are coming together so quickly. whenever I don't know what to do with the ball, I just dribble handoff to one of the guards on my team and it usually gets somebody wide open.
Coach, WHY DIDN'T THE SPURS RUN ANYTHING FOR THE LAST PLAY OF REGULATION???? Lol but how... just a Manu iso that's not how the spurs play But Go Timmy... He's amazin
Coach why did it take Spurs ti figure out Ibaka and the drive and kick? It should have taken effect in game 4. They played the same way in game 3 and game 4 and it wasn't effective at all.
BBALLBREAKDOWN I agree with that coach. I also believe that the desperation to try something new on the part of coach Popovich played a little role in that change.
I said the spurs would win in 6.. I knew they would and they ddnt disappoint.. better yet, it couldn't have gone any better than to beat them in their own court and crowd.. But cheers to Durant.. I ddnt like the Thunder, but respect Durant..
Hey Coach what type of offense shuld I make my teamates run? My coach does not run any offense only 5 out and I hate it. What should I do with my teamates so we can create good shot?

This is awesome, thanks. Stay tuned, we'll have some NBA2K content coming up soon..

BBALLBREAKDOWN nba 2k also?? You really expanding lol. But bring it on though

Nate Willett Is that right? You can't skip it along the baseline to the corner/?

Just waiting on LeBeatiful to show up :D
Haha yeah so true lol
coach nick didn't even bother to make an analysis video on east finals game 6 lol
1:12 but that was literally the best shot you could get outside of the paint

THanks!

You called that they were gonna hit Diaw! He had a lot of points last night.

Definitely start using dribble pitch - it's a great action
Could you break down Virginia's offense my high school team is running a version of it it would be really helpful, thanks!

They probably didn't want to risk turning it over
overtime is better than a turnover
Well I guess... they don't usually do that though
OKC has one of the most stagnate offense I've ever seen.
Where are the videos coach! :((((

Sometimes it takes some suffering for a lesson to be learned

No Parker no problem, Spur still got to the finals, but without Gary Neal, i don't know if the spurs can play the heat like they did last year.

When did you start sponsoring on fb
All I know is that horns is 1-2-2.
You should check out his court demonstration. There's a demonstration on how Horns set is run.
Coach has a video that explians how horns works.
How NBA Teams Run HORNS
Hey Coach what type of offense shuld I make my teamates run? My coach does not run any offense only 5 out and I hate it. What should I do with my teamates so we can create good shot?
when in doubt, do a dribble handoff
Ok I will try it.
Chavanun Siphomsay Yes - dribble pitch is a good start. How about pinch post?
I dont really understand how to pinch post.
That play where Westbrook throws a bad pass to Reggie Jackson and he makes the three...wouldn't it be a good play since it made him do the hop? :3
Haha, yes. Great recovery by Reggie. And a good find by Russ, just not great execution
please post the ass whoopin
Anyone know how tall Nick is?
Why is this a thing all of a sudden? Lolz
