He was a regional ruler based in Ajmer who ruled over areas that were adjacent to Ajmer. So when he fought against Muhammed Ghori, he was NOT fighting to save Hindus or India; instead, he was trying to SAVE his own kingdom. He was not a capable ruler either, as after winning the first battle against Ghori, he did not pursue them and let them march back to Afghanistan. Moreover, against the advice of his own officials, he did not prepare his army for the possibility of Ghori coming again with better force. Finally, he also had bitter disputes with other Hindu rulers. All these factors led to his defeat and ultimately to his demise.

Also that he expanded his kingdom from Ajmer to Delhi in between defeating several princely states in modern Rajasthan and adjoining areas and that there were two Hindu rulers of his contemporary times, who aligned with Ghauri to fight him and that Raja Jaichand was opposed to Samrat Priviraj Chauhan and also the episode of Sanyongita...and that Chandbardai wrote this 12th Century saga in 16th Century mostly as glorified character of Prithviraj Chauhan , his fight with Ghauri, Jaichand and romance with Samyogita....but the question is why Chandbardai chose Prithviraj as his protogonist and not Jaichand or any other his contemporary ruler for his poetic work unless there was something special or great about him remembered by the masses even after more than three hundred years after his reign and that he got so inspired to write a great poetic work on him to seek acceptance for it among masses...just because many Indian rulers in pre Sultanate period didn't have that professional practice of writing history and anecdotes , Chronicles of their times in a very organized manner by the professional writers, we cannot completely ignore the Indian tradition of ballads , charans which may identified with much later traditions of kissagoes, through which great stories were kept alive among people.....so please don't completely disown the efforts which are aiming to look at history with another/ different perspective just because the founder of this platforn nurture a political ideology...balance is and objectivity is required from those who practiced journalism...thank you..
Dear Srivastva ji, After the death of Samrat Harshavardhan , the Manuvadi forces created and supported smaller kingdoms for their vested interests. From Samrat Bimbisar to Samrat Ashok and upto Samrat Harshavardhan, Buddhism was the main religion. The brahmanical forces got a chance of spreading their religion after the death of Harshavardhan in 647 CE. They supported a bunch of newly anointed rulers who in their turn agreed to follow and promote Brahmanvadi religion. Later on, some of these rulers were christened as Rajputs. It may be noted here that from Bimbisar in 6th century BCE to Harshavardhan in 7th century CE, none of the kings was a Kshatriya or Rajput in the brahmanical sense. In 16th century, the Brahmins realised that although they eulogised and propagated the Kshatriyas as Kings in their scriptures yet in recorded history, none of the rulers was from a Kshatriya clan as defined by them. Hence , they started calling the rulers propelled by them during 700 CEto 1200 CE as Rajput or neo Kshatriya. In order to establish this they chose Prithviraj as their one of the hero and wrote an imaginary story of his valour and romance in Prithviraj Raso. The Delhi rulers of the time were ignored due to being secular and patronising Jains and Buddhist equally. The Raso author even got the Delhi rulers, the Tomaras dethroned by Prithviraj Chauhan whereas upto 1192, they were the sovereign kings. It was the Tomar king Chahad Pal Tomar who faced the Mohammed Ghauri in both the battles of Tarrain in 1191 and 1192. There is a seminal book written by Harihar Niwas Dwivedi of Gawaliar Dilli Ke Tomar, available on internet in PDF form free of cost . Prithvi Raj defeated Mohd Ghori 16 times and on every occasion Mohd Ghori prayed Prithvi Raj for pardon and Prithvi Raj let him go. Many soldiers of Prithvi Raj must have become martyrs in these 16 battles. Only once PritviRaj was defeated, on 17th battle by Mohd Ghori and then there was no action replay. Pruthviraj was killed brutally by Ghori and Ghori made footware from his skin and wore it with pride. Sanyogita was reportedly let in the hands of men from jungles who raped her repeatedly before dying miserably.
The story that Prithviraj killed Ghori despite being blinded is a pure myth. Even if it is assumed that the said story is true, still , it can be said that he was , at the most, a good sharp shooter but certainly not a responsible king who did not respect blood of his own soldiers. After his defeat, India was ruled by Muslims for next 800 years.
No need to eulogize this irresponsible king.
The real Hindu King was Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maharana Pratap who really deserves eulogies..

During the times of Prithviraj Chauhan, there was no concept of a nation-state. There was no India. It was a vast geographical region that was ruled by numerous independent kingdoms. He was a regional ruler based in Ajmer who ruled over areas that were adjacent to Ajmer. So when he fought against Muhammed Ghori, he was NOT fighting to save Hindus or India; instead, he was trying to SAVE his own kingdom.
He was not a capable ruler either, as after winning the first battle against Ghori, he did not pursue them and let them march back to Afghanistan. Moreover, against the advice of his own officials, he did not prepare his army for the possibility of Ghori coming again with better force. Finally, he also had bitter disputes with other Hindu rulers. All these factors led to his defeat and ultimately to his demise.

Also that he expanded his kingdom from Ajmer to Delhi in between defeating several princely states in modern Rajasthan and adjoining areas and that there were two Hindu rulers of his contemporary times, who aligned with Ghauri to fight him and that Raja Jaichand was opposed to Samrat Priviraj Chauhan and also the episode of Sanyongita...and that Chandbardai wrote this 12th Century saga in 16th Century mostly as glorified character of Prithviraj Chauhan , his fight with Ghauri, Jaichand and romance with Samyogita....but the question is why Chandbardai chose Prithviraj as his protogonist and not Jaichand or any other his contemporary ruler for his poetic work unless there was something special or great about him remembered by the masses even after more than three hundred years after his reign and that he got so inspired to write a great poetic work on him to seek acceptance for it among masses...just because many Indian rulers in pre Sultanate period didn't have that professional practice of writing history and anecdotes , Chronicles of their times in a very organized manner by the professional writers, we cannot completely ignore the Indian tradition of ballads , charans which may identified with much later traditions of kissagoes, through which great stories were kept alive among people.....so please don't completely disown the efforts which are aiming to look at history with another/ different perspective just because the founder of this platforn nurture a political ideology...balance is and objectivity is required from those who practiced journalism...thank you..
Dear Srivastva ji, After the death of Samrat Harshavardhan , the Manuvadi forces created and supported smaller kingdoms for their vested interests. From Samrat Bimbisar to Samrat Ashok and upto Samrat Harshavardhan, Buddhism was the main religion. The brahmanical forces got a chance of spreading their religion after the death of Harshavardhan in 647 CE. They supported a bunch of newly anointed rulers who in their turn agreed to follow and promote Brahmanvadi religion. Later on, some of these rulers were christened as Rajputs. It may be noted here that from Bimbisar in 6th century BCE to Harshavardhan in 7th century CE, none of the kings was a Kshatriya or Rajput in the brahmanical sense. In 16th century, the Brahmins realised that although they eulogised and propagated the Kshatriyas as Kings in their scriptures yet in recorded history, none of the rulers was from a Kshatriya clan as defined by them. Hence , they started calling the rulers propelled by them during 700 CEto 1200 CE as Rajput or neo Kshatriya. In order to establish this they chose Prithviraj as their one of the hero and wrote an imaginary story of his valour and romance in Prithviraj Raso. The Delhi rulers of the time were ignored due to being secular and patronising Jains and Buddhist equally. The Raso author even got the Delhi rulers, the Tomaras dethroned by Prithviraj Chauhan whereas upto 1192, they were the sovereign kings. It was the Tomar king Chahad Pal Tomar who faced the Mohammed Ghauri in both the battles of Tarrain in 1191 and 1192. There is a seminal book written by Harihar Niwas Dwivedi of Gawaliar Dilli Ke Tomar, available on internet in PDF form free of cost . This is a correct interpretation. What Chand Vardai has written is largely fictional. What Malik Muhammad Jaiysi wrote in Padmawat is largely fictional. We must rely more on historical records in the form of books, coins, inscriptions etcetera.
