Big Changes coming to Age of Sigmar - Age of Sigmar 4th Edition

- The rumours are true, with the announcement of Age of Sigmar 4th Edition we now know that it will be featuring both the Stormiest Eternals and The Skaven.
There are some big changes coming to Age of Sigmar and in this video we will look at the changes to the lore as well as what will happen to your Warhammer Age of Sigmar battle tomes.

You forgot to say that the new Stormcast from the Ruination chamber are the ones just hanging onto their humanity but they are the ones because of this able to walk into th chaos like seen at the end of the cinematic trailer!!

I am... cautious. I escaped to AoS from 40k 10th edition (which murdered my Death guard horrendously and didn't even let the corpse rot) and don't want to see the same ruination befall AoS.
Totally agree and get you being cautious - I’m hoping lessons have been learnt.
I'm gonna post this on every AOS 4th vid to see what others think: i thought the trailer was awesome but I've never seen developers talk about a game where it got worse and worse and WORSE as they kept talking. I feel bad for the AOS community. Anyone else? Gor or bad?
Appreciate the message - I think there is going to be a lot of apprehension. Do I think the game needed to go to the same level as what they did with 10th 40K and go indexes - No, but I am hoping lessons have been learnt from last year and that we have a positive experience, I am going to completely reserve judgement until I’ve seen the rules and played some games.
I actually really happy for the changes and revamp announced. It sounds like what I was hoping for.
Apprehension, yeah I'd say almost a palpable sadness 😅 I really didn't want them to rewrite the game "from the ground up", I hoped they would just slim the current game down a bit. Wide sweeping changes are always a very big risk, and I am afraid to lose the good game that they have already built for us.
More than that, personally, as a casual "garage player" I hate that the new edition will invalidate the current rules that I've collected. Rulebooks and warscroll cards (that are not cheap!) will truly be useless this time around. Before, when playing with friends and family, you could always use the outdated battletome you had access to and just mix in new releases by their individual warscrolls. Warscrolls have been essentially the same format since 1st.
I agree with you about the rules, I don’t think they needed a complete rewrite, just a few tweaks.
But I’m hoping that they will do a good job, the next few months when we get more information, and then eventually some games in I hope people are happy and it’s in a good place.
@@knightofthetabletop I agree that we have to be patient. There's also the very real possibility that changes are not so sweeping as they make them sound in the promotions. There is such a thing as marketing of course :)
Apprehensive. I left 40k back when 3rd started and havent looked back. Making aos more like 40k is a massive step backwards with indexes and homogenized rules.
I get the apprehension- feeling it myself, didn’t think the game needed as much work. Just hoping they get this right.
@@knightofthetabletop Agreed. I feel like it was perfect as is. Simpler than 40k in 9th, and still has complexity.
10th is a great edition. 7-9th were not good for the game. but GW seems to have learned and done a good job with 10th. GW rules writers seem to have learned and 4th should be good.

How can GW technically do this? Like, “Sorry guys, but the Old World is thirsty for blood and miniatures, so all the Beastmen in the infinite universe of the Mortal Realms suddenly died of a heart attack"??
I agree with you. It’s just a rumour but it’s one that has been banded about by a lot of people.
I think if they do decide to lose the beastmen it will be a massive shame. They could do so much more with them as a faction than what they currently do.
@@knightofthetabletop GW's bureaucracy "0ne model - 0ne game system" is beyond good and evil. Imagine if the iconic Leman Russ tank was removed from 40k because here is new model for the Solar Auxilaria only. GW would have received a riot from IG players... whom it would have ignored.

excited. No reason to be apprehensive. 10th edition is probably the best 40k edition and if GW can do the same with 4th it will be great. Army rules/points can be adjusted. So, as long as the core rules are good, which I anticipate they will be given 10th, it'll be a good edition.
I’m really looking forward to the build up now - will be a good time for new players to hop in when 4th also drops.
Really hoping AOS⁴ is beginner friendly. My GF loves the sylverneth models, but has never played a game.

Perfect time to jump in - I reckon it will be very beginner friendly. Especially with spearhead
