As someone who plays 2+ games a week I at first was anxious about the revamp. Then was doing prep for our clubs intro sessions and oof a lot of things I know like why one drops are important(or list building in general), bespoke rulings and changes in battlescroll updates make it quite hard for someone totally new to the hobby. In the end it's the same team that gave us AoS 3 which was spectacular imo, I'm trying to trust in them they've smashed it every edition so far.
Same, just packed in 10th to get into AoS, now I see 4th is coming I'm worried. One hope I have is that they have different game designers, however... corporate business men might stick their Oar in.
I have been supporting this company now since 1989 and I feel like I have seen and played it al. (their best years between 1999-2008). I am tired of the money treadmill...tired of getting a new army book and its obsolete when you get home. Im tired of the 2-3 yr. edition cycle of everything. It feels like they cant meet the demands of costumers now because they are spread so thin. In short, I guess Im just tired of games workshop. Hopefully, many of you will find this as well as future releases of your favorite products to be as exciting as I have through the years. Good luck and happy gaming everybody!
I want a much much simpler game. I'm married, wife and I both work, and we have two boys. Want something super simple to learn, but then attain strategic depth as time goes on. I've always wanted to get into AOS, so hopefully the new rules will be friendly for newbies. I do play Necromunda as an FYI. I just subscribed BTW, great channel!
The fact this is set in Aqshy gives me so much hope for the Chaos Duardin leak being true. Because the Legion of Azgorh was said a lot to be here in Aqshy, among other places that they've been referenced in 2e and 3e.
They did, in the Titanicus variant Needless to say, one is not really better than the other. Alpha strike will always be a problem, even in alternating.
No it's really not. Being able to shoot one unit once is not comparable to being able to shoot your entire army before the opponent can respond. @@Dareword
There are already other gaming systems that do. And frankly it's better. In the same way moving away from templates was an improvement in Warhammer. Not to say all change is good but not all change is bad.@@spacemanx9595
I'm cautious. The weapon range is probably a favourite mechanic of mine since its simple yet deep. Thay part damages my hopes but i won't be negative. I just hope ill be proven wrong.
Eagerly awaiting info on the changes to the double turn. Love it or hate it, you can't deny the double turn's reputation can turn people off ever trying AOS in the first place.
I'm not usually one to be cynical, but seeing how 40k is going. I'm not liking our chances now, especially their new focus becoming a worldwide sensation. There will be a lot of selling out and character loss overall
I would be much happier if old fantasy miniatures were more supported in Age of Sigmar. Most of my collection is classic fantasy models on round bases adapted for the Mortal Realms. Generic fantasy orcs hold a special place in my heart. Years ago, these plastic models were crazy cheap and were everywhere. I bought a lot of them for 40k conversions. Then Wargammer Age of Sigmar came out and I was fascinated. My first army was the Greenskinz. Then GW removed this faction, even though it was selling Start Collecting! Greenskinz. What a disgrace.
Honestly excited for the new edition cuz it’s gonna be finally my time to join AoS, BUT I am worried how will building an army will change in this new edition. Before the new edition reveal, I was preparing my Seraphon to run as a Fangs of Sotek army, but the info got me wondering if my focus on that subfaction is obsolete.
Totally agree. Also, when new rules come out there are usually pockets of stores/people that play the prior edition for a while. Invest in what you like and find likeminded people.
Based on the trailer and possible updated minis it looks like they are updating the Dominion half of the Stormcast and the Isle of Blood Skaven. Plus tossing a few additional things too. I’m super excited about the new edition.
It all sounds promising once you realize there testing on 4th only gw staff could play it. So most input would just be gw staff. So depending on how it gose . Hopefully not just a bunch of yess men
GW better be giving more new units as what's shown if f all in terms of Stormcast for a launch boxset. 1 leader on griffwn, 1 leader on foot, 3 elites, 3 new flying things, 10 liberators (who aren't part of the new chamber) they would have to double up the elites or flyers!!!!!
Man I’m hyped for this. I haven’t played AoS since the start of version 2.0. It may even get me back playing again. I also might actually go ahead and paint my SCE army.
I'm conflicted overall really excited about the new edition because I generally appose simplification as in 40k we have lost psychic powers something that's been apart of 40k for a very long time, so I'm concerned we might loose spellcasting and prayers in AoS for the sake of simplification
Don't worry dude, GW released an article saying that they are gonna keep spell lores, so spellcasting will still be the thing and the it will probs be the same for prayers
@@DezLooca They are just treated as buffs and/or extra weapons instead of a whole category of their own In 8th and 9th Psyker was a key element to the army. sniping him was usually a huge fking deal In 10th you can just ignore him and/or treat him like any other hero without much worry
I've been interested in Warhammer for years now and know the lore well enough, but actually getting into the game has been a daunting task (not to mention expensive). That said, perhaps this revamping to make it more accessible is the perfect time to take the leap, especially when the coming season seems to be focused around my favorite faction.
Yeah, I totally get that. I think Spearhead might be the thing for you - quick games at a low cost point - and then, if you want to build your army up from there, you can. 😁
the idea is simplifying is great. warhammer is generally seen as an uber nerdy hobby with a ridiculously high barrier to entry. im hoping they keep the strategic nuance while making the game more accessible. fingers crossed that if it means a huge influx in new players itll mean they dont charge is ten billion pounds for a few plastic minis anymore. maybe just 6 billion pounds? make it easier to get into, make it more affordable, try to shake off the neckbeard stigma and itll be better for all of us. more places to play the game etc.
100% agree! And I think that’s what Games Workshop care about most - they want more people enjoying the hobby, even if each buys fewer models, because that makes for a far better community. 😁
@@TabletopTom indeed. GW get a bad rep at times for ripping us off and only caring about money. I think its a balance between it being a business and a hobby, and while I agree it is far too expensive, i hope their hearts are in the right place. id love to be able to have a few games with my kid should i ever have one!
When has warhammer ever become more affordable? 😂 don't make me laugh. My entire friend group has gone 3rd party and not going back. 55 euros for 5 blood knights?? What the hell?
@shadowsift it hasnt. My point was im sipping hopium that the rules simplification will make the game more accessable to new players. Which in turn may mean less price gouging
If they remake rat ogres it will be: No pose-ability Two different weapons to choose from And three heads. I hope to god they just keep what they had but with new molds. How you make old rat ogres, vargheists etc from fantasy is tops
Happy for the new edition 3rd just wasnt great for me. The seasonal battalions and stuff was awful.l. but inliked the monster actions and stuff. Chars joining units granting buffs would be nice. Little worried on it being easier for new people as if Aos wasnt easy enough to get into its rules are not very hard.
no it's removing tactical depth in my opinion. like if you can just hit everything in 3 than screening will be useless and if its only b2b than your screen has to be wiped out compleatly for your unit in the back to pile in instead of attacking from the back with speers

Like the old world? Or 40k 10th ed?
I fled 40k to AoS because of the direction 9th and now 10th went...I'm highly nervous about the new edition. Trying to stay cautiously optimistic

Hang on. Won’t that mean that flesh eater courts army book will be redundant within 12 months of release?
Less than 6 months if you bought the normal version 😅
@@TabletopTom I guess they are now putting new business above customers of 6 months standing. Very telling.

100% agree. That new Clawleader certainly makes it more likely 🤞🏻
If you believe the leaks, then we're going to get wolf rat resculpts.
stormvermin mounted on wolf rats....i wish
Alpha strike is still too strong.
Still disappointed GW haven’t adopted alternating activations yet…
They did, in the Titanicus variant
Needless to say, one is not really better than the other.

Alternating activation is not aos/40k. Sorry, go somewhere else with that
