I reckon you have the best channel on TH-cam Scout, it’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. I was watching this while my wife was sewing and she said she is jealous that you have a poor man’s flea market since we live rural and only a couple neighbors. My wife didn’t understand my excitement when I saw the spark plugs when you opened the box, it reminded me of going in my grandfathers garage to find a new one for projects we were working on.
A great couple of finds there John and the transformation with the 50:50 is amazing, I've had new machines that sound much worse than that ! There are not many people who would be delighted to open a cigar box and find a load of used spark plugs, glad they found a good home ! The dog mask is a hoot ! 😉
I lived in a apartment years ago and they were removing all of the rotting fiber siding. Cockroaches started showing up around the sliding glass doors. I worked at a large label factory as second shift supervisor. One day at our shift change meeting I opened up my briefcase and a roach jumped out and onto the conference table. I swiped it on the floor and smashed it and looked up to see if anyone was looking ,8 people were staring at me. I went to my office and called my brother who was a certified exterminator and he went to my apartment and sprayed and I didnt have any more. I was so telling them all it was from outside not me being dirty. Great finds on your walk, I would have grabbed all the free wood.
Wow! 50-50 is incredible! My mother used to tell a story about playing "pocketbook" when she was a kid. Her brothers and sisters would tie a long string to a pocketbook, set it in the road and hide in the ditch holding the string. When someone pulled up in a car to pick up the pocketbook, they'd snatch it away from them at the last second. They had to run away from an angry person, more than once. Great show! Love the mask!
I love hearing your reaction to the after on the 50/50, like a kid! And then you said I should patent this......"If only I invented it" I spit my coffee out laughing at that. Great episode thanks for sharing.
Thanks to you, John, I have a spray bottle of 50/50 at the ready. It’s so much cheaper than any penetrating fluid you can buy and I never scruple about not being stingy with it. Just one of the many useful things I have learned from your outstanding channel! (By the way, my wife also really enjoys the channel and claims that you must have many more than 50 C-Clamps. 🙂). I’m afraid to count mine. Never enough!
Yes, yes, to the water bowls for the wildlife. We moved from the city to a few acres in the boonies in Central Texas when we retired. Now our neighbors are deer, foxes, turkey, raccoons, squirrels and birds. We keep the water, seed and feed bowls full and the animals keep us entertained. Win-win.
You told me about the 50-50 a year or so ago. I gave it a try, but didn’t think much of it. A couple of months ago you were talking about it again and I thought. “well let me give it another shot! “. At this point, I use that stuff on everything! It has replaced nearly all of my oils that I use. It’s the greatest thing since sliced bread John. Thank you for sharing that tip.
Great video 👍 What a cool box of 📦 vintage spark⚡️plugs. That Leonard air cooled spark plug box looks like it is in good condition, Was the plug inside? Those 4 Champion spark ⚡️plugs cleaned up beautifully, great job. That Poor Man’s Flea Market is Gold 🟡! 👍 Those Jenga blocks make good craft projects. That Black & Decker edger was a great find. I think it will clean up great. I also think it will be a great project for the show. That 50/50 did the trick in quieting that bearing. I was glad you wasn’t stingy with the 50/50😂😂👍. I think you should bottle it and sell it on the market 😃👍. That makeup case is a great find for putting drill bits and what not in it also small tools 🛠 that is not to heavy. That is a great idea 💡 to put a fresh mat in the trays . Those cheap Harbor freight toolbox 🧰 mats would also work. Another great shot of Old Glory🇺🇸flying in the breeze. Well again great video and can’t wait to see what you do on Monday. Have a great evening and fantastic weekend. 😃👍👍
Great show John! My son in law is a mechanic for a car dealership and works on my vehicle. He was over at the house working on my car and wanted to know if I had something for some rust nuts. I gave him 50/50. Now he uses it at work 😂. I leave water out for my squirrels and any other varmit. It’s an outside dog dish and has a heater so in the winter it won’t freeze. Nice poor man’s finds too. Thank You for sharing. Have a great weekend.
Dollar Tree also has a similar product that comes in squares and has an adhesive backing. I used it to turn a cigar box into a pocketknife display/storage box. Turned out nice. Love the PMFM!
Great show all the way, ScoutCrafter. It was nice seeing that "C" clamp again. Nice looking tool. I think I would have used gloves going into the grungy make-up case. Thanks for a great show.
John that makeup case is very cool! I love stuff like that. Believe it or not I have more cases, boxes and zipper cases than I have stuff to put in them. Weird but somehow satisfying!
I would love to get some official Scoutcrafter merch. Such as a T-shirt.... "Scoutcrafter" Don't be stingy... With the 50/50 "Scoutcrafter" You know my favorite part....
Lol....that wagon is too funny. I gave a 75 year old plumber buddy of mine a bottle of 50/50, he wipes his tools down after every use....he says it's the best his tools have ever looked and operated. Great stuff. Cheers
When I saw that edge trimmer on your walk it brought back memories from childhood. My dad had a B&D, but more from the 70’s. I loved getting to use it, the power you held in your hand was unmatched as a kid. I just knew that was coming home with you. Thanks for another great video. I’m off to mix up a batch of 50/50 this weekend.
The poor man’s flea market (PMFM) is alive a well in many areas. I walk behind an industrial area and one of the businesses sells and install appliances. The broken washers, dryers, microwaves etc are returned and when they get a truck load they are hauled away. I regularly salvage heavy duty 6ft - 8ft power cords that make excellent extension cords in my shop.
While I always look forward to each and every one of your shows, I've come to really like the poor man's flea market segments. It's so good you could actually make a spin-off series (channel) just on that if you had nothing else to do in your life, lol. Keep up the great work, have a nice weekend, and thanks for pushing the benefits of 50/50!
That mask turns you into a junkyard dog, lol. probably can replace the swivel wheels with fixed ones to make it go straight. Thanks for another great episode John!
I found one of those cases a while back that we opened on my channel. It was bigger and has wheels. It was filled with stage make up, fake eyes, etc. it now holds my model paints and tons of tools for building scale models. Great job on the spark plugs. If you’re not busy Sunday the Sussex County Hamfest at the Sussex Fairgrounds her in NJ is happening. I wonder if I’ll find treasures? Don’t be stingy with the 50/50
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for wheels on that edger. What a difference that 50/50 made, your reaction cracked me up. I mixed some up on your recommendation and it really is great!
Always enjoyed going thru those boxes or cases bought at a garage sale or flea market, kind of like a mini Christmas. Your neighbor hood furry friends sure must love your thoughtfulness, fun to see the cam shots of the visitors. Nice spark plug selection you have there young man. Thanks for the video, enjoyed the comments and watching.
Love the 50/50! In the shooter/gun world, 50/50 is known as Ed's Red. I've been using it for years! You can actually buy the stuff from Brownells, but it is WAY cheaper to mix your own. See you Monday!
I’ll bet you don’t need to take the edger apart. My friend had a military 4 cylinder water pump that was froze up. 50/50 to the rescue. Good stuff. If I open your show and you’re wearing make up and decorated with ear and nose rings I’m referring you for help. LOL! I think that case would be a good display for old sparkies spark plugs, you know you do make a good idol for the man cave shops. You can have cold one on me my friend, you deserve it! Thank You
I use the 50 50. I recently used it on the leaf springs of a light duty trailer that had been in a salt water environment. The trailer itself was galvanized and is 35 years old. Galvanizing really protected the trailer, but I've been repeat shooting 50 50 between the spring leaves and on bolts where needed. I think it has helped with the springs. Your videos on different lubes have been really informative. I really like the poor mans flea market. I would have grabbed the case of wooden blocks. If you dont want to play the game, you would have 7some great shop material.
Seeing the inside of that box: where was that fairy tale born that ladies are the neat gender? Anyway, it would be nice seeing your favorite sparkplugs displayed! In that box or in general really.
Awesome poor man’s flea market haul and so correct about the 50/50 I have turned on some people to it in my lantern group to free up stuck lantern parts 👍
Good find on the makeup case and edger. I'm a believer in the 50/50 as well as the other 50-50's. Having a box of spark plugs like that creates "fill-in" projects for those time when we want to work in the shop but don't want to get heavy into a project. 🙂👍
ScoutCrafter, You should have taken the Jenga game. Hardwood prices have gone out the window. Plus you can glue them together with your new C-clamp to make for tool mounts. I forgot to say my wife leaves water out for the following wildlife; feral cats, cats, rabbits, squirrels, deer, possum, ground hogs, birds, and skunk. Bob
I live in an apartment complex. So i don’t have an edger, but i do a little donation time using my reciprocating saw as an edger. Works great and fast. You just have to be leaning over for a minute.
John, try some Woolite Heavy Trafic Carpet Spray Cleaner on the stains in that box. I think you may be surprised at the results. It cleans carpet and appolstry extremely well.
That stuff in the box would have been great to have and drop in some of your buddies tool sells and then ask what they are doing with that. Lol. Great show and great fix on the edger.
Scout! Get you a critter cam set up! I would love to have that addition to the end of videos or something! Would be awsome! I'm going to be shocked if you don't already have a collection of trail cams laying around hahaha!
Love your midnight walks and all the finds. Makes me wish I was back on the job!! Don’t wear that dog’s head in front of your cats you’ll scare the crap out of them !
I learned about 50/50 from you and have been a believer ever since. Great stuff! I had an electric edger once and was very disappointed on its performance. Use a string trimmer now. Thanks
Animals! Especially baby animals! Great C-clamp! I was thinking that you should drill and tap a sheet of 1/4" aluminum to hold your plug collection and hang it!
Hey John, great show... Those are not the correct wheels for the edger. Yes, I have one of them and it has two larger wheels mounted in that space. Still works like a charm and has a lot of power....
Okay John ya finally got me! I mean, I believed you about the 50-50, but this video really highlighted the power of your concoction! Making up some this weekend.....I just gotta track down my acetone, it might be over at my latest job site......that stuff has gotten a tad on the too many $$$ side...........for that matter, so has the oil, but I have a bunch of odd ball mostly full bottles of ATF.
Hi Scoutcrafter there used to be a commercial on TV the kid would open his lunch and the kid didn't like what he got they called it lunch bag let down. I have a couple of masks one is a poop emoji I went to the door on Halloween with it on a couple of times.
Are you going to Zagary's again next weekend?? I am- Tucker and I had a fantastic time. We are definitely going again. I would highly recommend it to anyone less than 2 hrs away.
I’m definitely going to make up some 50/50, that was impressive, also I was wondering about the spark plugs that you cleaned up, they looked liked they had two different wrench sizes with inner threads if so do they come apart just wandering, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Somebody thinks he is living a dog's life. Those makeup brushes are good things to have in the shop. I think the black from evaporust is carbon. Most of what I do after soaking in it is to hold it under running water and the dry it with a shop rag. If there is hard to get areas then I use there air compressor. Once dry and kept away from moisture they don't rust any more. Get a bit of humidity and you had better of coated it a protector. I would have taken the blocks of wood. If I didn't use the game then the wood is still valuable.
Very cool video S.C.. That diaper case sounds like something that i would do... I have been thinking about mixing up a batch of 50-50... I was wondering where you buy your Acetone from.. a gallon would probably last me a lifetime... Very funny episode today...thx for sharing...
Hey John, wonder if someone made that wheel set up for that edger. Never seen anything so ridiculous on a edger. Make up case was a great find. Great video, have a good weekend, stay cool.
I wonder if the edger wheels have been added at a later date? The fact that nothing else is rusted to the extent that they are and the simple clamp on attachment.
Jacktown July 19, 20, 21 Hello, I was thinking of going to the Jacktown show next weekend. Is this a good time to go or is the October event a better time to go? Any tips or suggestions for a first time Jacktown Show visitor? Thanks for your help and keep those videos coming. The best on TH-cam for the tool lover. Thanks again.
Scott- Next week is both Jacktown and Zagray farm museum shows- both awesome shows but it does get hot- Jacktown has more shade and events. Every show at Jacktown is great and slightly different. The summer show has a smaller flea market but more events like tractor pulls and sawmill…. It’s almost 2 hours away for me but worth it! 😃👍
@@ScoutCrafter Looks like those wheels may have been added to it, maybe to edge around a small circle like a fountain or something. These are the things that will keep me up at night! Lol
I’ve been a 50/50 convert from the time you mentioned it but have had a difficult time using it in spray bottles. I’ve tried the Zep as I think you use but it seems to eventually leak or erode the sprayer. Any advice? Or do we just chase our tail with it as it’s such a good solvent? thanks! Mike
Mike- The only drawback with the 50-50 is finding a good bottle sprayer that will work. My zip bottle held up, but always gets shrunk between uses. 🫣😂👍

I forgot to say my wife leaves water out for the following wildlife; feral cats, cats, rabbits, squirrels, deer, possum, ground hogs, birds, and skunk.
Bob
Bob- I really wanted to grab the blocks but I’m so overloaded I have to eventually draw the line. 😂👍
@@ScoutCrafter That is what the wagon was for.
John, that lubricant is incredible, but your saying should be, Don't be THRIFTY with the 50-50! What do you think?
I’m finally going to make a batch of 50/50. Great episode 🫡
You are going to absolutely love it! Just don’t fill the spray bottle above half and shake before use. 😃👍
That 50/50 mix is a game changer. I have been using it a few years now after seeing your videos.
That 50/50 is amazing...That box would make a great tackle box...🖖
That stuff in the box would have been great to have and drop in some of your buddies tool sells and then ask what they are doing with that. Lol.
Great show and great fix on the edger.
I have a creek on my property and 2 large ponds on my neighbors property. Wildlife is well watered 💦
Creeks are awesome. Brooks too! Running water adds a whole different atmosphere. 😃👍
Scout! Get you a critter cam set up! I would love to have that addition to the end of videos or something! Would be awsome! I'm going to be shocked if you don't already have a collection of trail cams laying around hahaha!
Nothing beter than live and at the seen
You are mine number one Scout! Thanks!
Love your midnight walks and all the finds. Makes me wish I was back on the job!!
Don’t wear that dog’s head in front of your cats you’ll scare the crap out of them !
Frank- I put the mask on and peered around a wall at my cats! They wanted no part of me! 😂😂😂
Can 't wait to see the edger fixed up!
I learned about 50/50 from you and have been a believer ever since. Great stuff! I had an electric edger once and was very disappointed on its performance. Use a string trimmer now. Thanks
Tony- I use a string trimmer but I’m all over the place! 🫣😂👍
Animals! Especially baby animals! Great C-clamp! I was thinking that you should drill and tap a sheet of 1/4" aluminum to hold your plug collection and hang it!
Very nice video.
The 50-50 really works!!!
Loved the Friday mosh John really cool stuff that 50/50 has saved my life on many occasions amazing how it works god bless take care 🇳🇿🇺🇸🦅😱🗡️47/FJB
Hey John, great show... Those are not the correct wheels for the edger. Yes, I have one of them and it has two larger wheels mounted in that space. Still works like a charm and has a lot of power....
Nice poor-mans flea market haul. So many ways that make-up case can be used for shop storage.
Dave.
Lowes and Home Depot also sell acetone . 😃👍
Marking the blade position, on the guard, with a dot of paint will help you guide the edger from behind.
This whole video is gold, thank you
You could use the case to organize all your model paints and brushes and stuff for when you take a tool over the top!
Interesting video as ever. Thanks for taking me around your Poormens fleamarket.
Hi Scoutcrafter there used to be a commercial on TV the kid would open his lunch and the kid didn't like what he got they called it lunch bag let down. I have a couple of masks one is a poop emoji I went to the door on Halloween with it on a couple of times.
It would be easier to turn the edger into the type that has just one big wheel
Are you going to Zagary's again next weekend??
I am- Tucker and I had a fantastic time. We are definitely going again. I would highly recommend it to anyone less than 2 hrs away.
I hope so- it’s the same weekend as Jacktown so usually I let the weather decide. 😃👍
The wheels were added later in life
TGIF and for you.
John's WaterHole, last chance for water for the next many miles, thxs for caring
Thanks Scout
14:14 Every fisherman could use that case for fishing tackle!
Edger is cool!
Good finds on the poor man's flee market
Now you just need to find a skateboard in the poor-man's flea market to mount your edger on.
You gotta wear that mask out on your walks from now on. 🐺
I’m definitely going to make up some 50/50, that was impressive, also I was wondering about the spark plugs that you cleaned up, they looked liked they had two different wrench sizes with inner threads if so do they come apart just wandering, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Yes Those older plugs were designed so you could replace just the electrode if you wanted! 😂👍
Elf is a good make-up brand!
Philip I wanted the blocks but I kept thinking of the room they take up! 😂👍
@@ScoutCrafter You need a new shed. 🤣
Very cool video S.C.. That diaper case sounds like something that i would do...
I have been thinking about mixing up a batch of 50-50... I was wondering where you buy your Acetone from.. a gallon would probably last me a lifetime... Very funny episode today...thx for sharing...
Gary- Lowe’s or Home Depot for the Acetone and the dollar store for the ATF- also pick up a ZEP polyethylene bottle. 😃👍
@@ScoutCrafter will do, thanks for sharing...
Hey John, wonder if someone made that wheel set up for that edger. Never seen anything so ridiculous on a edger. Make up case was a great find. Great video, have a good weekend, stay cool.
Maybe- I tried looking up the model U-275 but no luck. 😃👍
@@ScoutCrafter Me too, no luck.
I wonder if the edger wheels have been added at a later date? The fact that nothing else is rusted to the extent that they are and the simple clamp on attachment.
Me too! 😃👍
Jacktown July 19, 20, 21
Hello, I was thinking of going to the Jacktown show next weekend.
The wheels swivel because, except in thr city, a lot of edges are on curves around beds and trees. You can't do curves if you can't turn.
Lol...fun one! 😊
2:00 at least it's not a whole body costume.
Champion R-1 Studebaker for one.
Could that edger have once been a tiller? It looks like the guard can be adjusted wider to accept a tiller blade.
Just a guess, it's an odd thing
I have to look it up on an old B&D catalog. 🤔😃👍
@@ScoutCrafter Looks like those wheels may have been added to it, maybe to edge around a small circle like a fountain or something.
These are the things that will keep me up at night! Lol
Great demo for 50/50. Just curious how did you discover it?
Dale- It is a very old mix that I saw some firearm guy make on TH-cam years back. I too was hesitant to try it but it’s unbelievable!
Thanks. I’ll keep at it! Definitely worth the effort
I have a batch of 50/50
The Black stuff is carbon/ Metal oxide
For some reason it’s incredibly hard to get off your skin! 😂👍
Roaches very funny stuff
I think uwannawatch's bears head would totally freak the cats 10 x what this one does 😂😂😂😂
When you said “half acetone” and didn’t finish the sentence…😂
