My older sister used to listen to this on the radio in the 70s. It was old already of course but some radio station was playing them late at night and she loved them she was about 15 or 16 at the time.
My mom used to listen to cassette tape recordings of this show and others. I still wish I could find the Fibber McGee episode where Nick tries to recount the Paul Revere poem ("Paul Revolver") and says of someone's bag of firecrackers, "He's going to cele-brighten the Declaration of Independence a little pre-ma-shortly."
This is the time Molly was in the hospital/ tx for alcoholism. She came back in 1940 and did not drink again. Did Molly know Bill and Bob? 📒 M. Illinois
In the first episode, there's a character named "Syl"(short for Sylvester?) that I have never heard before. It sounds like Syl is portrayed by a white actor imitating a black person in the stereotypical manner of the time. Does anyone have information about this character? Perhaps he only appeared during the "Fibber McGee and Company" period of the show when Molly was away.
Hugh Studebaker played Sylvius (Silly) Watson on several episodes, most when Marian Jordan was absent. Studebaker did a lot of radio work in the Chicago area and did not make the move to the west coast when the show moved.
@williamharrison7961 Thanks for that information. So, when exactly did they move to California? I thought Marion Jordan's absence occurred after they left Chicago.

Lone ranger radio show
Thank you for the show. Why are the musical interludes deleted? Copyright issues? Thanks.

Always a fun time😀!
You got that right!
Fibber looks a little like a very young Les Paul.
Thanks for the great video. It’s great to hear them in order. Are you going to do a part 5?
Yes, soon
