Hello Phillip. Thank you for your comment and kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Take Care Jim.
Enjoyed the video Jim. It's good to have you back.
Hello Dennis, its nice you noticed I was gone. I had a TIA Stroke in Feb this year (2023). It was only a small stroke didn't affect my motor functions, but did remove certain memories, I couldn't remember how to use my cameras or the computer. Also the control boxes for the TV had become a mystery. Since then I have been retraining myself. You may have noticed I updated and republished the bedroom unit videos. I did this as it was easier for me to work out how to modify something, than start a new video from scratch. It worked. I now feel at home using the camera and the computer once more. I'm still having trouble with the TV box though! Thank you for your comment. Take Care Jim.
I'm glad that the stroke was a small one Jim. I imagine it was very frustrating re-learning those skills. I look forward to more videos from you. @@CYC123
thank you sir, or should i call you Doctor ?
Hello Brian. Thank you for your comment, I'm no doctor, just a chap with a workshop in his garden. So glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks again for your comment. Take Care Jim
Is there a good way to sharpen files without heating?
Hello Thomas. I have never tried to sharpen a file. I have seen on the internet and TH-cam people acid dipping the files which they say brings back the sharp edge, but I suspect its only temporary, probably not as good as it was when it was new. Best thing is to replace the file, if too expensive try garage sales or boot sales. I have picked up some bargains in such places. Take Care Jim.
@@CYC123 Thank you.
I have never heard of the vinegar method. I only know about taking the temper out, sharpening then re-tempering .
I'm gonna say my blacksmithing skills are a little lacking in the file tempering arena.😎
A great, no nonsense description of how to clean a file and why.
Hello James. Thank you for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Take Care Jim.
