Just finished this dungeon with the help of the guide, stopped before last boss tho cause i felt something was up so was a little stressful. Started SB now, lets see how that goes. Great guide

Great guide. Just wish it had been edited for the spoiler reveal.

Guides themselves are essentially spoilers for whatever the guide is for so didn't see a point in hiding it. I'll keep it in mind going forward though.

one thing i liked about world of warcraft was that completing a dungeon usually wasn't necessary to continue the story. it was just a side thing you could, or not do. being gated by dungeons in ff14 in order to continue is awful.

That is true in some regards but FF14 is much more story driven then WoW ever was. So while they do gate you behind dungeons it is for a story progression purpose. A lot more design and development goes into their dungeons for that purpose which makes me appreciate them a lot more then any WoW dungeon I ever did.

@@omoddulus4933 I respect your opinion and the time you took to type it out. But the thing is, players run dungeons all the time in WoW. That’s where most of the better gear is, so that’s where the incentive lies to do them.
But my point is they’re optional. You can still play the game, do the quests and unfold the story without being tied down to a mechanic that prevents you from progressing. If you’re not a particularly good player, or get a continuous run of bad luck with team members, you can’t complete the dungeon. So you can’t continue the story. That’s unfair. And the very concept of FF14 being “story driven” is rendered moot by the fact that you can’t progress the story.

Dungeons have a place in any MMO no matter if they are mandatory or not. I agree that them being mandatory does fit a Final Fantasy game that is much more story driven then a regular MMO though. That is true for all Final Fantasy games. If your just wanting a slugfest MMO where you do whatever you want then I agree any other MMO is probably better. I still wouldnt recommend WoW to anyone at the moment though no matter what type of game you want.

True that's one of the reasons I think they should add the trust system to earlier dungeon where you can run them alone if you want. At the end of the day though it's a MMO at its core so they should be some interaction among players even if your mostly a solo player. I've personally never ran into a instance where something could not be completed even when almost ignoring every single mechanic. At least not for anything that wasnt the most recent expansion.

@@DemonSlayerGaming1 I agree with you there. WoW is a complete mess. And the company is being run into the ground. They forgot what it was all about just to chase that mighty dollar.
