    I'm working on my etsy listing titles. I used the same kind of titles as everyone else with a comma between every keywords. I read the etsy hand book and they say short titles in sentence form is best. So I'm going to try that because I have 350 listings and I'm only getting 5 views a day.

    Thank you for your wonderful video! I have two questions:
    1. Now in tittle better use comas or try to create text without any “,./;” marks?
    2. Etsy use for products search information from titles, tags and descriptions in the same time? And better not all places write the same keywords? It’s very confusing now how to do. In tags also need create everyone of them unique without words repeating?
    Thank you 🙏

      It might be a regional thing? Definitely put all options in your tags. What is the title of the category that etsy gives you when you pick your category?

    IMO, Etsy hides some sellers PAID listings, while charging sellers listing fees to show them to buyers. Buyers may end up paying more for items because they never find some things that are actually cheaper. You're not supposed to know. Lots of sellers are discussing this on social media venues, and can easily prove it. Some sellers cant even find their own items (that they paid listing fees for) in their own Etsy Storefront, so there's no way buyers will ever find those items in Etsy's search either.
    The only thing that would make Etsy change its ways is probably a multi-billion dollar class action lawsuit for charging sellers money to show their listings, but knowingly hiding those listings instead.

    Should you repeat words on tags? ie Christmas Gift, Christmas Shirt

    So how could you show up in other searches when it's a specific item. What else would someone search for if they're looking for an oxidized silver ring?

      Wedding ring, men's ring, etc etc

    Hello Jess! Here is the title for our number 1 selling item (it's a pillow cover design for people who work in the film industry):
    Gifts for Filmmakers, TV Producer Gift, Show Runner, Film Editor Gift, Calibration Bars Pillow, Cinematograher Gift, Production House Decor

    • @JessVanDen
      @JessVanDen  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      First - I generally advise that you don't mess with bestsellers ;) In this case, You could literally just remove the 'gift' over and over without really changing the rest of it. 'Gift for Filmmakers, TV Producers, Show Runners, Film Editors, Cinematograhers. Calibration Bars Pillow. Production House Decor. (Thought I would fix cinematographers, it's misspelt!)
      Also - what are 'calibration bars' - is there a 'normie' term for this that someone not in the industry might use to search for it?

      @@JessVanDen that would destroy the listing, the reason its so popular is BECAUSE it hits several long tail keywords with EXACT matches. if they follow your advice they will break thei listing. this listing is checkmate to this video actually.. no no no...

      @@ritchiedee6210I was thinking the same thing... If we abbreviate the tags this way, wouldn't it disrupt the competitive balance of the tag? Don't I need to write the long-tail and low-competition tag as a whole for it to be effective? I thought about this today and couldn't figure it out. What do you think about this matter?

    • @ritchiedee6210
      @ritchiedee6210 ปีที่แล้ว

      copy the listing then try your testing if you want, that way you dont break the first one thats working..@@elif-vc3qw

    nonsense its different for every listing. if you had not put art in there 3 times then you would not have hit the exact phrase, so you didnt get the boost on the listing. so while its a waste, its not always a waste. especially if its an item that doesnt have multiple ways of saying the same thing to target multiple LTK. so yeah try not to waste space, but also repeating keyworkds increases your chance of hitting exact matches something she brings up in this video but fails to realize why that very point makes the video not really true always.. or even MOST of the time. so put your no no no finger at yourself lady.. this is actually bad advice.

    Now is it okay to use different spellings of the same word, especially since Etsy "bots" refuse to figure out the difference.
    Example: grey wool kippah gets lumped in with wire (metal) kippot and other metal spherical items. Crocheted yarmulke (which is what a kippa is). Kippot which is multiple kipa.
    And then Etsy cannot tell the difference between "wool" and "cotton" or "camel", camel hair and sometimes, caramel.
    I thought they were trying to teach their bots, but often the bots are morons. And color blind.

    • @JessVanDen
      @JessVanDen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting! I would expect Etsy to pick up on context clues for this sort of thing. Also - they probably treat some of these (like camel) as a 'misspelt word' so they show what they THINK people are trying to search for.

    • @ecouturehandmades5166
      @ecouturehandmades5166 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JessVanDen I was looking up "metal kippot" to find a friend's shop (she make crocheted wire beaded ladies kippot) and all my grey (or gray) kippot showed up in search. I don't even use the words 'silver', 'metallic' or 'metal' in any listing.
      Camel on Etsy shows camel hair coats, pillows and toy camels, but I have seen homemade caramels on occasion (lol).
      Is the phrase Lord Love a Duck used in Australia, maybe as an under the breath curse? I have said it numerous times looking at Etsy search results...

      So using Yiddish and (English translation) Hebrew doesn't really matter? The bots aren't managed by even one Jewish technician?
